"I had ordered the Fish Platter Menu earlier that week for Good Friday 29/3/24 which was £22. I live alone and thought the time it would take me to buy all the ingredients and the hassle to cook, it would cost me than £22. The friendly receptionist called me the day before to find out what time I wanted to collect the Platter. On collection I was surprised to see how large the the Platter was. It consisted of a large Escovitch Fish, a smaller Bream, Fish Fritters, Mac Cheese, Corn on the Cob, Plaintain, Large portion of Rice and Peas, Gravy and Coleslaw. The food was absolutely delicious and as I said the portions were large, the food lasted me over 2 days, I was very impressed. I’ve also dined-in and done takeaways over the years and I’m never disappointed. Judy"

"I'm proud to call myself a weekly regular and I've been eating at Gina's cafe for many, many years. As someone who both enjoys food and travels a lot, I can, hand on heart, say that Gina's Cafe is my favourite cafe. Period. I've very rarely had a bad experience here, and I always leave satisfied. I'm a huge fan of the chicken curry with chips or the ham, cheese and mushroom omelette. The salad is very fresh and the chips are perfect! The staff are very pleasant and always take care to speak to my 6 year old son if he eats well, they let him choose a lolly before he leaves. Pricing is about what you'd expect from a cafe and the quality and cleanliness is superb. There is only one toilet, accessed from the garden, however it is clean. I would avoid trying to get a table at the busiest times it is normally very busy here and would recommend not sitting directly next to the front door or on the smallest tables if there is more than one person dining. There are some high chairs available, and a good selection of hot and cold drinks."

"My husband and I had a date night dinner , The lamb Biryani and Saag Aloo, were the worst I have ever had. I couldn 't eat the Saag Aloo because it was too hot with whatever they had added, chillies or spices I managed to eat a small amount of the Biryani but again any aromatic flavours were overpowered by the added spices or chillies. My mouth and lips were burning. We didn 't eat all of the meal. I would have told the waitress when we paid the bill if she had bothered to ask if we enjoyed the meal. We have been there before but there should not be such inconsistency with the flavour of the food. We will vote with our feet and not bother again. We will stick to the Gurkha in Chatham in future."

"Was looking for a gastropub and this place was suggested on Google, and it didn’t disappoint. A quaint and local pub for a lovely lunch with mum. All fresh food, cooked very very well, and decent sized portions. We had the pate to start, sea bass with salsa verde for main and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. The pudding was so soft and fresh. There were good veggie and vegan options available too. Free parking literally opposite the pub."

"I've been here several times and always had a good experience. This time I met a couple of friends and we enjoyed drinks with scones and a very tasty sausage roll and chilli jam. The waiting staff are always polite, friendly and accommodating. A very popular place, so I usually book online."

"I do not go on trip adviser much, but had to have my say regarding my experience Sunday. Firstly, I would like to say thank you for your team, I had the lamb shank, which was absolutely stunning. My wife had the Roast Beef to which she enjoyed immensely, the meat and potatoes were to die for. The staff was very professional, the landlady (Heather) was very attentive. Unfortunately, we were sat near a very large table, I believe they were from the local church or something, I have never heard such foul mouthed language coming from a few woman, most of the group were very polite. They were absolutely horrid to the staff to which they made her visibly upset, my wife and I felt so sorry for the young waitress. Thankfully the vicar apologised for their behaviour. We certainly will be returning this Sunday again for a roast, we will be in contact to book. See you soon."

"We are regular customers of Darjeeling Heights and have seen the quality and flavour of the dishes become incredibly poor lately. Pre covid the restaurant had gone downhill and then improved, sadly the quality has now reduced drastically. The food was was super greasy and barely palatable. The meal dishes are a reasonable price but when you look forward to a Friday night takeaway and it’s disgusting in both size and taste, it’s pretty annoying. We are waving goodbye to this place, also this explains why the restaurant was empty during a busy period. Save your money and find another place for tastier food!"

