"If you like blueberries, scones and cream then this is well worth a visit and very good value for money. The blueberry scones were excellent and the blueberry jam just made it even more decadent. It was a shame about the cream which doesn’t match the quality of West Country clotted cream but they were still delicious. The tea and coffee were good quality albeit slightly ruined by the single use ‘compostable’ cups that so many places now insist on using. If, like us, you are lucky enough to find a table outside on a lovely sunny day then this is a great place to sit and wait for the next cruise boat to arrive."

Fantastic coffee, our son really enjoyed the hot chocolate. Blueberry scones with rum butter and cream were amazing.

What a great find! Lovely fresh panini, scones to die for, the rum butter is genius! Great coffee, very friendly staff, and an awesome view. Will definitely be back!

I ordered a toasted bacon roll. The bread itself was nice. However, I expect back bacon in a bacon roll. This was very very thin streaky bacon, therefore poor value at £4.20.

Straight of the boat and into the Waterhead Coffee Shop. We had ice cream floats made with limoncello and two ciabatta sandwiches, I had the hot ham and cheese, my wife the cold ham salad, finished off with ice creams, perfect. View menu

I dropped by while in Ambleside and had some tea and cake. I grabbed a seat in the sheltered outdoor area right next to the lake, and great views. Good for people watching too! Staff were friendly, cake was good, the sun was out ideal!

Popped in here for a cuppa whilst walking back to our hotel and they had the best ever carrot cake. Love the wee cafe despite not having any washroom facilities. Love the fact you can buy bags of food for the ducks as well. Do visit when you are passing

Amazing scones, cakes, and a fantastic atmosphere right by the promenade lake. The only downside was that the other cafe at The Pier was closed due to Covid lockdown. A much better option than the old and gloomy cafe on the pier. We will definitely return as soon as we can. View menu

I visited the restaurant today. We have been here multiple times and always enjoy sitting and admiring the view. Our go-to dishes are the apple slice, cherry slice, and chocolate brownie. However, today they only had apple pie and a caramel brownie. While they were good, we were disappointed to not see our favorites. Will the slices and brownie be back on the menu, or are they gone for good?

We made a quick stop at this cafe for some ice cream on our way back to the boat. It's situated in a fantastic location with outdoor seating that offers a lovely view of the lake. The menu had a nice variety of options at reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the ice cream we ordered was delicious, especially with the chocolate dipped top. We would definitely consider returning if we find ourselves in the area again.

"We were sure to book ahead for a table of 4 for 5.15 as it was a late Sunday roast we were fully aware that not everything would be available so it was no surprise when we were told that there was only gammon left for the roast option however there was still fish and chips homemade steak pie or vegetable lasagne. We happily opted for 3 gammon roast dinners and a homemade steak pie with mash (you get the choice of which potato you'd like) The food arrived piping hot with plenty of everything and it was so so tasty you could really tell everything was lovingly made from scratch for the roast the potatoes came both roasted and mashed with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash. A generous helping of gammon and a large Yorkshire pudding with gravy that was clearly made with the juices as it was so flavourful. The steak pie was brilliant too homemade with large chunks of steak and a choice of potato and whether you'd like the same veg as that with the roast or with peas. This also came with gravy. For dessert there was a choice of either chocolate fudge cake, caramel apple pie or sticky toffee pudding and you had the choice of either cream, ice cream or custard. 2 of us got it with custard and 2 of us got it with ice cream and it wasn't overbearingly sweet it was perfect with a delicious caramel top! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the drinks and service and will be back again one day if we find ourselves holidaying here again"
