Umami - Menu

Very nice culinary experience. An Asian influence appreciated and mastered by the leader. Good dishes. Very good value quality price. Excellent service. I recommend.

Excellent establishment, the kitchen is refined and of very high quality. We went there twice and we always enjoyed it. The changing menus over time, it's every time a new discovery!

Rudest treatment we have ever encounterd, anywhere in Europe. Owners and staff are contemptuous and dismissive. No one seemed to be enjoying their food or the place. Our hotel in Strasbourg was appalled when we told them about our treatment at this establishment.

Delicious of the fun mouth with soft mignardises. The presentation was up to the flavours. The service is pleasant and efficient. The decoration is neat and harmonious, it is certain that the owners have a concern for detail (until the choice of the very beautiful dishes). We had a good night.

Just an exquisite dinner. First of all a very warm and smiling welcome (despite the mask) and then impeccable service in 5 dishes. Flavours and tastes that blend perfectly, an irreproachable and magnificent presentation. In short, don't hesitate to go to Umami for dinner at a restaurant that wears her name very well

One of my greatest gastronomic heart strokes! The kitchen is divine, both original and precise. Cooking and seasonings are extremely accurate. The intimate atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, the sublime decor and the perfect welcome! A magical experience for epicureans and fine gourmets! With an exceptional price-quality ratio. Hait to return!!!

Having read a previous critique that was less than complimentary on food decor I'm rather lost for words. Aesthetics are certainly a matter of personal preference and we all found the setting and decor very calming and very pleasant. More importantly the 6 course set menu was excellent, huge range of flavours and very dish delightful, fresh and well presented. We'd recommend it highly, it's tip top on every level.

I went to Umami with a friend, and were lucky enough to get a table in spite of a short notice booking. We had The Sakura menu, and overall, the food was excellent and the pairing with the wine did work out very well. The portions are not huge, but in a fine dining restaurant that is totally acceptable as the variety of flavors and scents contributes to the sensation of fulfilment. The cuisine is refined, with an excellent use of herbs and spices. Starter was Sashimi of Hamachi with Watermelon tartare and cucumber juice. I hesitated to write a review on this restaurant the main reason being lack of inspiration, somewhat like the food, as what to say about it. Bland I think sums it up. I personally found the decor soulless not even sterile which I think I would have preferred. Its small so don 't be expecting to have a private conversation because whether you 're trying or not during lapses in your own converation you can hear whats going on at the tables beside you. The food.... nothing stands out I 'm sorry to say. The crockery was badly chosen... I mean guys these assiettes creuses might be all the rage, but they are just super annoying to try and eat from and the way you have to serve yourself your cutler...
