"Our airbnb host suggested that we try Trattoria Bolognese to experience real, down-to-earth, homemade and freshly made pasta and other food items that was just a five minutes’ walk and our host was not wrong. We hoped to find a table at 8pm when they open but were informed politely and respectfully that they were booked until two evenings later. So we booked, walked into this restaurant two days later to be greeted with a warm, smile and an enthusiastic welcome as they remembered my name and said, “Larry!” Now, that is service with a friendly flair that other restaurant owners could take a hint from. The pasta meals were totally yummy but the fried bread topped with sliced ham and cream was a first for us and a pleasant surprise. Tiramisu was also a homemade delight but the homemade ice cream topped with chocolate was a fitting way to finish a delicious dinner and enjoyable evening. You must book, especially for dinner. This place is well worth the time and effort to seek out and try. It was full of locals who were welcomed with hugs and laughter by the staff. Honestly, if you want to experience a real Italian place to dine this is THE place in Milano."
