"We popped in here following a visit to the Ryedale Museum (which is well worth a visit). The weather was awful and we were wet and needed something warm and comforting and we were not disappointed. We were made very welcome by the staff there and with two Greyhounds we sat in the comfortable dog seating area. We had home made soup and a panini for a decent price. This was followed by a large syrup sponge which was devine. The sponge was light and fluffy, the ice-cream was beautiful and the portion was huge. All the food is home made which is apparent by the quality you receive. If you you visit the museum and show your ticket you get 20% off. This is a wonderful place for top notch food and a warm welcome. Well worth a visit."

We decided to stop by the tea room for a cup of tea after visiting the Ryedale Folk Museum, but ended up indulging in tea, coffee, cakes, scones, and paninis. Everything looked and tasted so good, we couldn't resist. We enjoyed every bite and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back again.

We have just been staying in Hutton le Hole for the week and have been well looked after food wise by the lovely people at The Forge Tea Rooms Yummy food especially the local chicken sandwich on local white bread!! Cakes are heavenly Try the coffee cake .. Breakfasts too are delish I had crispy bacon on that nice white bread and hubmeister had tasty sausage butty. Totally recommend a visit whether you are in the village for the day, staying locally or out on your motorbike and fancy a quiet place to chill and chat bikes.

"We arrived and walked into the pub.. there wasn't any sort of reception area.. the lady serving showed us our room. The room smelt damp.we went out for dinner said we would be back 10ish pm, we got back at 10.08pm. It was raining. We tried to get in everywhere was locked up.. we were getting wet and cold, we honked the car horn and rang the door bell.. nothing, so we phoned the property. No one answered it went to an answer machine,we sat back in the car , we were soaked and stuck outside..no way to get in.. Eventually a man walked from the bottom field and asked if we were the residents stuck outside? Apparently his manager had rang him to go have a look, he made it clear to us that he wasn't suppose to be working till Monday but he has had to come up to let us in... he let us in and locked up and off he went. My brother realised then he had left his phone in the car so went to get it but we were locked in. The fact that we were now locked in was very concerning as to fire and safety regulations, hoe would you get out in the situation.. but anyway atleast we were indoors and vould go to bed albeit that the room smelt so strongly of damp, but we had no choice, we were out in the middle of nowhere , which we thought would be a nice place to stay, but unfortunately not.... we had 3 flights of stairs to our room..a damp room, and no access after 10pm although we had said what time we were returning..we would have eaten there if the meals had been reasonably priced. Really not the best place to stay.."
