"Good 1st impression of the ambiance. I liked the wall paintings, however the big tv screen advertising their offerings was distracting and didn't seem to fit in. Service was attentive and friendly. As a solo guest, they treated me the same as other guests. I...actually liked the free chips and tomato dip. I ordered a cheese tapas plate to start. It was actually quiet large for an appetizer. It was 6 slices or more of sliced cheese. They by accident brought grilled peppers for another table, which looked really good and I would try next time. The aioli served with bread had a strong and pleasant garlic flavour. Admittedly I ate too much of it. For mains I ordered a mixed seafood rice dish coated with spicy tomato sauce. There were little shrimp and mini octopus in it as well as a few mussels (not all too many, taken out of shell). It had a deep seafood flavour, some of it was slightly chewy but overall not bad. The rice was al dente and the added chickpeas gave it a creamy texture. The corn wasn't so noticeable. There was a hint of spice but it wasn't really spicy. Overall a little lime/lemon juice would have brightened it up 1 cooked lemon slice served) as well as cilantro. I didn't appreciate the tomato and cucumber slices as garnish, chopped in the dish for something fresh would have been nicer. Cocktail, todays special, pina colada was good. Price is good, paid 20.7 for main, appetizer and cocktail. If you think of it as tex mex and not Mexican, with good drinks, it doesn't seem bad."

Mm! Leckerbar

"Update September 2021: It survived! A courageous step was to open a second place in the Freiburger Kulturmeile Bertoldstraße with the arg self-knitted concept (see below). In short, Corona and the great time of the thumb press came. The original location in Nussmannstr. was quickly orphaned and empty. But Fladimir and Co are actually perfect LockDown companions, and so the location with large window areas seems in new glamour. The beginnings were: you need to get a tip or read GoLocal to find this place. The corner of KaJo/Nußmannstraße has already ended Freiburg's city centre. The concrete grey back wall of Karstadt shapes the always dark alley, the Alibi Bächle is basically covered with iron plates, the few shops on the north side glow with empty and dusty shop windows. But suddenly a frog of green pencil! And tables and benches!! One of the shops was revived. I walk the clean and friendly place. Cooled wooden beams on the walls, a few high tables and a large mating shape the impression. A circulating letter preaches Fairtrade, healthy food and conscious life; I'm sure Bio is somewhere. For the first time in the bar: What is there? The large map provides information: In the modular system you should put your food together as desired. Soups, salads, noodles, bread or frits form the basis. The toppings can be added at an additional cost. Nicely coloured, but unclear. And since you cannot see the products, there is no incentive to knock. The bread is very delicious. And with a homemade guacamole a real pleasure. But also the salad Provencale is tasty, but uncomfortable. The olives and paprika or Zuccini pieces do not want to remain on bread or be eaten. The only non-vegetarian food is probably Chilli con Carne. Of course I ordered this, am I Carnivore or what?! That was also very juicy and very sharply dosed. There are self-filled juices, smoothies and the indispensable Fritz Cola. A monster coffee machine throne also behind the counter and promises caffeine in. To speed up the process, Pager will be distributed again, unlike Vapiano, you will receive the food you ordered together, but also at the same time. Nevertheless, the few tables are always occupied with blue flashing Pags in waiting position, the small room ultimately offers too little space. The toilet has already been saved. Who has to rise up to the fourth floor towards Karstadt when the pager reaches that point? The staff is friendly and prepares the selected ingredients lovingly. Operation and cleaning is, however, the customer service. This means that the customer has to do it himself... The concept does not seem completely round. But for everything, the green Smiley grins from the company logo and stretches out his tongue. Update August 2018: Nu is closed. But only temporarily. My legacy about the concept has finally convinced operators to be rebuilt immediately. The modular system is replaced by the new wake-up glass system: customer chooses food in the glass that is output by the kitchen flap. Theke is missing, drinks will be in self service. Whether fladimir or bread fits into the glass or is removed must be maintained... The concept comes from the food truck of the operator, there it works. But whether the visitors of the local bar will appreciate it? For nostalgists like Kubier, the path to the branch remains in the Bertoldstr. There everything remains in the module!"

"Eric Lasaille took over the panoramic hotel that had come in the years. The former Hunterhäusle had survived the long decline of the hotel somewhat, but the renovation shop had also arrived in guest rooms and kitchen. Chez Eric is a fresh (French wind). The ubiquitous patron welcomes every guest personally and advises on the selection. The guest rooms are not yet fully ventilated for my taste, but the charm of the early eighties is designed with the train. As the weather allows, it attracts me and all the others under 90 years to the spacious panoramic terrace the real jewel of this location! From here you can enjoy a unique view over Rheintal, Kaiserstuhl and Freiburg, in clear weather far into Alsace. It is possible to enjoy the changing weather during the meal, due to the terrace plant, a rain shower can also sit dry. Beautiful sunsets (which want to go to Key West?, thunderstorms above the Kaiserstuhl, snowy vosges, the distractions from the services of the kitchen are massive. But they should be considered here. Mr Lassaille buys fish and oysters in France according to his own requirements. Asterix readers know the best fish from Paris, Freiburg's Rentalnix proves to be impressive. Hummer, oysters, imperial grenades are nowhere fresher than here and perfectly served in this region. wishes of the guest are taken into account, the council is competent. The changing daily map also offers some franko Mediterranean enticing. On a rainy autumn day it was finally ready: I could resist the fish offer AND found a like-minded co-eater. The chateaubriand for two people was finally within reach and exceeded all expectations! A quality that in no way depends on the fish competence of the house, a preparation for the desired point and also visually a great pleasure. In addition, a homemade sauce beernaise in exactly the right all-saure note and classic rosemary salads. Have not eaten any better Chateaubriand yet and there are some cattle... The wine map is extensive and well sorted with a regional and (expected South French focus). Here too, despite perhaps implicit preferences, one should use the quality of advice, it is worth it! The service is very attentive and professional from the first moment. This really very good overall performance has its price, but it is worth it!"
