"Greenwich is one of those London ‘villages’ that has as much attraction for the locals as it does for tourists. It’s one of my favourite places to take visitors to London; catch a boat from Westminster Pier eastwards and enjoy the scenery along the banks of the Thames (and the crew’s slightly dodgy history telling), disembark and admire the Cutty Sark, wander through the brilliant market picking up lovely things for a picnic, walk up to the Observatory and stand with one foot in the east and one in the west, walk down through the Naval College and then use Brunel’s tunnel to walk under the Thames itself. It never fails but to impress."

I visited my son who works behind the bar at this beautiful restaurant. We sat right by the window with a view of the river. The fish and chips we ordered were amazing. It's a great pub! View menu

I have visited this restaurant twice and had delicious vegan meals at both locations. However, during my second visit, I was disappointed when they forgot to serve me a vegan dessert (as I was the only vegan in my group).

We had our special occasion on 29/03 and I want to thank the staff at Metalgar Tavern for the excellent service. The food and drinks were fantastic and all of our guests had a great time. If anyone is looking for a unique place to celebrate their special day, Metalgar Tavern is the place to go! - Mr. and Mrs. Petrow. View menu

Great views nice inside to this pub. Serves Magners cider unlike some of pubs near by that just serve bulmers of unheard of makes. Resonaable prices but not as competitve as the yacht next door. This pub is great in the summer with good music playing. It is really cold in the winter and empty as a result. Good amount of seating area outside!

Peter Morrell takes a cruise down the Thames to enjoy an evening in this historic riverside location. Iconic Sites of London. The Royal Naval College. The Trafalgar Tavern. Kiln Smoked Salmon with Heritage Beetroot. PausePlayPlayPrev|Next. The Trafalgar Tavern is quite close to my home in South London but my wife and I decided to take the more scenic route to get there. We jumped on the commuter boat service run by MNBA Thames Clippers from Embankment Pier to Greenwich. On a warm early summer’s evening we passed many iconic London landmarks, the Globe Theatre, The Shard and Tower Bridge before arriving at the pier by the Cutty Sark.

"What we went for: Breakfast with a wow factor What we ordered: Duck and waffle, black pudding, eggs en cocette with mushrooms, avo toast with scrambled eggs , coffees What we paid: GBp 75 Verdict: definitely full marks for the wow factor, starting with the Uber fast lift to the 40th floor.. Food I would say my duck and waffle with the eggs and maple syrup was definitely a treat.. perfectly deep fried duck leg Confit with the slightly sweet wFfle, slightly runny yellow of the fried egg and a little touch of the maple syrup is a forkful if guilty pleasure ! I loved the dish and can totally understand the restaurant being eponymously named after its signature dish.. The eggs en cocette was a trip to mushroom heaven dunked in melted cheese and oven baked eggs.. the heavenly aroma of the mushrooms, truffle oil... eggs and cheese in oodles of butter and little toast sticks to pick up that and put it in your mouth was definitely another dish right up there! Heavenly, guilty pleasure , must eat !!! All the superlatives indeed.. The scrambled eggs with the avo toast was the healthiest dish on the table and arguably lost the battle if there was one for the wow factor .. perhaps the most sunny looking dish but I have had this myriad times in small variations .. Duck and waffle did a good job of the dish but hey if you can get this at the local breakfast diner why make a trip all the way to duck and waffle : Service was good.. they were even nice enough to take a few pictures.. small let down while there was an empty table closer to the side with u interrupted views of London we were given a similar table inside without a very good reason.. Would I return? Definitely !"
