"It was only by luck we went into this beautiful little rural coffee shop, and what a gem it was. So many beautiful cakes, all reasonably priced, good variety of breakfast items and savoury lunch items on the menu too. It was very busy late Saturday morning when we arrived, but we still managed to get a table for 2. Service was relatively quick, considering how busy it was. Toilet room was clean and well stocked too. Parking was free and easy on the road side. Furthermore they offer a cakeaway service and use sturdy cardboard boxes, although you’ll be spoilt for choice!"

Visited for afternoon tea with friends to celebrate a big birthday. Food was incredible, there was absolutely loads and they gave us all a doggy bag to take home what we couldn’t eat! The staff were so attentive and friendly and the venue really is gorgeous.

I live locally so no idea why I haven't been sooner as my visit this morning was wonderful. 3 adults and a toddler, we were warmly welcomed on arrival. We had coffee and cake and the cake selection was great and generous sizes. Every member of staff was friendly and the cafe had a lovely feel. Will be visiting regularly from now on.

Local coffee shop, so very invested in supporting it. From initial phone call to actual visit everything was easy, relaxed efficient. A relatively short menu but a good choice. I had a deli salad which was delicious plentiful. My friend had a baguette, a favourite of hers. We didn’t have cake despite them being homemade looking delicious gaining many positive reviews. The service was very good. View menu

What a lovely little space, with welcoming and friendly staff and an incredibly large selection of delicious cakes. The lunch itself was decent, with my wife having a jacket potato and me a sandwich, both of which were filling, but the stars of the show were the cakes we shared for dessert. I don't think I have ever seen so many cakes on offer in such a small establishment, yet they were scrummy!

One of my frequent cycling coffee hotspots, and one that never fails to disappoint; staff always friendly, food and drinks always nice, and the cake counter for that sugar boost is always well stocked. Would recommend to anyone on a bike or just driving through the area (because who doesn't sometimes get cake to go). Probably advisable to book ahead for larger parties though as it's quite small (yet cosy) and can get busy.

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
