"My husband and I had a date night dinner , The lamb Biryani and Saag Aloo, were the worst I have ever had. I couldn 't eat the Saag Aloo because it was too hot with whatever they had added, chillies or spices I managed to eat a small amount of the Biryani but again any aromatic flavours were overpowered by the added spices or chillies. My mouth and lips were burning. We didn 't eat all of the meal. I would have told the waitress when we paid the bill if she had bothered to ask if we enjoyed the meal. We have been there before but there should not be such inconsistency with the flavour of the food. We will vote with our feet and not bother again. We will stick to the Gurkha in Chatham in future."

"I hired Nutmeg’s privately on a recent Sunday afternoon to celebrate a milestone birthday with 15 friends and I have to say we all had the most perfect afternoon. From start to finish the two lovely ladies ,the chef and our very own personal waitress, could not have been more helpful or accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious, many of my friends were new to Nutmegs and commented on how good the food was. There was such a relaxed atmosphere and a great ambiance, we all had so much fun . It’s a pleasure to support an independent local business and I would thoroughly recommend . A little gem ."

"Nice and big pub with a good menu section of food.and all you would expect for drinks as well. There is a car park next door with a very good amount of space. The food they serve is really well portioned and is really tasty! I would even argue the portions are too big, but don't think it's a bad thing at all! The outdoor seating area is perfect for those summer days and the indoor area has a few TVs scattered around to watch the latest game should you wish! Overall thumbs up."

"We had a pleasant dining experience at Darjeeling Heights. The food was consistently delicious, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our son feel welcome. The owner even checked in on us to ensure everything was to our liking. Our order included lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, chicken dansak, two orders of rice, a roti, naan, bombay potatoes, and two starters. We also enjoyed 6 poppadoms and 3 beers, and the bill came to £92, which was slightly higher than other local Indian restaurants. Despite the price, we would definitely return, particularly for the Sunday lunch buffet."

"Have been to Confucius several times for dinner and it is always great. You pick your starters and second course first. Then once finished, it's onto the mains. The very friendly and attentive staff come back to see if you would like more of that course. For starters, we had the Sesame Prawn Toast, Crispy Seaweed, Barbecued Spare Ribs and Chicken Satay Skewers. For second course, we had the Mongolian Lamb with Garlic Sauce and the Crispy Aromatic Duck with Pancakes. For mains, it was the Crispy Chilli Beef Peking Style, Kings Prawns with Garlic Peppercorn, Singapore Rice Vermicelli Noodles and Special Fried Rice. The food was absolutely fantastic and at £21.90 per head, good value for money. A must visit if you like Chinese cuisine."

"I am extremely disappointed with my recent order from your restaurant. Normally, I love your food as it is always well-prepared and delicious. However, this time it was quite unpleasant. The chicken in both dishes seemed undercooked and the Bruma had more heat and flavor than the madras. Additionally, as a loyal customer, I was expecting a couple of fresh popadoms with sauce, but only received one soggy popadom without any condiment. I just wanted to bring this to your attention, hoping that this was just a one-time issue with a different chef. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Shaun."

"We stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at Cooling Castle. The manager is fantastic and drove us to the wedding venue and collected us at a time we chose, which was brilliant. The room was huge and very clean. The only downside was that the mattress was very uncomfortable, and we hardly slept as you could feel the other person turning over in their sleep and every movement woke us. The breakfast was amazing, but sadly, the smell of all the cleaning products while trying to eat wasn't appreciated as I felt like at times I was eating bleach as smell was so strong. But these things didn't make much of a difference, just an observation and hopefully something for them to consider. The checkout is very early at 9.30 am, and breakfast is from 9 am on the Sunday.. not very convenient after a wedding, and not being able to go back to your room after breakfast is also a hassle but fully understandable as guests want earlier check-ins to attend weddings. but it's still a shame that breakfast is earlier to accommodate the earlier check out. Overall, I would stay again."

"A lovely venue in a converted old barn, a really nice cosy bar area to sit and have a drink. The upstairs restaurant is very nice but a little too dark for my eyesight. Good menu with different offerings to the usual. Generally the food is good. The Pashwari Naan is the best we have ever had. The Prawn dishes are very good. However for me personally I always find the chicken not as tender as I would like and the Dhansak is too mild, it should have more spice. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Prawn Puri, Curry Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant. The Thai menu was delicious and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. The Chicken Pad Thai Noodles were a nice portion and had fantastic taste, not too spicy. I also tried the Beef Massaman and Egg Fried Rice which were also amazing. The meat was tender and the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone. Great job, Rose Inn Team! "Went here on the back of reading all the glowing reports on trip advisor and I have to say I am really let down.. I am a lone traveller so it takes a lot for me to walk into a pub on my own and the welcome I got was anything but friendly. I went into the ‘quiet’ side of the pub and waited patiently for the staff to serve me. Having gone in the pub for dinner after a long day travelling I was greeted by a less than happy face Which instantly put me on the back foot! when I asked politely if they were serving food I got a very abrupt ‘no’ with no explanation. I asked why and was told in a very curt and rude manner that there was no chef. With that I turned around and left the pub immediately. I do not think in this day and age there is any excuse for rudeness when all that needed to be said was an apology explaining there was no chef this evening."

