"Amazing birthday treat to stay here from my son daughter in law.Stunning cosy pub accommodation in a wonderful location. I was thoroughly spoilt by being booked into the most lovely room with its own private terrace. It was beautifuly presented with its own garden pod chimanea, sun loungers table chairs. There was a gorgeous bouquet of roses in the room accompanied by a birthday card from David the GM his team at the pub, what a very thoughtful gesture. This was just one of the many little treats that made my stay so enjoyable. Thank you so much.! The room itself En suite were extremely comfortable stylishly decorated with everything you need for an unforgettable relaxing stay."

We just returned from a lovely 2 night break at the Masons Arms. Fab room, loved the hamper breakfasts, excellent efficient and friendly staff, especially Patsy in the restaurant and Sophie and Sara on reception. Cannot fault anything from start to finish. Will be back in November.

I loved everything about Room 12 - the bath, the bed, the size. It was truly amazing. I wish I could have this in my own home. I highly recommend it to everyone. They have plenty of vegetarian options and it is very kid-friendly. The price per person is £100+. The food and service both receive a perfect score of 5. View menu

Always come to this pub when visiting the village. Staff are great and help to create a fantastic atmosphere. Last meal that we ate her tonight was cooked by Will the chef and it was delightful. Patsy was a true professional as always. Well done guys and girls keep up the great work, see you again soon. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5

This restaurant is a hidden gem, although it may be hard to find due to its location on narrow and steep country lanes. My wife and I had a great time enjoying a delicious pint of Tribute bitter along with bread, olives, and Balsamic oil. We also enjoyed a fantastic meal of fish cakes, new potatoes, and salad. Overall, it was definitely worth making the effort to visit this place. View menu

As someone from Australia, I had a certain expectation of what a typical English pub would be like, and The Masons Arms in England met those expectations perfectly. The drive through the picturesque countryside to reach the pub was beautiful, and upon arrival, we were welcomed by a cozy open fire, friendly locals, and courteous staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the pub itself was absolutely charming. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a drink and a delicious traditional meal.

Went there for my son’s birthday. From the minute we entered we could feel the warmth and happy glow of the Masons Arms. The staff , particularly one young lady with blonde hair and a ponytail, were so attentive and friendly and obviously loved working there. We were in a cosy alcove and there was no rush to get our orders in or to free up the table. The food was very tasty and the menu was just the right length. Something for everyone. In fact I’ve never seen my 2 year old granddaughter eat such a big burger with a smile on her face. Thanks to you all for a lovely time. We have recommended you to friends.

"We had two dinners and breakfast from this restaurant because we stayed in the Home Farm Hotel. We wanted to have the dinner and breakfast during our stay, but had to cancel our plans due to VERY POOR customer service received from Richard and also...because of his wife's cooking due to overcooked and burned full cook breakfast we received from the restaurant. Day 1, Richard introduced his wife to us, but she totally ignored us and in addition, she did not even bother to acknowledged and smiled with us. She seems to be very upset or very distance from everything or stressed/fed up about something at the time. Not sure this was due to over working… Day 1, Richard requested us to come down stairs for the dinner at 18:00, but instead of taking us to the restaurant for dinner, he tried his best to hard sell the alcohols he had in the bar to us and also to all the other guests. This happened even after we told him several times that we only want the meal and no alcohol from his bar. After about two hours, I had to tell him that I’m a diabetic and heart patient therefore I do really want to eat the meal and have a rest. He gave us the menu and I asked for lamb which was on the menu and he went crazy and said to us that they do not provide English food in this restaurant. I showed him what was on the menu, but he did not even apologise to us. He said lamb run out and asked us to select something else from the menu, again we selected duck, but that was run out as well!!! By then, Richard was sarcastic and rude to us as well as to other guests… In the end, we asked what we can have for our dinner. He almost shouted at us saying he and his wife only there to run the hotel without any staff therefore, we have to eat whatever his wife can cook!!! Finally, at about 21:00, we managed to have our dinner and I asked Richard to cancel our breakfast and dinner booking for the rest of the days however, he said we have to take the breakfast for next day because it was too late to cancel it. Next morning (Day 2), we were near the restaurant since 08:00 as Richard requested but as usual, past 09:00 we received burnt and overcooked full breakfast for two of us. They had a very large menu but it seems like most of the food either his wife did not know how to cook or had run out. Richard charged full price for our meals, BUT he FORGOT to provide the good quality food and services to the customers…"
