"Went to this place twice during our week long visit, staying at Devon Cliffs/Sandy Bay. My photos show our bill, cod in lemon sauce, pork tenderloin, pork belly and the beef lasagne (in a massive dish I might add). There were 4 of us, despite what the bill says. We had beer and wine and 3 puds on this occassion with bread and oil to start. Mine was the lasagne with salad (and a side order of chips, not shown) it was truly massive and I couldn 't quite finish it. Very tasty meals and we found it easy to park on the Thursday we visited (15th June 2023), about 6.30pm. Highly recommend this place. It was clean and tidy, and the lady owner was very pleasant and chatty. Nice relaxed atmosphere with some 'oriental ' music playing in the background. On the previous occassion I had the paella special very, very tasty but again, it was massive and I couldn 't quite finish it (which is why didn 't have it the second time around). Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for my friend who needs gluten free meals"

"Have been having fish and chips from here for several years, however the last few times the standard has dropped. Last week we had fish, chips and mushy peas and the fish was of a very poor standard. The actual fish was grey and thin, and was very dry. The batter was extremely hard and almost orange in colour. It was almost brittle on the outside but still uncooked on the inside! It was actually inedible. The chips were OK, not great. Service: Take out"

"My wife and I went here recently to celebrate her birthday. The waitress was fab and friendly and had a great sence of humour. Unfortunately that was where the fun ended. My wife ordered dover sole and I had the pork dish. Mine was extremely salty but I decided not to say anything, however my wife 's meal was inedible because everything was plastered in heaps of salt. We called the waitress over, who then asked the owner to come and speak to us. She was very curt and offered to recook the meal. We asked if whe would take bith away as we didn 't want to eat alone or leav mine to go cold whilst they recooked for my wife. She took both away but quickly returned to inform us that she had tasted both and thought that the fish was fine but maybe the pork was a bit too salty! I informed her that I was very sorry and that we did not agree and that bith my wife and I thought that the dover sole was extremely salty. At this point she started to raise her voice and attracted the attention of the rest of the diners. At this I decided that it was time for us to leave as the situation was irreconcilable and that we would oay for the wine but not the food and got up from the table and went into the bar area to pay. The owner followed me and as I went to hand her my credit card she raised her voice again and shouted I don 't need this or your money, just go! We would like to thank Kerry and her husband for ruining my wife 's borthday"

"So happy we have found that place! Absolutely delicious food! It's all so fresh and cooked to perfection. The owners and team are lovely. Our meal was a true highlight of our few days stay in Sidmouth. We are thinking we might come back just to this restaurant again. It will absolutely worth two hours drive. Thank you! "Dukes is a large eaterie that we discovered on the Friday of our long weekend in Sidmouth. We booked in for Sunday lunch roasts available) but chose instead a couple of bowls of salt, chilli and ginger squid. The squid were predominantly whole baby squid and mighty good with the ginger and soy dipping sauce. A nice addition would have been a wedge of lemon and a sweet chilli dip, more akin to the chilli and spring onion garnish. We followed this with traditional battered cod and chips and a fish pie. Both were good choices but i would like to have seen a greater variety of fish in my pie, rather than just salmon and white fish..some prawns and monkfish for example as the dish was a little pricey at £19. 4 Guys non alco IPA and a cola brought the bill to a slightly expensive £66. The service was however good. Automatic service charging is NOT protocol in Sidmouth as a whole, so my £7 cash tip offering was gratefully recieved by our proficient server. Sidmouth is a very dog friendly village and as such, be prepared to eat alongside our well behaved canine friends."

