The starters were exceptional, however the partridge was very tough and over cooked....it should have been perfect based on it being one of their handful of main courses.

Booked this with friends on a Saturday night as part of on long weekend away. Delighted we found it as this is a gorgeous little bistro with fabulous service and amazing food all in a very relaxed atmosphere. High quality ingredients beautifully cooked. Wish this was closer so I could visit again.

We found by wonderful chance this fantastic location. We had been traveling most of the day and were absolutely famished when I called by pure chance to see if this restaurant could consider four hungry souls. We now know we met the hostess Gemma who advised it would be 45 minutes but would have a table then, We were back at the allotted time and taken care of beyond belief. Service excellent food very excellent and the general ambiance incredible. This was a true find and the highlight of our trip to the North York district. Keep up your fantastic work. We had the pleasure of eating in the Willowgate Bistro on Saturday 21st October. The welcome was very pleasant and friendly with coats being taken and hung up for us. The drinks were served with a very nice Tapenade on sour dough as a welcome before the meal. We all had different dishes for starters and main course each one of us really enjoyed them, including the perfectly cooked vegetable's. The deserts were also spot on. It is rare that I can say that each one of us had an excellent meal, but that was one brilliantly tasty and perfectly cooked meal. Compliments to the Chef and his staff. We will certainly return when in the area.

AMAZING FOOD!! Everything was delicious. The complimentary tapenade was surprisingly moorish, especially when neither of us like olives and it was a nice touch. We had the crab arrancini and pork to start, both were very fresh and piping hot, incredibly enjoyable. We had the monk fish and venison for mains and neither could be faulted. The monkfish was cooked perfectly, it was soft and fell apart. The venison was also perfectly cooked. We managed to squeeze in dessert which was well worth it. A place we have visited for many special occasions and Wednesday evening's dinner was as wonderful as ever! The staff are fantastic, friendly and passionate, making you feel valued and the table service is top notch without feeling fussy. I had venison for starters, beautifully balanced flavours and textures. A scrumptious succulent monkfish with mussels for main. My husband had Pickering trout followed by lamb loin, polished off both with a grin! We shared a cheesecake, which was light as air and melted in the mouth and a chocolate cherry mousse cake equally as delightful.
