"It was anything but Jolly! I don’t think the staff wanted to be there or maybe they were all having a bad day. To begin with finding a menu that was not covered in grease was a challenge. We sat at the cleanest looking table for three, however the table top was still sticky. We ordered 2 scampi and chips and their burger and chips. When the food came it looked as if it had been thrown on the plate. The chips were few and there was no garnish or anything to make it look a little more appetising. The food was edible but nothing special. Looking around as we sat there I was shocked at just how filthy the place was. It really does need a deep clean. This place doesn’t do anything toward the reputation of Skegness, certainly will not be returning for pre theatre food or anything else."

The food is excellent as well as the service and best Guinness is Skegness. We come nearly every year.

Two staff members were constantly on their phones and the food was cold, so we can only give them a score of 0/10. View menu

Very disappointing food quality, service and cleanliness. The mix grill requested medium rare was overcooked and dry. Fish and Chips were returned as the batter lacked fish, apart from a very small dry section, horrible. Tables sticky. No one came to see if we were okay with our food either initially or after we had complained. The photo shows the remaining left inedible mixed grill. Walk past.

Came here for the first time to enjoy a classic fish and chips and it was shocking. The fish had no taste or seasoning at all, considering we’re near the sea it’s not great. The portion of chips was tiny and everything was swimming in grease, we weren’t the only ones to complain about the food either so the chef needs sorting out. Considering I paid above the local fish and chips prices I was expecting a lot better but won’t be coming back again. View menu

Very poor quality of food, chips came out cold with all 3 meals. Had to send a burger back as it was asked for as plain and even worse when it came back it was obvious they had just scraped off the excess as there were still remains on the burger including cheese between the two pieces of chicken. Evidently very lazy from the staff and to top it all off our waiter had attitude when having to take the burger back for the second time. I would recommend to stay clear.

Me and my friend came in we was looking at the menu and got watched walking to the other side of the pub to find a table, staff miserable and not giving great vibes at all. ordered a burger not what it advertised, we had the bbq Mac and cheese burger about 6 bits of Mac and cheese on it I can honestly say McDonald’s do better burgers. staff need to up there customer service skills will definitely NOT be returning. Tastes like rustlers burgers, as much as I didn’t want it, I paid for it so I forced myself to eat it.the bar tender then stood at the bar and took a video disguised

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