"We visited Sidmouth on 19th July with my wife's god-daughter and her sister. Having spent some time on the beach we wanted to have a meal and The Mocha was right in front of us so we decided to eat there. The menu said that they were serving up to 3pm and we went in at 2.50 so we all quickly made our choices and I went up to the counter to order, arriving at 2.55. There was one elderly gentleman in front of me buy a coffee. However the server seemed to be having some trouble making the order and then the gentleman had some issues making his payment resulting in my arrival at the counter at 3.01, literally 3.01, one minute past 3pm, only to be told they weren't taking any more food orders as it was past 3pm. I argued that I had been in the queue for six minutes and that I would have ordered before 3pm if they hadn't taken so long to sort one coffee order out but to no avail. The member of staff in question was very abrupt to the point of being rude and it was quite clear she could not be bothered to take our order as other staff were dashing around clearing tales and it may have resulted in the staff having to wait for us to finish our meal before they could close up. If they are not going to accept orders up to 3pm then they shouldn't state this on the menu and I have never been in a restaurant or cafe where they refuse to take an order which would have exceeded £60 after I had joined a queue before the closing time. They are lucky they can afford to turn away over £60's worth of business. The customer service here was zero and would not recommend visiting a place where the staff are so rude or so unhelpful."

"we arrived on Monday night after 20 o'clock. we received a warm greeting and showed our seats. the restaurant was beautiful, with a great atmosphere beautiful background music. there were stands and table seats for larger parties. the service was great. the personal was very attentive. the choice of food was plentiful and the most difficult part was the choice of what to have. we had wobbles bahji and sheek kebabs for beginners. they were the best we had. very tasty full of taste. the main thing were chickens madras and chickensbiryani. we were not disappointed. eating was amazing, the best we ever had. the chicken was very juicy and full of taste. also large portion sizes. if they like to eat Indian, they must visit this restaurant. they will not be disappointed! I'm sorry, there were no photos. that was eating well I had no time to make a photo."

"Today wife and I celebrated my birthday and also my successful heart op. So it was a special day for us. We sat in the indoor terrace, nice and warm and enough people to give a nice atmosphere. Staff were absolutely superb. We both had scallops to start. Very good Followed by whole char grilled cuttle fish my wife found this dish to be excellent) I tried the pollock. Nicely cooked. I had chips with my fish and when I ordered a second lot they arrived in 2 or 3 mins a piping hot. We also had a sweet. Chocolate brownie with banoffee sauce and I had the peach Melba. Both excellent followed by tea and I had the fisherman’s coffee. Well done to all at rockfish and not forgetting all those behind the scenes. Kid-friendliness: Children were welcome and a nice high chair provided. Wheelchair accessibility: Having got a family member in a wheelchair I tend to take notice of ease of entry and roominess to manoeuvre. Not sure about toilets."

"What a find , after walking round looking for a place to eat that didn't serve all the same food as other places we found Abys , at first we were a little daunted as it was packed , but we liked the menu and decided to try and get a table. We were shown to a table in a side room and the young lady gave us chance to settle before taking our drinks order, she gave us a menu and explained the ordering process. We noticed on entering that they did a full carvery but my granddaughter had already spotted her favourite meal , chicken skewers in pitta , I found my favourite dish , slow cooked belly pork. I have to say the food was exceptional ,it arrived very hot , well presented and it was excellent , full of flavour and a full plate. I highly recommend Abys for really good food ."
"An absolute pleasure to find ourselves here for lunch. A charming and picturesque inn, with thatch roof and an old English charm to it, we were very happy and full by the end of our meal. Everything was beautiful, especially the locally sourced beef and we couldn't help but have dessert to finish. A lovely couple who were polite and fast with service. Parking was easy and cost very reasonable considering where we were. I honestly would highly recommend for couples or families. They had toys to keep my youngest busy whilst we waited and by the end she didn't want to go home. I just wished I'd have taken a photo because the property is honestly stunning. With the cottage feel and the low beams and thatching, it really does look like something out of a fairytale. Very clean and quaint. Parking: Lots of space, easy to access. Kid-friendliness: Toys available to keep them busy, lots of space outside, easy access to the toilets for children. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the door for east entry and throughout the property. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"Very unfriendly staff , ordered a meal for two which took good 30 minutes to arrive, when it did it was bog standard, when asked for some extra salt, small sachet thrown onto table by man who I presume was the owner. As mentioned by previous customer it’s only for local people who just need a drink. Should have noticed no one else was eating. No wonder pubs are closing down."

