"Food on site is absolutely gorgeous. Had the fillet steak one day and the duck the other and both were amazing. Compliments to the chef. Could do with more experienced staff for dinner on weekends. There was a very long wait for service drinks on the Saturday and only 3 staff on. Room was nice and spacious. Bed was very comfortable once we managed to get to sleep as it was so warm each night. Bath shower was very creaky whilst stood in it. Location fairly quiet location, need a car to get around but we knew that before we came. Would stay here again."

A lovely old farmhouse converted into a small run family hotel. Friendly prompt service at the bar and when dining. Food was excellent value for money and plenty of choice. Will definitely visit again. Handy for silloth and a small coastal walk. Also less than an hour from Keswick. Much cheaper than hotels in the lake District area.

I have been going for Sunday lunch recently at this restaurant. The food is amazing, especially the desserts which are delicious! The service is very pleasant and welcoming with a warm reception. The dining areas are spacious and there is plenty of parking space available. The slope up to the entrance makes it easy for disabled access. The toilets are very clean. Overall, a great experience. beautiful hotel with comfortable, clean rooms. the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. we went the hadrian’s wall section abd the location was not terrible comfortable for it. we took a bus from abbeytown to the hotel that worked great, but when we tried to go the street on the morning, that was without shouldered and very fast moving cars. so a nice hotel, but not optimal for hikers.

a cozy and very friendly family hotel. real comfort food hanging in a traditional bar with whisky crawl and quirky objects on the walls. an excellent powerful shower (we were in room 4). bed. tee coffee in the room and a T.V there is also a small camping tourist area. a small children's playground and a pleasant garden to relax. it is not decorated to fit the latest fashion. it is clean, it is comfortable, it is friendly and eating is proper home style food. there are 360° images on google maps streetview.
