"We come here relatively often because we live in Market Rasen it’s a good place to drop in for lunch because they do a good range of sandwiches and soups etc. at lunch. However, the bar manager is extremely rude and ruins the experience which is otherwise alright. We went up to order and he was being very harsh with a member of the bar staff right in front of us he was complaining that the pint she pulled was bad and being very patronising. The bartender who served us seemed quite distracted taking our order and got a few little things wrong, but nothing too serious. We sat and waited in the snug.. and just kept waiting. We were sat for a total of 45 minutes waiting for sandwiches bear in mind before we said anything, and the bar manager’s response was, ‘yes you will have a long wait because we’re very busy.’ We assumed he meant to restaurant because it was quiet in the bar area. Then he said we were told before ordering that it would be at least half an hour, which we said wasn’t true, and he asked for confirmation from the bartender who said she didn’t know anything about there being a long wait time. He then fell back to the excuse that it said there would be a 45 minute wait on the menu, but we looked and it wasn’t there. When he finally brought the food, we mentioned that it didn’t say anything, and he said ‘it will do’ and spent a while looking at the menu seemingly flabbergasted with the fact that I could, in fact, read. He put it down to it being on the other menu instead, but given that we hadn’t looked at that one as it is for larger meals, it was irrelevant. We also asked for an extra plate and he never brought it but we were fed up with trying to argue at that point. If we hadn’t have paid at the bar before eating we would have just walked out not because the food wasn’t fine, but because he absolutely refused to apologise, take any responsibility, or do the courteous thing and offer us a round of drinks as a gesture of goodwill."

"I recently returned from a two-night stay at this establishment. It served its purpose while we were there for a friend's birthday, but there are a few points I would like to mention for those considering booking here. Despite being advertised as a bed and breakfast on booking sites, there was no breakfast provided. The room was small and average, making it difficult to move around the bed. The only café in the village was closed on Saturdays, leaving only the local Coop or a trip to Skegness for food in the morning. The table in the room was covered in old spilled coffee, and there were dust and cobwebs present. The clean sheets were a positive aspect. The clock in the square chimed loudly every hour, keeping us awake throughout both nights. We were not warned about this beforehand. The room was positioned above the bar entrance, resulting in significant noise from people leaving for smoke breaks past midnight. The fire door in the corridor was propped open, potentially by another guest or the owners. The prices of beer were expensive compared to a pub nearby with a better tap selection. On the plus side, the pub offered affordable and generous portions of food until 7 pm. Parking in the square opposite was convenient. Additional milk, tea, and coffee were provided for the rooms. We would not choose to stay here again at such a high price, especially after finding cheaper and better-quality accommodations in the same village. We considered requesting a refund for the lack of breakfast. Check-out involved leaving the key in a tub near the residents' entrance."
