"I came to this brasserie on the recommendation of some French friends in the area -- they told me it was a solid place to eat that wasn't too expensive. Now when there's New York, New York close by (similar prices and atmosphere), I don't understand why anyone would come here. I had duck and steak tartare at both spots. The difference is that I had two meals on two occasions at New York, New York and had to order a second plate here as the duck was flavorless and lifeless. Keep in mind I am a New Yorker, I was even more heavily scrutinizing of my city's eponymous restaurant in Cannes. Tartare was edible but they misinterpreted the meaning of sear (happens rather often in France in general, I've now learned my lesson). As far as other items go, my friends enjoyed the salmon and seafood pasta, but the "veggie burger" gave my vegan friend a stomachache. My cocktail was decent, and I wish I ordered a burger.A bit in their defense, mid 20s for plates and 20 for the tartare may not be haute cuisine in Cannes. But when compared to their across-the-street neighbors upsidedowncafe does not deliver the service I'd expect. At a proper restaurant or brasserie I'd expect to be able to order at the bar if I like, to receive my plates in a timely fashion, and to be asked how the food is (especially if I'm not eating it and ordering another plate). At any rate, I may have had a particularly poor experience, but I've been living in Cannes for over two months and there are better places for price, quality, and service."

The service and staff here are great, however the food is very average. The restaurant itself is nothing super fancy either. I had a seafood pasta and the prawns were extremely overcooked and rubbery.

View menu

The cafe is situated a few minutes walk from the Film Festival Cinema, it has a "tent" extension on the front and to the side- Once seated in one of the semi-circle booths the meal was ordered - I went for the roast chicken. The chicken came with mash potato, it was absolutely sublime, perfect meal.

First of all the service was great, our waiter was very friendly. The food was good, not to mention the dessert was delicious, my only problem was that the food took a while to get to our table, and they took a long time to bring the check and we wanted to go; otherwise great though. Would definitely return.

View menu

This is a very good restaurant and it conceals a reasonable value for what is paid. My first visit was in late December and since then I've been there again three times taking some visiting friends from Europe for tasting it.The view from Juan-Les-Pins bay and the ambiance are also really nice and the service was just perfect in the first three visits: once we had an accident with our drinks and the staff really surprised us recharging our glasses for free and we didn't even think about it. But we faced a bad hospitality in our last visit (in August) because the server (older than the other waiters we had before) wasn't friendly and seemed overcharged. To conclude, in those visits I tried th...
