Our holiday began (very unexpectedly) 3 hours before it was due to because of the outstanding food, service and menu. What a brilliant place to stop off on the A303.

We visited this gem of a place again this time with some friends hoping it was good as the last time. The food is top class with great service in a light and airy dining space. We definitely recommend this place.

As a regular driver down the A303 I wish I had found out about this earlier. It’s the perfect pit stop if you are heading down to the South West (or up to London). We visited on a quiet Saturday morning and initially were surprised...

Was searching on the internet for somewhere to stop for breakfast close to the A303 and Hillbrush came up. A really quirky set up on the side of a brush factory the staff were excellent and the full English breakfast was top quality and... View menu

We were aware before our visit that there would be sandwiches, coffee and cake only (due to the chef being on holiday) but this wasn't a problem as we only wanted coffee and cake (it being about 11.15)! Entering through the shop a sign asked...

We were advised to pop into Hillbrush for lunch. Friendly, helpful staff, with a full varied menu. Situated in a broom factory, with interesting nick nacs on the walls and surrounds. We sat next to an old broom machine. Our food came fast, was very...

We stopped at Hillbrush today on our journey from Cornwall to London , something we do regularly. We have always had a pleasant experience with good food but today was extraordinary. We arrived on the dot of 11.30 am and the conversation with the waitress...

We organised a reunion lunch as a group of ladies and chose Visit Hillbrush, because we are friends of Visit Hillbrush and it had been recommended. Whoever is managing Visit Hillbrush needs to pay attention to actually managing the restaurant. If you need a lesson...

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
