"Firstly the food was quite nice and the place in general was nice. We sat inside as no space outside. The food was such a long wait which was not ideal with children. I would advice to sit outside only with children as then they could have been distracted with the playarea. I was surprised at the lack of staff on for a lunchtime, especially during the school holidays and on a nice day. Considering it was lunchtime when we turned up, there were no menus on the tables. I had to get in line of a queue of 6 people before me just to ask for a menu. The bar staff was on his own, but was also very slow. We then had a 40 minute wait which it does state on the menu is the norm. This did surprise me as most places state a 25 minute wait tops. I appreciate it was busy, but again the wait could have been avoided with a lot more staff on. It just wasn't enough for such a large place in the middle of the summer holidays."

Spacious outdoor area, perfect for dogs. I ordered the vegetable curry and it was bursting with delicious flavors. The pub has a great atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming.

Visited here during the week for lunch .. Food was good staff were friendly .. Slight wait for food something to consider if you have hungry children Play area around the back ideal for younger families and dogs welcome outside which suited us.

We stopped by for a drink and found the staff to be friendly, with a pleasant garden area. The food that others had ordered looked appealing, so we decided to have a meal. However, we were disappointed to find that the chicken burger was overly spicy and burnt. The onion rings lacked flavor, and the coleslaw was not enjoyable.

Arrived this lunch time and hoped to get some lunch with my husband and had our small dog with us . A very big bar area with lots of small rooms off it with only a hand full of people in them . Unfortunately we were told dogs were not allowed anywhere , a shame as so many people have dogs now and not what we’re used to in our home town

Booked a table for my Birthday as we had Family staying in Woodhall spa. Very friendly helpful staff who were always attentive. Food was delicious and the menu was varied enough to suit all of the different appetites. Really lovely setting too. The only complaint was the youngest thought his burger was a bit too charred around the edges but otherwise absolutely wonderful.

Food was lovely and had a nice long chat with the barman Adam who was really friendly. There is a couple of terraces, bar, and resteraunt to cater for so can u derstand the wait for food, its a lot bigger than I initially thought. There were several dogs outside with people eating so can't understand the person with the one star review saying dogs aren't welcome, there's literally drinking bowls provided for the dogs outside. Will deffinatley eat there again when we are in Woodhall spa next.

I have noticed some negative reviews about Lancaster Woodhall Spa, but I feel it is important to share how great this place actually is. The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and the staff provides exceptional service. We always choose to dine here whenever we are in the area, as the menu is simple and well-presented. While the wait for our meals can be 30-40 minutes, we find it acceptable as the food is freshly prepared and of high quality. The young staff members are professional, polite, and very helpful. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the salmon, and the Gnocchi which my wife adored. The Sunday carvery is a must-try, but make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Y...

Popped in here for a bite to eat on father's Day but with out the kids so was pleasantly surprised at the lack of others screaming kids you always seem to get on father's ,mothers days out. The first bad point was the shock at being charged just over 9 pounds for a little bottle of prosecco, even the lad behind the bar laughed when I questioned the price . We both had the steak sandwich with chips , with a side of house slaw . Steak sandwich was better than average, chips were very nice and the house slaw was terrible nothing more than a runny mess . Would we eat here again , yes the place is very nice kept very well ,prices are on the steep side and there are places just as good and also be...

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