"Highlights: Booked the Christmas Lunch menu for 8 people, Pre Ordered. Arrived and no Christmas Lunch was available. Ordered from the Sunday Lunch menu instead. Waited ages for the food, which did not come out at the same time. Quality of the food was actually good but it 's not an experience I wish to repeat. Complained numerous times. No idea who was responsible probably never find out. 5 weeks ago I made a phone booking for 8 people for the Christmas Lunch menu. I visited in person 3 weeks ago with a Pre Order of our food choices and provided written confirmation of the booking (and paid a £10 per head deposit . Imagine my surprise when I turned up to find we would not be provided any of the Christmas lunch we had ordered. The reason the Kitchen (which is run as a separate business!! had recently been changed to new management. I enquired why had nobody thought to contact me after all I have provided a written booking well according to the Bar Manager that was someone 's fault but not hers, but she would investigate. We were offered the Sunday Lunch menu instead. We asked to see the menu and had a mobile phone thrust forward as, at the time, they hadn 't got any physical menu 's. The starters were all fish seafood related. 3 of the party decided to select the white bait. We wanted to order our Mains at the same time but the Server never came back. After waiting 40 minutes I returned to the Bar Manager and asked why we were waiting so long. She visited the Kitchen and was told they were just plating them up, and they did arrive shortly thereafter. After Starters were consumed we were able to order our Mains. We feared this may also take some time to appear...and we weren 't disappointed. About 40 minutes later the Server came out with one meal, and we had high hopes the remaining 7 meals would come out rapidly thereafter. No, but another table did receive their order. Our 'lucky ' diner almost finished their meal before the rest of us were able to start to enjoy ours. 15 minutes from 1st meal to last meal. The Roast we had was good quality, well cooked and extensive. If we wanted Salt, Pepper, Napkins, Sauces etc that wasn 't on offer, but available if we asked! We had intended to have a Desert but as we 'd already been there 2 hours and none of us could stand the thought of waiting another prolonged period for the final course we decided to call it a day. I returned to the Bar and asked for an itemised Bar bill, which I got and checked, and paid it. When I turned around the Server was next to me thrusting her card reader at me. I said I wanted an itemised bill and she disappeared. When she re appeared she had written the items we had ordered on her pad and the prices for each. I agreed to pay some of the Food bill (2 3rds but not the full bill. I explained the reasons for my decision to the Server and the Bar Manager. In view of the issues I experienced I asked to speak to the Owner. I was told he was not available so I asked if he would call me to discuss my experience, hence I have waited 2 days expectantly for his call before publishing this review. I 'm pretty certain that I 'll never get a call but I wouldn 't be surprised if he replies to this review with some rubbish. If anyone has ever visited a pub restaurant where you are told they operate as 2 separate businesses please let me know...and I 'll avoid it like the plague!"

"We booked a table here for bottomless brunch so that the bride to be's, hair and makeup trial didn't go to waste! We all went for the Spanish tapas as our food choice on the menu, and it was delicious, especially the Prawns and Halloumi. They've recently changed the drinks options on the bottomless, but I was grateful they had gin and tonic, but all the girls enjoyed the cocktails from the list. The venue allowed the maid of honour to place decorations up in advance of us arriving at 3 pm, and the staff were all very accommodating. After our brunch, there was a house dj on, which wasn't the brides thing, so we did end up moving on, but we loved the entire experience from beginning to end. Thank you, Poco staff. You were awesome!! Highly recommend!!"

"We stayed here in December, check in was easy, the room was pleasant enough. We went out for the afternoon and came back to enjoy the pub early evening. The boss was away and whilst i completely understand a little bit of while the cat 's away... the evening was horrendous. We decided, after a fight in the pub area, to call it a night and retreated to our room, i had forgotten to ask what time breakfast was, so went back downstairs and had to interrupt the bar staff who were more interested in their evening than talk to me. We decided we would talk to somebody at breakfast the following morning but the person serving breakfast was run off her feet and we were in a rush so I emailed that evening on arriving home. I received a call almost straight away and was promised to be contacted by the owner of the pub when he arrived back from his holiday around the 18th December. I genuinely believed this as the person making the call was as horrified as us at the events the night before. The call never arrived but i suspected Christmas would be their busy time so i waited until January and sent another email, this time it was completely ignored, hence this review. I try to be fair and have been very patient before leaving this review but the lack of communication has been terrible. I would not recommend this pub/hotel to anybody."

