Vapiano - Menu

Had a lovely meal here - I have to have GF food and they have a good selection and it is made in front of you well worth a visit but very busy

The italian inspirated food is okay. Peoply are waiting in long rows for their dinner/lunch for at least 45 min. If you are more than two persons, don't expect to eat togethers.Expect that Vapiano not have all things left on the menu card, because they run empty very early.

Really tasty pasta, and you can see the cook prepare your food while you are waiting. There is also a good opportunity to tailor-make your meal by different choices, just as you would like to have it. The cook on our queue seemed new, so it took us about 30 minutes to get food. The pasta was pretty bad as well, the arbietta was made of a ready made sauce. 30 minutes for boiled pasta with ready made tomato sauce?? I could do better, faster, cheaper at home. To top all this the pasta was way too spicy, and I'm a fan of spicy food, but, no manager or anyone to complain to. No one even asked how the meal was when we paid. Do yourself a favor and go for a real Italian restaurant.

We decided to have dinner here as it was close to our hotel and we've previously had a good experience at an other Vapiano's. This Vapiano's is located at a nice place overlooking the square. We previously received a buzzer after ordering indicating that our meal is ready. This one did not.. Which meant that you had to wait for everything at the counter, which was frustrating if you want to order in separate courses. The food itself was tastefull but not special. I would recommend the Vapiano's at the Ausburgerstr.

I was attracted to Vapiano because the menu had gluten free options. I wasn't expecting it to be so fantastic. Whilst it was a little new for me, I was soon totally sold on the unique experience. The food is cooked to order at a station where you choose the dish and the chef prepares it in front of you while you wait. You get to add or avoid items along the way and you get a genuine, freshly cooked meal in 10 minutes or so. The food was really tasty and satisfying and the whole experience was brilliant. I thought this was quite a decent place for a quick Italian meal, and was surprised at the low rating on this site. It probably helps to understand the system in advance. On entering you get an individual smartcard, which you 'beep' when ordering food or drinks. Check the menu (English available) and when you've chosen what you want go to the appropriate counter (pizza, pasta, salads etc) to order. The staff will cook your meal in front of you (or for pizzas you get a buzzer to let you know when it's ready).I had spaghetti carbonara, which was good quality and I could see the ingredients were fresh. We had never dined at a place like Vapiano before. There were three of us and one wanted Pizza, one wanted Pasta and I don't remember what the third person got. The problem is that you have to wait in the pizza ordering line to order the pizza, then you move to the pasta line and wait there to order the pasta, ditto for our third item. Then you go to the drink ordering station and wait there to order your drink. We were visiting the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche and saw folks at outside tables eating delicious-looking pastas and salads. Vapiano is an interesting self-serve or cafeteria style “Italian food” chain with very generous portions and reasonable prices. At this location, the attendant (who was not very friendly or informative) gave us a plastic card and sent us upstairs.
