Lovely restaurant/pub/ B&B. Always friendly welcome from Rob and Staff. Really enjoyed our Saturday evening meal. Good food good wine. Bonus dog friendly.

Great country pub with a cosy atmosphere, and Johnny gives you a warm welcome. It is a while since we have been, but the food and presentation was just as good as ever. Thoroughly enjoyable

Fabulous food and service. We were on our way to the new Everyman cinema in Northallerton. Perfect spot. Really enjoyed the food, tried the fish pie, delicious went down well with a glass of pic poul white wine. We ate early evening. Place was nicely buzzing. Very friendly. Recommended.

The service was great, we had three courses that came out perfectly timed. The food was interesting and delicious. My husband had the black pudding, fish pie and sticky toffee pudding. I had chickpea curry and the dark chocolate torte. The portion sizes were spot on, we came away satisfied but not stuffed. If we are in the area again we’ll definitely be back. View menu

First impression this place is comfortable and cosy with lovely fires to warm up the rooms. Much larger inside than expected. We ate from the set menu and god was it good! The best meal we have eaten for a long time, The Daube of beef was outstanding, no need for a knife the meat was so tender and succulent and the mash was beautiful. We wish we had room for dessert and we will certainly be back to try Sunday lunch. Thank you to the chef and the gent who waited on us. This place is fine dining and deserves any accolades it gets. A friend was passing through and was staying there so we decided that this would be the place to eat. I sadly haven't been for a while for no particular reason, just life gets in the way. I had the curried potato soup followed by the lamb. The soup was something different and I really enjoyed it, the lamb was perfectly pink as it should be, the veg was al dente as it should be and the sauce thick and tasty as it should be. The service was prompt and with a smile as it should be, the local (ish) beer from the Yorkshire dales was chilled and not too cold as it should be. It is rare that all three courses in a meal deliver at super quality. We chose game terrine followed by beef daube, then sticky toffee pudding and chocolate mousse and pistachio cake for desert. The americanos to follow hit the spot too. Ingredients, presentation, and culinary approach are all worthy of high praise. As an early evening set menu and lunch option we can't imagine it could be bettered including on value for money. The setting is relaxed country pub with the right kind of spacing of tables to allow for quiet sharing of the experience.
