Very worm place with good service , speaking only little English and the menus are only in German. The food is just what you know on german tradition food - good

My daughter and I stopped here for dinner. We had salmon, potatoes and a cold lentil salad. The food was very good and I'm sure anything you order here is tasty as well.

I had the veal schnitzel with potato salad. It was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff was so friendly and hospitable. On the way out, we got to meet their bulldog pup who was the most lovable guy! View menu

I ducked in here to get out of the snow, and am very pleased I did. I was welcomed enthusiastically, and chose soup and a bludwurst type dish that was new to me.Good beer, warm comfortable surroundings, and very good food. What more do you want?

I've struggled to find decent German food recently. ... it seems to be disappearing under a sea of Italian Mexican and others. However this is a traditional German restaurant serving (as far as I could see) only German food. And very good it was too!I had the black pudding and mash. Served with roasted apple pieces.Lovely!

If you fancy traditional German food then head right here. The surroundings are all part of the experience but the food is totally Teutonic.Lots of sausages, stews, salads and fish to choose from. I relived my childhood on Germany by ordering the Wiener Schnitzel which was just perfect. but emotions aside mh colleague went the whole hog with a dish that piles it high - see pictures.Friendly staff ( but don't expect and English menu) Point and order and you won't go far wrong View menu

The restaurant is located in a pedestrian street in central Duisburg. It has been around since the 19th century and both its decor and its menu are very traditional german. It is a good place both for sitting down and having a drink or for having a meal.We had a Sauerbraten and a dish with sausages and sauerkraut. Both meals were tasty, affordable and .they came in large portions. They could put a little less onions on the sausages in our opinion but that is the only criticism. Service both friendly and professional, just a very good place.

We only managed to have a couple of drinks and the service was very friendly and welcoming. I was even offered to taste the beer which I thought was impressive, as it's usually not the done thing in Germany. On the tables were flyers for Sunday lunch, so I asked the waitress if they'd be open all day as we wanted to refuel after the Rhein-Ruhr Halfmarathon but when we went there in the afternoon, the place was closed. So why tell us they'd be open all day and be doing food? Shame. The interior is very nice and traditional but cosy and has not long ago changed hands and been done up. Shows great potential but sadly didn't deliver.

Four of us went shopping in Duisburg and wanted a good traditional German supper without driving out of the city. We found this restaurant and were very happy with it. The decor is very traditional German. We were served by both staff members on duty who were cheerful, friendly and very accommodating of our enquiries. Two of us had Jager and Zigeuner Schnitzels. They were traditional German large and flattened, very tender and tasty. Both of us loved the sauces on them and the fried potatoes with them. The mixed salads were very good.