"Olivia was amazing to work with. Being a first-time investor, I was unsure about the process, but Olivia Carlos guided me through everything. Thanks to her help, I made a profit of $13,500 with just a $1,000 investment. She was also very helpful in coordinating the withdrawal process. I highly recommend Olivia Carlos to anyone looking to start investing. You can reach her at Email: [hidden email] or WhatsApp: +13162028259."

"Nice enough vegan breakfast with plenty of food but why they think they can justify an extra 30p for about 20ml of oat milk is beyond me that works out about £15 per litre. Staff said not much demand for it (not surprised at that price) so they don't get to use full bottle but it lasts a few days and this is profiteering. I know lots of others overcharge for nondairy milks but they shouldn't"

"Awful we got there for 7.30pm we ordered a starter this took an hour to come out the starter was nice though Then had to wait another hour for our main We ordered 3 steaks all cooked medium rare but what came out was nothing short of boot leather so much so we didn’t eat it and the batter on the fish and chips was watery I did say to the owner when they came over to see how the food was and she said there was nothing they could do as they only had one steak left When going to pay the bill I said to the owners about this and explained calmly and politely about what had happened the man behind the bar had kept the steaks and cut them up to show me the smallest speck of red meat which a apparently makes it medium rare "

"We stayed here for 1 night and wish we had booked for longer. It's off the beaten track but a hidden gem. Check in with Donna was super friendly and she showed us to Room 6 which was gorgeous and incredibly comfortable fabulous nights sleep. The bar has a huge open fire which is a cosy and sociable space, good drinks choices and delicious food in the restaurant. Recommend the baked Camembert and Steak and Ale pie. Service excellent thanks to Ben, Patsy and Hannah and the breakfast the next morning was fabulous and there was plenty of choice. A half mile walk to the beach blew away the cobwebs although we couldn't get back to the hotel as it's that good. Loved it and can't wait to get back."

"My husband and I stopped by the Cannon for lunch last Saturday, it had been quite some time since our last visit. There was plenty of parking available, and we were greeted warmly as we walked into the restaurant. The menu offered a variety of options, and we chose table 8 to sit at. We ordered at the bar, selecting a pot of tea for two along with a small ham, egg, and chips dish, and liver with bacon, onions, mashed potatoes, three types of vegetables, and gravy. Our tea arrived promptly, and we enjoyed our first cup while taking in the simple decor of the room. Our meals were served by the friendly lady who welcomed us earlier, and we were impressed by the high quality of the ham, chips, egg, liver, bacon, onions, mash, and vegetables. The lady even checked in to ensure we were satisfied with our food. Everything was clean and the service was attentive. We found the price of our pub lunch to be reasonable and we will remember the Cannon for its friendly service."

"Not much open for food in Seaton mid December on a Sunday but we'd eaten in here before, and enjoyed it, so thought we'd try again. All table service, which was friendly and efficient. Nice choice of real ales and cider and a good menu. We both opted for the beef burger and added bacon and cheese. It came with lovely chunky chips and a salsa and was well cooked, hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend and eat there again when in Seaton."
"We have visited a few times over the summer including some evening drinks in the pretty beer garden with super countryside views as well an evening meal and a Sunday lunch. The evening meal provided a good choice of hearty pub food. We particularly enjoyed the pie which had been cooked as one large one in a tray and cut up. So tasty! The Sunday lunch was a choice of two roasted meats (as well as a veggie option) which came with proper stuffing, a great choice of vegetables and some good roasties. There were also a couple of other main options other than the roasts. We were so full we couldn't take advantage of one of the deserts which looked good on other tables. Would recommend for a good priced, hearty, home cooked meal with a range of meal choices. Thank you"
