"We visited The George last Sunday for a roast following a family recommendation. It was first class which meant we revisited this Sunday . Today we had The George Slate as a sharing starter which consisted of chicken liver pate , freshly baked warm bread,...wild mushroom chicken terrine, mini Camembert and olives . Such an amazing starter and great value for money . David had the Sunday roast platter again and this time I went for the Herb Crusted haddock with creamy crab leek sauce, fresh veg and mash. The one thing I’d say is look after your chef as he’s doing such a fantastic job ! Top marks in my eyes. Also I have to say that service is also up there. All in all I’m glad we have this on our door step . Well done to the team at The George !"

"lovely service from Kat and her team in the Tyler's cafe , we booked for afternoon tea for my husband's birthday and they couldn't of been more accomadating fitted us into a early slot moved furniture and things around to accomdate out son and a high chair, let us warm his food up as well as giving him finger foods to try which he loved the Apple. absoulty fantastic already thinking of booking for our next special birthday in July"

"Love riding to Jade's tea room those who work there are always happy and friendly with natural warmth. They are on the ball with COVID safety as spotless inside and out plenty of sanitizer stations. There cakes are just to gorgeous. I tried there new winter warmer hot chocolate with gingerbread men cream and cinnamon spot on now it's getting cooler. I've been to loads of cafes on bike rides but this is always the best, best for food and drink, best for location as it's in a stunning village and best for service as they make you feel welcome"

"Amazing restaurant, food and service. Lovely ambience for a night out with your with friends or a romantic meal for two. Staff were very friendly and accommodating for dietary requirements and the service was second to none. Even thought the restaurant was very busy, the service was prompt and efficient. "A passable Wetherspoons pub that served a purpose that morning to give us a spot to rest up and have a coffee. Totally unmemorable and unremarkable, a Wetherspoons pub that feels like it has had it 's time and they 've had enough. Really didn 't enjoy either of the 'Spoons in Loughborough at all which is a shame. When run properly, Wetherspoons has a place in a town, sadly not in Loughborough apparently."

"Decided to try the Groupon thing out only because I got a further 20% discount. It was barely worth it. The grounds and frontage are lovely. The reception area is ok. The bar area worn and the orangery wants some major roof repair works and cleaning. You look up there's damp patches holes and plaster bubbling. Furniture in the bar area badly worn, carpets no comment. So, we were shown to our table. Table linen clean and tidy. Pity the surrounding tables were or had been left with leftovers. Even the breakfast serving table had left over beans still stuck to it it was 3pm.... The delivery of the cake stand with sandwiches and cakes it was quite good actually. Fresh. Chilled. Very enjoyable. We had tea coffee and prosecco. Must say the stand alone quality of food and beverage was good I thought. Pity the surroundings are borderline dreadful. Overall the experience was average. I knew it wasn't gong to be fantastic so my expectation level was set perfectly. Given that. I was neither impressed nor disappointed. I would neither recommend nor return for this experience. For what was paid via Groupon, it was worth it. Around £16 for 2 including Prosecco. A final note. The location is gearing up for the annual wedding fayre nonsense. I have to say given the interior condition it would be the last place Id chose for an event such as that. We were going to ask to see rooms but given the state of the orangery we didn't bother. The staff were reasonably attentive and friendly."

"The meal at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. Not only was the food poor, but the customer service was also lacking. The sweet and sour sauce with vegetables had a strange smell and odd jelly-like pieces in it, resembling the smell of a horse farm. However, the sweet and sour prawn toast was fine. When I called the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction, they refused to help, citing that no one else had complained about it. Using the lack of complaints as a measure of their food's quality was disappointing, especially on a Monday evening when there are likely many unhappy customers. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"me and my partner ordered from here a good few times with orders costing £32-£60 something. we order through just eat and never had a problem, food was nice no complaints on the food but... and this is not just rising sun, as i said we ordered on the just eat app for some reason it changed our address we saw it as it was about to get delivered, we phoned up rising sun to say that it had the wrong address on it, it had already been delivered, we knocked on the address it had meant to have gone to and they said yes they came but we turned it down saying we didn't order it, the lady on the phone at rising sun had said that was right and was delivered to another address, next door. My point here is why wasn't we phoned when the first place turned it down. the lady on the phone even said that it was delivered to the address on the ticket when she herself knew it wasn't she told us where it had been supposedly delivered but the people that live there are not in so even tho it had an address they delivered it to a completely different address not the one on the ticket. As for just eat they are a waste of time trying to get hold of. So sum it up rising sun use the excuse it's just eats problem and just eat well good luck trying to get somewhere with them rising sun and just eat lost a customer today. in the end they should have phoned our number to simple ask what address when the family they tried to deliver to turned it away."

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The lunch menu had limited choices and the prices were high considering the quality and portion sizes for my three young children. The adult meal I ordered, which consisted of tasteless soup and a cheese sandwich on stale white bread with a small amount of lettuce, cost £11, which I found outrageous. The total bill came to £60.50, and when I complained to the staff about the disappointing meals, I was only offered a £5 discount, the price of the soup. The manageress did not seem interested in addressing my concerns. I usually don't complain when dining out, but in this case, I felt that the lunch options and prices at this otherwise beautiful hotel were a letdown."

