"I am so, so grateful Erlangen has this wonderful, Indian restaurant. I have been a returning guest for many, many years. Their food is delicious and varied, they have plentiful vegan options too. The owners are very friendly and often engage in little chats. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and a delightful interior, and there is no overpowering music, which is something I much appreciate, since it makes for a calm atmosphere and allows for conversation. The restrooms are pleasantly clean. And to top it off, Boliwood is conveniently situated in walking distance from downtown and the train station, with car parking opportunities very nearby."

"It's a nice café bar, which is always well attended. We had the British and Brazil breakfast (each about 7,6€). The portion is good and tasted very nice. The other dishes also looked delicious.It's perfect for a good breakfast in the morning, a snack or some drinks during the day and at night"

"Nach längerer Zeit habe ich in meiner kurzen Mittagspause man wieder das Bella Mia besucht. Nach dem ich Lust auf Nudeln verspürte, habe mich für die Rigatoni Bolognese entschieden. Vom zuvorkommen Service wurde dir Bestellung sehr schnell aufgenommen. Unerwartet und vermutlich um die Wartezeit zu verkürzen, wurde mir ein Gruß aus der Küche, ein kleiner Vorspeisen Salat serviert. Und kaum hatte ich diesen gegessen, standen die Rigatoni auch schon vor mir.Der Geschmack der servierten Speisen war sehr gut."

"We stumbled upon this gem when the restaurant we were aiming for had closed their kitchen (it was quite late). Friendly staff, great food, generous serves, pleasant ambiance, complimentary bruschetta at the start and aperitif at the end. It was very quiet because I think...the rest of the entire country was busy watching the European Championship Soccer on tv! Our family went back to dine days later and were just as impressed. They recognised us and were very chatty even helping my daughter practice some Italian (the owners are Italian). I asked them to recommend a dish and some wine and was thrilled with my meal the pasta with creamy mushroom sauce and truffle (which they grated at the table) together with the Verdicchio white wine was to die for and gave my whole family plate envy although no-one had any complaints about their own meals either. I am very happy to recommend this centrally located delightful restaurant."

"I visited with a work colleague in the evening. First impressions of the small restaurant we good and we were made very welcome. There were plenty of other diners. The menu made good reading with similar dishes to other Indian restaurants. Unfortunatley that is where...the similarity stopped. The pompadoms seemed as if they were straight out of a supermarket shelf. We ordered a mixed starer for 2 and received a plate full of vegatbles tempura that was terrible. We left most of that. The main course curries were similarly disappointing, sharp in taste as well as hot of course. not an ingredient in sight in the sauce (cardomum pod, onion etc) just a sauce. This place has received some good reviews so maybe we caught it on an off night, anyway I shall give it a mis next time"

"I really look forward to going here for a breakfast some day untill now I went here for lunch OK nothing really special, but I choose a sandwich and the crepes others were eating looked very promising, so I guess I have myself...to blame here and a coffee around but when I see the breakfast plates I just want to go there one morning and indulge myself. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to get served, so don't go there if you are in a hurry. But if you want to spend a nice morning, drinking coffee and talking with a friend, or reading writing, I feel this is a great place to be. Will be back"

"Set in the old part of Erlangen this steak and seafood restaurant was a real find. The main reason to come here are the steaks, which are well worth the price. We had the Bavarian Gold and we were not disappointed. Served with a selection...of sides the meal was good as was the service. Well worth a visit if you are in town. "We've been here with a group of friends on Valentine's day 2017 - by choosing the date for our monthly Stammtisch (where we always try out new restaurants) we unfortunately fully underestimated the influence of this special day.When we arrived at the restaurant it was very busy and filled to capacity - but "luckily" we have had pre-ordered a table for ten persons. But to our astonishment two of the ten reserved seats have already been occupied by an foreign couple that did not belong to our group - and therefore initially caused some inconveniences as there were not enough seats available for us. The Service:After finally being seated we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to take our orders. Then, another 20 minutes later, our starters were served before the drinks arrived at the table – sad to say but all in all not very well organised.The waiters serving us seemed to be unlearned and overchallenged with their work in the beginning and as a result quite inattentive. Later in the evening – with less business - this changed fortunately.The Atmosphere: When we’ve been at Persia Restaurant it was very crowded and loud, so that conversations were only possible with your seat neighbour next to you.In addition to that, we’ve missed some ‘cosy’, more separated sitting areas which generate kind of a feel-good or comfort zone. The Food:For us the food was a relatively new and really good taste adventure!We have had “Kuku Sabzi” (No. 9, kind of a very herbal pancake) as a starter, which my wife and me enjoyed very much whereas a friend of ours didn’t like it.Our main courses then were “Djudje Tehroni” (no. 69, grilled chicken) and “Djudje Soltani Tehroni” (no. 71, grilled chicken and minced meat). The meat of both dishes were very good marinated and offered with basmati rice, grilled vegetables and a relatively sweet pomegranate-sauce, which I could recommend.Whether the sauce would be worth the difference of about 4 Euros compared to the same dish without sauce, one needs to decide for him-/herself …The Prices: For the “exotic exclusivity” as well as the quality and quantity offered we consider the prices to be adequate but relatively pricy.My personal Conclusion:Despite the fact that I’ve somehow missed the “customer satisfaction first - profit maximisation second” spirit on this evening we as a group had a nice evening with good food and talks.Service in the beginning unfortunately was poor but improved during the evening – in this regard: thanks for the complimentary signature shot on the house!Presumably we will give them a second try - but next time definitely not on a holiday or Valentine’s day ..."

