"Unfortunately we had an appalling experience. Terrible service, very long waits on food and drinks and it wasn't even busy. We had to repeatedly get up and go and remind staff we were waiting on drinks and then food. The waiter couldn't remember our order, but seemed to insist on not writing anything down and we had to keep correcting him on what we wanted. After nearly a 1 hour wait he came to ask again if it was the chicken I wanted and I said for the 3rd time, no the salmon, he had to admit he had told the kitchen the wrong order and re ordered my salmon so there would be a further delay. As someone who rarely complains and has a chef in the family, so I understand hospitality, we were shocked by how bad our experience was. The food was, thank god, ok and we did eat it, well we were very hungry by this point. They did slightly reduce the bill on account of delays and bad service we'd received, but only because i asked, and to be honest, they didn't seem embarrassed or bothered about it either. They seemed disinterested and disorganised. Oh, and to top it all off, 2 hours after finally eating my long awaited Tuscan Salmon, I spent the following two hours on the toilet at home with terrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea!! I will be contacting the manager. And just so any of you reading this know, I very, very rarely leave a review for anything, but this was so bad, I just had to. We live locally, but won't be returning obviously, such a shame. Faulty Towers springs to mind."

"2 of us booked as I heard it was nice and was really looking forward to trying here. We had 3 courses each and I was starving, my first 2 courses were fine, good pub grub. I ordered the sweet off the specials and unfortunately it was off, rancidly off. When they put it in front of me I could smell a horrible smell, I honestly didn’t think it would be the sweet so decided to try it, I had to spit it out. I could only describe the taste and smell as out of date cottage cheese and that is being polite. I did make the owner/manager aware and he took it away. He came back to say he had tasted it and it was fine, I explained it really wasn’t and even the smell was stomach wrenching but he continued to dispute this. His attitude wasn’t nice if I am honest. I was polite and discreet. Although he did not charge for the sweet I would suggest that maybe how he deals with customers and how he makes them feel should be addressed. I never, ever complain but when something is as off as this was I really do not expect the manager/owner to come out seem argumentative and then say there was nothing wrong with this. I just hope the sweet was taken straight off the menu as would have made someone ill. Such a shame as I left feeling very disappointed and I accept mistakes are made but due to the attitude I won’t be back nor recommend here due to how it was dealt with."

"I decided to order a box of patisseries for my boyfriend’s birthday. I Facebook messaged the page with my requirements and what type of patisseries my boyfriend likes. One of the lovely staff Nicky informed me they can make boxes for any amount of patisserie, and asked how many I would like in a box. She also asked if there is anything in particular I was looking for. The patisseries change each week, so she offered to let me know when the week’s menu was available. I had a hard time choosing from a coffee, pear and chocolate opera, a chocolate and orange opera, pistachio dacquois, honey and rosemary cheesecake, black forest gateau, raspberry gateau, and mango coconut snowballs. TC also have a selection of tarts that are available every day. I decided to order a box of 4 patisseries: a strawberry tart, a coffee, pear and chocolate opera, a mango and coconut snowball, and a honey and rosemary cheesecake. My boyfriend has tried the strawberry tart (and chocolate tart) before and really likes them, but I wanted to order some puddings he hasn’t tried before as a nice surprise! It paid off as he really enjoyed everything! The snowballs contain meringue and desiccated coconut, and are a really interesting pudding, I recommend trying this if you haven’t before. A lovely young girl in the cafe commented that she had been made aware the order was for a birthday present, and asked if I would like the box gift wrapping. She did a beautiful job. I was very pleased with all the puddings and I recommend to other customers to place an order for collection! You won't be disappointed."
