"This is a small neighborhood restaurant that seats about 30 people indoors. It is informal and decorated as you expect a local family restaurant to be. Terrazzo tile floors, simple wood chairs and tables and an overall darker wall color. It could use some better lighting, but it is not distracting. The food is very good. I had a homemade mozzarella ravioli in a white cream sauce and my wife had a vegetarian pizza with pepper and eggplant as the main toppings. We both had the fine local Pilsner- Feldschlossen. The prices are high if you are not Swiss, but quite normal within the Basel area. My house specialty was about 32 Swiss Francs. This restaurant is near the St Johannes Tor tram stop, but probably about 7 blocks off the main road, so a short 5 minute walk is required. It was a very well prepared meal and I would go there again. As a final note, the staff is very friendly. Our wait person did not speak English, but the chef (owner?) did speak enough to get us through the menu. Of course, if you are ordering the simpler items, then English is probably not required.Nice visit overall!"