"Das Mittagsangebot vom vergangenen Freitag lockte uns mal wieder ins Bogarts :Gebackene Scholle mit Kartoffelsalat und Remoulade .Mit fangfrischem Seefisch wird's bei uns im Süden eher nix , das ist allgemein bekannt . Deshalb kommt die Scholle als TK-Produkt an , was ihrem Wohlgeschmack aber nicht abträglich ist .Leider ist das Bogarts inzwischen in die Jahre gekommen und hat sich wohl um die eine oder andere Renovierung gedrückt .Besonders deutlich wird das im Toilettenbereich , aber auch die teilweise waghalsige Elektroinstallation trägt hier ihren Teil bei ."

"Pizza, Pizza, This place has by far the best pizza in Erlangen. I really can't tell you much about the other food there because I'm hooked on the pizza and that's what I always get, #17 with the hot salami and extra onions and the...Zindorfer Keller beer. Damn my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The pizza sauce is to die for. My girlfriend says the half chickens are good and the salad has the best homemade Italian dressing. "Ich habe am 27.05.2017 meinen 50. Geburtstag mit "family & friends" gefeiert. Der Tisch war wunderschön und sehr liebevoll geschmückt, genau meine Farben :-) Es gab toll zusammengestellte Vorspeisenplatten, so dass man sich mal durch sämtliche Geschmäcker "durchprobieren" konnte, sehr lecker und auch was fürs Auge, schön angerichtet.Die Hauptgerichte à la carte... wie immer top, jeder hat etwas gefunden und jeder war begeistert. Alle meine Gäste haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt, ich natürlich auch! Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient, also es gibt einfach nichts zu meckern. Wir kommen gerne wieder.... :-)"

"We, a party of 8 people with a reservation, had an awful experience with the manager this evening. We ordered our food ,2 mixed platters of meat and various cold appetizers) and after an hour and 15 minutes almost nothing had arrived. We asked twice if the food was almost done as we were getting hungry, only to be given a surly answer by the waitress that the kitchen has the order already . Eventually we asked if we could speak to the manager, who flew into a rage in front of all the other guests in the restaurant. She held the order slip from the kitchen in her hand and said how can we expect our food to be ready after an hour on a busy Friday evening . I must stress that we only asked to speak to her and we did not act in an aggressive way toward her. Her behaviour was shameful and unprofessional. It is especially ashame as it was my friend 's birthday celebration. Wir, eine Gruppe von 8 Personen mit Reservierung, hatten heute Abend ein schreckliches Erlebnis mit der Managerin. Wir bestellten unser Essen ,2 gemischte Fleischplatten und verschiedene kalte Vorspeisen) und nach einer Stunde und 15 Minuten war fast nichts angekommen. Wir fragten zweimal, ob das Essen fast fertig sei, als wir hungrig wurden, nur um von der Kellnerin eine mürrische Antwort zu bekommen, dass die Küche bereits die Bestellung hat . Schließlich fragten wir, ob wir mit der Managerin sprechen könnten, der vor allen anderen Gästen im Restaurant in Wut geriet. Sie hielt den Bestellschein aus der Küche in der Hand und sagte: Wie können wir erwarten, dass unser Essen nach einer Stunde an einem Freitagabend so schnell fertig wird . Ich muss betonen, dass wir nur darum gebeten haben, mit ihr zu sprechen, und dass wir nicht aggressiv gegenüber ihr gehandelt haben. Ihr Verhalten war beschämend und unprofessionell. Es ist besonders beschämend, da es die Geburtstagsfeier meiner Freundin war."

"This is perhaps the worst restaurant I had the misfortune of going to. My friend and I decided to eat at this restaurant because we were hankering for Mexican food. We arrived around 6 and, after a day of shopping, our stomach was grumbling. To...start the meal, we ordered nachos loaded with chili con carne. I ordered ribs and my friend a burrito for our main course. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting for our appetizer. The restaurant was not even full. We politely informed the server about this and he responded in an angry voice. OKKK. Finally, it came and it was a total fail. Soggy chips need I say more? I kid you not, but it took another 30 minutes for our ribs and burritos to arrive. Again, we complained. We really wanted to walk out of the restaurant, but we didn't want to look for another restaurant in a city, where parking is difficult. Stupid of us actually for staying. The food came and it was unforgettable. Do not even think about coming here. It is seriously not worth your euros. The food is so so and the service is really awful. Did I tell you we had to wait for 10 minutes for the bill, even after informing three different servers?"

"My German girlfriend and I visited here to have breakfast it's the first time we've been here in a couple of years. We ordered a few items from the regular breakfast menu, which were prepared and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The...food was okay, though condiments are provided in their singleserve packaging plastic sachet each of mustard, butter, and jam it would be nicer if they were better presented in small dishes or the like it just makes the place seem cheap... ...as does the unfriendly waitress who served us. Really, how difficult is it to try and seem at least a little bit welcoming and pleasant when waiting on diners? Our waitress was cold and unfriendly, and seemed unable to operate the card payment facilities correctly while we were trying to pay, she couldn't get my Mastercard to work, then declined to try my other credit card I was carrying also a MC, then took four attempts to get my GF's German bankcard to work. No apology for the wait or hassle. The visit would have been okay apart from the lacklustre service several local friends have reported similarly poor experiences here, so we won't be burdening 'Sax' with our business again"