"Visited early doors, in fact there were no other customers in when we arrived. The older chap was at the counter when we arrived and we said hello to him as we came in, and confirmed our booking. The younger waiter joined him and we all said hello to him, a greeting which went unanswered. He showed us to our table without speaking to us and came back with the menus before we 'd even got our coats off. The tone for the evening was set then. He took our drinks order, answering impatiently when we asked what beer they had on. When he came to take our food order he glowered at us throughout and interrupted when we were ordering. Couldn 't bring himself to say please or thank you at all. Conversely, he was charm itself with a table of three women who had by now come into the restaurant, laughing away. I 'm not sure what his issue with us was the only thing I can think of was that he took exception to our wearing masks when we entered the place (we took them off when we sat down of course): the older waiter also seemed out of sorts, but he can be moody anyway. After he served the popadoms, which were damp but warm, as if they 'd been microwaved from frozen, the younger waiter seemed to twig that we weren 't happy with his attitude he may even have heard us say he wouldn 't be getting a tip. In any case, he managed to squeeze out a thank you . Too late, by then the evening was spoiled for us. Main course was served, OK but nothing spectacular we finished our drinks and went. I 've been coming to the Red Rose for years with family and friends and never had service like this. I won 't be coming back."

"I like this spot. The food is quite good, and there is plenty of seating inside. The restaurant tends to have a good amount of people in throughout the day, though prices are a bit high. The staff couldn’t be slower if they concentrated and spent time focusing on it. They’re very inefficient and single task driven whilst being oblivious to anything outside of that task — very akin to their Abbey Park location. Service: Dine in"

"Hosted a baby shower here on a Sunday for my best friend. Jeanette was very accomodating and friendly, nothing was a problem. They're was plenty of food and great choices, the sausage rolls were to die for and lovely thick ham in the sandwiches. Everyone commented on the lemon drizzle cake and brownies and there was plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate to go around. Jeanette also providing some lovely decorations and balloons. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!"

"we ate there as a party of 14, in the crimbo limbo twixt christmas and new year. Yes, there was a waiting time, but it was full. 14 adult fed for under £300 and that included a £30 tip, some had starters, some had desserts, we all had drinks and a main course, so that is good worth in my book. my food was in order and I didn't hear any complaining, I love the idea of a mini dessert and hot drink that was dessert was a perfect part for me and tasty, we had expected the drinks had arrived at the same time, but they soon came after so no worries. excellent access to the building and a disabled toilet, good attention from the staff for our needs."

"We came for breakfast following an overnight stay at the premier inn (7 min walk . I had googled before we came and read previous reviews so we had high expectations. We weren’t let down. We were first through the door and were warmly greeted. The room looked beautiful (but don’t tell the owner as it might go to his head we were warned . The service was great and we all went for the big breakfast. It was really great quality with the bacon and grilled tomato standing out for me. Best breakfast I have had for awhile and would visit again when next in town."

"After being let down by another restaurant we decided to come to the White Horse and what an amazing place! The pub and restaurant was warm and the staff were so welcoming. We had a three course Christmas meal and were so amazed by the portion sizes, the gravy was the best I've ever tasted. The pork belly fell apart and was expertly cooked to perfection and even came with crackling! My partner had the turkey which was moist and full of flavour. We bravely went for pudding and the homemade crumble was no exception to how good the food had been. The bar staff were very well presented and attentive without being pushy. They even had a good chat with the locals which is really lovely to see and adds to the welcoming atmosphere. We couldn't recommend this little traditional pub enough and cannot wait to go again!"

"Have been trying to get here for over 2 years having read the reviews but having our own restaurant has always made it a struggle given they only serve pizzas Friday and Saturdays the busiest times in any hospitality establishment! We finally had some time off and chose here for our weekend off. So glad we did!! What a suburb little gem of a place, lovely warm welcome by Melo and his little team. Pizzas were all outstanding and the homemade desserts were worth finding that extra room for. Will definitely visit again whenever we may get a weekend off. They work so hard and we know more than most how hard it is to make our restaurants work . Hope we can repay with a Sunday lunch one day! Sophie and Steve (The Windmill)"

"Have been going to pParty Pieces in Loughborough for quite a few years, the standard of food is very high, the best , in my opinion, in town. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere and Steve and Sally front of house. A simple menu with tasty fillers, but for the best expoerience, it has to be the cakes. I have added inches from the taste testing of the complete range, I have notable favourites, but to those that have never been, put it on your bucket list, you'll not be disappointed."

"This is a great little cafe. The quality of the food is excellent, and there is plenty of choice for a light lunch or for coffee and cake. Much of the food is homemade and can be taken away too. The Scotch eggs are the...best I've ever tasted, and all the cakes I've had have been delicious. In my view the price of the food is very reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients, and it compares very favourably to similar cafes locally. The service is always polite and prompt. My only criticism is that the cafe is fairly small and so can be busy and crowded at times. Otherwise it is a perfect spot for lunch."
