"Visited yesterday for my sisters Birthday, we were not impressed. We ordered for from the menu, to be told that the 3 dishes we ordered were “off” as they all contained eggs and they had no eggs, so we chose again. We asked about the soup to be told we couldn’t have the soup, we needed to go into the hotel restaurant or bar to be served soup. The coffee we ordered arrived but no food, by the time the food arrived the coffees were drunk. We asked if we could have a coffee order again but we were told we would have to go to the till, order and pay there for another drink, all whilst the food that had just arrived was getting cold! After eating my sister went to order another coffee, 20 minutes and a prompt later her black coffee arrived, how long does it take to a make 1 drink? There were no more than 15 people in there the whole time we were but it still took ages to get served. I tried to give in a voucher for money off the food, but was told that only applied in the hotel no where on the voucher did it say that, so I told the waitress I wouldn’t be bothering again, and hey presto the money off was accepted. Whilst I was waiting for my food I popped to the shop 3 doors down, they had eggs for sale in great quantities , it’s a pity no one took the initiative at Wilson’s and went and bought some. We won’t be returning anytime soon."

It was great to see Sara today, we have missed her during our last few visits. She always takes good care of us, provides excellent service, and is very friendly.

We have been visiting this cafe as a group of friends weekly for many years it’s lovely but there is now no atmosphere. Sara was always happy, would lift your spirits and always had time to say a simple hello. Please bring her back

Myself and husband visited for lunch. I had a veg Panini and my husband the lamb flat bread. Both dishes arrived with a generous portion of crispy fries and salad. We also ordered the bread selection which was delicious but unable to finish it. Will return soon.

We went to Wilson's Coffee Shop at the Wynnstay for afternoon tea. The coffee shop was very welcoming to our one-year-old and our small dog. The décor of the coffee shop was visually pleasing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I especially liked the jasmine tea. They offered a vegetarian option for afternoon tea and the sandwiches were diverse and appetizing. I would gladly return if we were in the area again. View menu

I believe this hotel which also means Wilson’s Bar is under new management. We have eaten here on many occasions and were initially disappointed. Told where the reserved table was. Not offered any drinks and had to ask for the menus . The lady who took the orders appeared rushed off her feet, the older bar manager appeared less so ! think he was the manager. Menu was very comprehensive and once we found our way round it was ok. Food came out within ten minutes of order good. Will return as its a nice place to eat .

I visit Wilson’s The Wynnstay most days and it’s always a pleasant experience. The team are a delight, the food is always great and the service is always fresh. I come from a hospitality background and I have to say, the team today 1/06/22 did a great job at handling 2 very rude customers. Some things always go wrong that’s life, but to belittle other humans, of which are much younger than the couple in question and over the smallest of issues. Congrats wilsons team for your handling of this couple and the treats for posting images and a bad review. You did all you can and rectified the issue that had no need to be addressed in the manner it was. Be kind

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