"My wife, daughter, and I visited this restaurant last night. We had been loyal customers of High Mings for the past 5 years until it closed, and had been struggling to find a decent replacement until we discovered this place. The food was delicious, fresh, well-prepared, and not greasy. I would even say that this Chinese restaurant is better than our previous favorite. We are excited to return in the future. "I'm proud to call myself a weekly regular and I've been eating at Gina's cafe for many, many years. As someone who both enjoys food and travels a lot, I can, hand on heart, say that Gina's Cafe is my favourite cafe. Period. I've very rarely had a bad experience here, and I always leave satisfied. I'm a huge fan of the chicken curry with chips or the ham, cheese and mushroom omelette. The salad is very fresh and the chips are perfect! The staff are very pleasant and always take care to speak to my 6 year old son if he eats well, they let him choose a lolly before he leaves. Pricing is about what you'd expect from a cafe and the quality and cleanliness is superb. There is only one toilet, accessed from the garden, however it is clean. I would avoid trying to get a table at the busiest times it is normally very busy here and would recommend not sitting directly next to the front door or on the smallest tables if there is more than one person dining. There are some high chairs available, and a good selection of hot and cold drinks."

"The prices at this restaurant are quite steep, but it seems they are able to maintain a steady stream of customers despite this. They use the same tongs for all the different types of salads, which can result in cross-contamination for those with specific dietary preferences. The food is tasty and they have certificates displayed on the wall. The staff is efficient in their service."

"What a fantastic afternoon! A very welcome refuge from the rain. The setting is perfect, right on the high-street. The decor is quaint and very pretty… highly Instagramable lol! The staff are so lovely here and actually bother to take the time to engage in conversation and make you feel very welcome. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The menu is nicely varied leaving you spoilt for choice. Speaking of spoilt… the cakes here are delicious!!! … for a change I tried something from their festive menu… the lemon and cranberry scones were a delightful twist on a classic! So accommodating and hospitable, I would highly recommend coming here if you fancy a nice bite to eat or even just a coffee and cake. We were served by the lovely Harriet :"

"Booked over a month in advance and paid £150 cash as deposit for 15-20 family guests to dine in restaurant. Closer to time we visited and were told that restaurant itself would not be able to hold us all so we'd be in the adjacent patisserie. We accepted and were told no disturbances and the venue would be ours. We turned up an hour earlier than guests and set up own dessert table. Spoke to staff about it being slightly chilly and they turned on what was meant to be a ceiling fan blowing out heat. Instead this blew out air con. Were told repeatedly someone would come and sort it however nobody did and when guests inevitably arrived it was freezing to the point we could see our own breath. Had elderly grandfather and the birthday girl who had just turned 1. Booking was for 2pm, guests arrived over an hour later than given time as travelling from afar. Was 0°C outside so this was a cold day. Spoke to manager who said wait there and it would be looked at. The unit started to let out smoke and it was unbearable. Absolutely unacceptable, we moved to the restaurant where it was warmer and were seated when the manager repeatedly said the heating was back on so we should relocate back again. With our elderly grandfather with us we decided not to go back into the patisserie for the meal but to go for dessert as we had the cake and dessert table set up. Upon our return to the patisserie it was warm. However the desserts were spoiled by the smoke, cake inedible. We made the most of what we could but the party was ruined. The full price was still asked for, no concessions made apart from serving us Turkish tea at the end. My question is why was the room not set up appropriately knowing they had a party of 15-20 people when a cash deposit was paid well in advance? Will not be returning, customer service was poor and there was very little preparation on the restaurants side for our party. This was embarrassing in front of family and something we will unfortunately always remember for our little girls 1st birthday party."

"We recently collected a takeaway from here on a Sunday night and chose from the special offer set 4 course menu i.e. chicken buna, onion fried rice, onion bhaji and garlic naan. Everything was cooked perfectly and had bags of flavour! There was plenty for...2 of us to share which was great value for under £10.00!"

"So we ordered our food delivered , delivery driver was friendly , even tiped him once we opened our food we realised no sauces with popadoms phoned them up to be told you have to pay separate for sauces , so we have popadoms that we paid £2.40 for with no sauces at all, not told this at the time of ordering ...strange! Then we move onto the korma , it was lumpy with massive flakes of coconut, not nice at all, we have ordered from here before and it was not like this before , phoned them up and asked them to come and collect the food and give us a refund we have not touched this food at all! They were not very helpful and refused to give a refund, or even acknowledge that the food wasn’t right , kept saying there was nothing they can do , do not waste your money , we have now thrown it all in the bin and had to cook something , next time we will take the drive down to the cumin club in Rochester as much better food , service is better and not as over priced!"