"A lovely venue in a converted old barn, a really nice cosy bar area to sit and have a drink. The upstairs restaurant is very nice but a little too dark for my eyesight. Good menu with different offerings to the usual. Generally the food is good. The Pashwari Naan is the best we have ever had. The Prawn dishes are very good. However for me personally I always find the chicken not as tender as I would like and the Dhansak is too mild, it should have more spice. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Prawn Puri, Curry Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant. The Thai menu was delicious and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. The Chicken Pad Thai Noodles were a nice portion and had fantastic taste, not too spicy. I also tried the Beef Massaman and Egg Fried Rice which were also amazing. The meat was tender and the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone. Great job, Rose Inn Team! "Went here on the back of reading all the glowing reports on trip advisor and I have to say I am really let down.. I am a lone traveller so it takes a lot for me to walk into a pub on my own and the welcome I got was anything but friendly. I went into the ‘quiet’ side of the pub and waited patiently for the staff to serve me. Having gone in the pub for dinner after a long day travelling I was greeted by a less than happy face Which instantly put me on the back foot! when I asked politely if they were serving food I got a very abrupt ‘no’ with no explanation. I asked why and was told in a very curt and rude manner that there was no chef. With that I turned around and left the pub immediately. I do not think in this day and age there is any excuse for rudeness when all that needed to be said was an apology explaining there was no chef this evening."

"My wife, daughter, and I visited this restaurant last night. We had been loyal customers of High Mings for the past 5 years until it closed, and had been struggling to find a decent replacement until we discovered this place. The food was delicious, fresh, well-prepared, and not greasy. I would even say that this Chinese restaurant is better than our previous favorite. We are excited to return in the future. Wow it was absolutely amazing meat melts in the mouth and the flavour is absolutely spot on! We don't drive this is...why we haven't been before. Usually going to a kebab shop in Wood Green North London .This place was on par if not better and I have very high standards with food and will travel for miles if needs be. "What a fantastic afternoon! A very welcome refuge from the rain. The setting is perfect, right on the high-street. The decor is quaint and very pretty… highly Instagramable lol! The staff are so lovely here and actually bother to take the time to engage in conversation and make you feel very welcome. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The menu is nicely varied leaving you spoilt for choice. Speaking of spoilt… the cakes here are delicious!!! … for a change I tried something from their festive menu… the lemon and cranberry scones were a delightful twist on a classic! So accommodating and hospitable, I would highly recommend coming here if you fancy a nice bite to eat or even just a coffee and cake. We were served by the lovely Harriet :"

"The worst restaurant I have EVER been in. I seriously can’t even begin to explain what a shambles this restaurant is. Let’s put it this way, have you ever been cursed at by a member of staff in a restaurant? No, me neither until last night at the sultan. Disgusting restaurant with service to match."

"No taste , very bland , chicken was tough, onion bhaji's looked liked they were slapped dashed in the bag, rice was watery , nann bread ment to be a peshwari and good job we had a microwave. Even the dog turned her nose up .. Wont be ordering again waste of money."
"The food and service at this restaurant were superb, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by the shouting and swearing coming from the customers in the nearby bar. My wife and I were constantly bombarded by a string of profanities throughout our meal, which was embarrassing. The close proximity of the bar to the restaurant, with no intervening doorway, suggests that this is a regular occurrence, which I cannot recommend to friends. Despite this, I must reiterate that the food and service were excellent. Thank you. Ronald Brown."

"I've slept on this review because this is someone's business and their hard work is important. What was ok good was the starters and the appearance of the restaurant, clearly alot of work went into place. The main thing was service. Sat down just after 17.30 and things were extremely slow. Staff not attentive and at points rude. Had to ask for glasses to be removed as table was getting cramped with dead glasses. Had to ask for more drinks. Had to ask for plates to be removed. Never been in a restaurant where they deliver drinks one by one, dinner one by one, from the point of the 1st meal arriving on the table there was 8 10mins long minutes until the last meal arrived singularly with gaps.... table of 8. Quality of food was poor, cheese burger a stable of a USA themed place was cold, extremely compacted and cold and minus the cheese. Sent back arrived with 2 ice cold slices of cheese stuck on the top. Lamb shank thing was dry, tasted very salty and for the price extremely underwhelming. Chicken on the chicken and ribs was overcook dry and blackened. Ribs were quite nice. Some ingredients seemed cheap..... and for the price point it should not seem cheap. To be fair the curry was very nice and maybe we caught the place on a bad day. I did speak to the owner who apologised but not really accepting of any negative comment. A three plus hour visit which felt drawn out and overall unimpressed."
