"we came to lunch instead of a drink, so maybe we would have had a better experience later, but our lunch was not good. the menu is a small chalkboard. all vegetarian and vegan apart from 2 options. to be honest, the choice was not very welcoming and when we asked about the curry, the waitress brought it into a tupperware that was pretty clean. then we have seen their microwave our meal times (sausage casserole and chickpea curry) after the other and brought them to the table. the curry was ok; it lubricated from curry powder and the cherry pebbles were a little under. the wormstone pot was terrible. it was very watery, bland and the veg was mudy. I wouldn't go back."

"Food was nice but bar and restaurant service very poor. I was surprised not be offered anything to go with our pre dinner drinks not even a menu buy something from! I think that there were not enough staff, as a result some of the dishes were not very hot and the wine did not arrive on time. The glasses on the table were not cleared and so there was very little room. Attention to service detail and more staff would help."

"This new pub has the potential to be a hidden gem in Folkestone. It is a well-designed pub with tasteful decor and the food is also excellent. We took advantage of the "pie and pint' offer today for £10, which was a great value. Luke, the owner, takes good care of ensuring that customers are happy. Well done, sir!"

"first a vegan has to go to folkestone and get some chocolate from the steep street. they can buy beautiful small crates of them, and when the shop at the side is open they choose their own. yum! steep street itself is especially famous for its glorious cakes and for the happiness its vegan options are always better. I remember my disappointment if they had only ever been healthy happy balls and jacks instead of the delicious sugary sponges I would have enjoyed as vegetarian. they have made some nice banana loaves etc., and the last time that I had in them a heavenly and white chocolate vegan sponge and it was delicious. to the happiness for my waist they usually close when I walk past my way home!. definitiw a great one to come down the old high street to the harbour."

"We ate here Saturday afternoon with the whole family it was lovely. The service was great and the food was beautiful! I had a ham and mustard baguette with salad and a side of chips. The ham was beautifully cooked the chips were the best I've had In a long time! We had two very very hungry, very tired, inquisitive toddlers in our party everyone was so patient with us, my eldest even managed to lock herself in the men's toilets! This is a child and doggy friendly pub, the way it's supposed to be. We all had a very enjoyable time here! Thank you for making our afternoon fab"

"The mixed grill at this restaurant is too expensive for the portion size. The lamb chops had an odd flavor and were quite small, with only 2 on the plate. The accompanying chips were very small, more suitable for a child. Overall, the meal was not worth the price paid. Additionally, the separate order of small chips was undercooked and the chicken steak had a rancid taste, making it inedible. I was very dissatisfied with my meal overall."

"I was thoroughly impressed with my first experience at this restaurant. I enjoyed two delicious coffees, two amazing sausage rolls, and a strawberry and cream frappe. The total cost was £16, and the quality of the food was excellent. I will definitely be returning in the future."

"We visited here 28/08/22 we sat outside wasn’t acknowledged at all, parter went in and said what do we do, told they come to table took order after he went in again waited another 20 mins/ a group sat next to us was told they would take there order our order came out with consisted of a coke and 2 latte Coffees one coffee was so dark it looked like an espresso parter mention this to the waitress and she talked at him so rudely stating it’s a double shot the same of the other one he said look at the colour she took the coffee and when off in between this our food then arrived we ordered a sausage and egg and bacon baguette and bacon sandwich Anyways I was like let not mention the sausage, Anyway they finished there food and then appeared my coffee we been sat there nearly 50 mins by this time the group of people that sat next to us then tried to order food They were spoken to so badly that I was actually Embarrassed for them they were told to sit On the benches outside and this rude girl said, That’s not Ours and we are busy so breakfast Finishes at 12 it was 11.40 She then went on to say to them that we really busy and basically we don’t want your custom I went in to pay and used the toilet I was totally shocked where the till was literally a cupboard hole right next to the toilet and the toilet let was covered in black mould I think environmental health should be made aware. Terrible service from a terrible place avoid"

"Google Photos of this place are unfortunately extremely misleading. Apparently there's nothing from the menu served here anymore due to COVID. Only baked goods coffee. I mean it all looked amazing and surely tasted great too but having driven here especially to have a nice breakfast bowl.. or something cooked... we ended up very disappointed. Especially checked updates and recent posts but none of them mentioned anything about food not being served. Maybe in the future.. :"

"Absolutely lovely cafe, serving delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended. Really nice staff. Great options for kids, and the portion sizes on kids meals are generous.Comfortable, lovely location on a steep and quaint street. Quite compact, and I am genuinely impressed at the level and quality of the food they make and serve in their small and impeccably clean kitchen. It is quite open to see the chef's at work, and they clearly have a passion for keeping things clean and tidy.They have some lovely cakes on offer, but I was so full from lunch I didn't have room... So asked if they could package up some slices for us to take home. They were quite happy to pack up some lovely cake slices for us in take-away boxes, and even wrote the names on the boxes.A real gem of a cafe, and I will certainly stop in again if I make it back to Folkstone... And would go so far as to say this little cafe may be the inspiration for a return trip really soon.Absolutely lovely and enjoyable."

"Stopped here around 6-7pm on a Friday night after a long journey across France, fresh off the euro tunnel. We went as a family of four. The place was absolutely rammed to the rafters but the staff were super accommodating, they did their best to fit us in, waiters and waitresses were lovely. Couldn't do enough for us. Super friendly. Food was super tasty and came out very fast. Cocktails were lovely. Would 100% come.back!"

"The salmon packet starter was very good. For my main course, I ordered the stifado, which was served very hot. The waiter also brought a Greek salad to accompany it, which was a nice surprise as it wasn't listed on the menu. However, the meat was very tender but overly watery, lacking in flavor. It seemed like the chef may have been aware of this, hence the Greek salad. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at the restaurant, especially since a friend had recommended it."

"Marley's has a pretty decent menu with main dishes and small plates suitable for a tapas style meal. I had the crispy thyme dumplings with a kale salad and potatoes topped with beetroot mayo, all very tasty. The pakora is also excellent served with a very smooth, creamy houmous. Their bigger dishes include a house made seitan steak, they seem to change how it's served every now and then but I had it with potatoes, pumpkin puree and gravy delicious and it's great to have seitan in a restaurant. Their sweet options are also good, with a decent range of cakes (including gluten free) and a really good hot chocolate. Updated from previous review on 2023 04 03"

"my friend took me here as a surprise for our jubilee, so I was really excited when we arrived. we are both vegan and was pleasantly surprised to see such a great selection of vegan dresses! it was hard to choose from the menu as everything sounds delicious, so we decided to share 3 netzen what was a good idea! we had the tar, the bier broken banana blossom, and the heap meat bowl. we also shared two puddings (again we could not decide) we had the treacle sponge and the beetroot brownie. the presentation and love for the detail was amazing on each individual dish. the taste was even better, the best vegan meal we had so far. would be highly recommended (even if they are not vegan) and we will definitely come back! we will spread the word."

"beautiful small caffe with a surprisingly extensive menu. many vegetarian options and quite decent vegan choice, including a whole day cooked breakfast for only £7.50 including a drink of choice. the brekkie included hash browns, sausages, beans, good quality toast, spinat, tomaten, avocados and mushrooms and was beautiful and fill, and I always like the uptake of spinat in a fry up as not only it goes surprisingly well, but it makes it a bit healthy I got no chance to try some cake on this cake but I know of their Facebook page they have"
