"one of us chose just a large crudity plate, the other one formula. The plate is offered at 8,90€ for the buffet of crudities at will: ham, salmon, mayonnaise tuna, hard eggs, tomatoes, green salad, pedestrian salad, cucumber,...The dessert dish or flat buffet dish is at 12,90€. That day, unfortunately, a breakdown prevented the order from coming to the kitchen. When we asked where the hot dish was to be followed (beignets of calamars), the staff could only see the loss of this order. As we were in a hurry but the entry of the formula had already been taken, the waitress proposed to prepare a ham- cheese-beurre-tomate sandwich... offered! this very commercial gesture was appreciated. So we paid only the crudity plate, the formula being offered and replaced by some crudities and a snack at 0 €.Beautiful initiative."

"Thought would give this place another chance after disastrous service last year. Been here four times now, food is excellent BUT service definitely leans preferably towards the locals. We watched four tables of local French people arrive anything up to over an hour after us get their food 1/2hr before us?! I wouldn't mind so much but my French is not that bad so resent having to ask the waiters/waitresses numerous times where is our food only to eventually be told 'désole' another 5 minutes after literally a 2 hour wait whilst watching other tables of French order, eat and leave before we've had anything. Last year we had the same problem. Last year they even added stuff we never had to the bill to make matters worse. The food is excellent so was really hoping last year was a one off, turns out not the case. Did not see a single table of locals have to wait longer than 20 mins. They need to realise even foreigners can be returning custom. Shame as really enjoyed the food......eventually!!!"

"Positioned as one of the better restaurants in the Angouleme area, this establishment is an oasis, surrounded by the largely industrial area of Gond Pomtouvre, but tucked away in a quiet idyllic spot next to the river, where the loudest noise is made by the water in the millstream! Taking on board the comments of Christine D and Charlotte M, we found the waiting staff very efficient and well drilled, but rather serious hardly a smile anywhere! We chose the 3 course Menu Cascade at €25, beef cheek salad, swordfish then a baked apple for dessert. The meal was attractively served and enjoyable, but the portions were not the most generous. The small fish fillet was served on a spoonful of vegetables and with a little cold tomato salsa on top. We thought the baked apple dessert was rather cheeky; there's hardly a cheaper thing to make and for €25 we thought this menu was expensive, but on a par with similar places in the area. It's a great place to go if its a warm sunny day when you can sit outside on a balcony next to the river, but sitting inside in the winter it could be less so.."

"It's always a risk when you discover a restaurant for the first time.With a friend we discover this restaurant on the yellow page. The room is clean and the reception of the waitress is warm and friendly. we opt for the gourmet menu at 38.90 accompanied by a bottle of burgueil. (There are 31st of course cheaper formulas). Dinner was a treat. a pure moment of happiness. Congratulations to the chef who only cooks freshly with a lot of talent! "hope" has angoulemia. a card not to be missed!!!_"

"We visited this restaurant for lunch before taking a boat trip. Having walked around a bit looking for somewhere to eat we ended up at this restaurant which really exceeded all expectations. Great French food with all the kids eating everything, including my vegetarian daughter who was delighted with the fish tart she chose (they also has a vegan option). I'd highly recommend La Very Table as a lunching spot if you are planning an afternoon on the river at Angoulême."

"This type of intermediary catering between a fast food and a classic catering, it was used for a simple, copied, fast and quality lunch twice, after a meeting of building trustee.In this case, people from far are pressed. we were not disappointed-: fast service-easy parking of your vehicle- choice of economic formulas (hot or non-hot plate, dessert, drink, cheap coffee)- restoration based on fresh products- atmosphere and modern decoration- good value price. This time, we had opted for cheese leaflets, various sandwiches, salmon whiskeys, raspberry doughs, chocolate donuts, coffees, dishes proposals, desserts, vary .good economic idea of fast food with optional cakes to take away."

"Tucked away in a tiny street in the old quarter of Angouleme, you could pass by this restaurant without another look. Its not flashy or modern but don't be fooled. The quality of the food is flavoursome and as authentic as I have experienced in India itself. The restaurant is immaculately clean but my choice would be to eat at a table on the terrace and watch the world go by. It's one of the first places I head for when visiting Angouleme. The service is friendly and efficient. Many staff have worked for the restaurant for many many years. Don't be afraid to ask the waiter for the dishes to be "home hot" if you like truly spicy aromatic curry dishes. The roti and nan are hot, crispy and mouth-watering with a good dressing of ghee. The portions are good and we chose a few to share. None disappointed. The sag aloo was particularly delicious especially with any of the lamb curries."
