"I'm a regular to Fussey, it's in a great location especially if you like people watching, grab a stall at the window. I go in with my daughter who loves a babychino and a croissant, the staff are super family friendly so you never feel uneasy if you go as a group with a few little ones. I also love to pitch up and have a quiet iced late while the little ones are at nursery/school. The decor is lovely and they play great music. Highly recommend to locals and people visiting hitchin!"

"My family and I (all 30 of us) had a celebration Sunday lunch today for my Mum’s 80th birthday. We had the most delicious food that was plentiful, served promptly and hot no mean feat when there are 30 hungry mouths to feed. All the staff were friendly, supportive and went over and above to be kind and helpful. A special mention to Alex and Kieran who were patient, supportive and kind when my cousin fell ill. We are all so very grateful for all that they did for us. We would most definitely recommend the G&D Graveley and will be back soon to sample some more of their delicious cuisine. Thank you for everything x Also a shout out goes to Mike (an off duty Police Officer) who is a regular he was outstanding with his offer of support and swift action to help us. Thank you x"

"Great venue. All the restaurants in the Lounge group are accommodating for those with coeliac disease. There is a separate kitchen prep area and a separate fryer for fries. My teenage daughter, who has a gluten intolerance, has enjoyed burgers and chips on multiple visits without any issues. I highly recommend this place. The staff are all very knowledgeable and only those who have been trained in handling allergy orders (coeliac disease is not technically an allergy) are allowed to take orders."

"Attended a family funeral in Royston, and Old Bull was competively priced compared to the chains who were much further away. The room was comfortable clean and had everything we needed, including tea, coffee, and biscuits. My wife is pretty noise sensitive, so with traditional sash windows and our room being over the outdoor seating area was the downside. The welcome at breakfast and excellent food coffee was positive. Free car park and central location make it hard to beat for the price. Would stay again."

"A very large, traditional pub, not to be confused with its smaller neighbour with the same name in Willian. Really nicely appointed in dark wood, with log fires and lots of different seating areas. The restrooms were spotlessly clean too, which is sadly a rarity these days. Would have preferred more choices of real ales (only Doombar and Harvey’s were on offer on a Sunday lunchtime). Staff were really friendly and so was the pub cat, Reggie! Didn’t try the food as we’d had a big breakfast elsewhere, but would definitely have lunch next time."

"The Old White Horse is a hub of Baldock, Hertfordshire! Such welcoming, friendly and lovely Bar staff, the food is AMAZING and drinks are well priced and always flowing. Atmosphere is brilliant, every night of the week there is something happening in this place a massive community place, everyone is welcome. 241 pizzas on a monday, Quiz nights, As a musician it's a fantastic place to play, brilliant crowd who are always up for a good time. "Lovely country pub,called in for Sunday roast as seen advert in comet paper. Friendly staff but unfortunately the food let's the pub down.Turkey was dry,beef was tough,green beans were mushy and the BROCCOLI FLORETS were turning yellow which means they are on there way out,let...alone end up on someone's plate. The only thing I enjoyed about our visit was the nice can of cold Coke. Sorry for this bad review but hopefully it will improve your chefs knowledge on fresh vegetables. Will try Green Man on next visit ."

"This is a lovely restaurant where we enjoyed sitting outside in the early evening sunshine. We were one of the first tables but by the time we left, it was almost full. Overall, the service and food were good. The antipasti selection on the Affetato Misto was nice, and we especially enjoyed the garlic bread with cheese and caramelised onions. The Tagliatelle Gorgonzola was tasty, though a bit lacking in chicken. The Pollo Piccata was very enjoyable and came with "roast potatoes" (more like sautéed potatoes) instead of the usual fries, along with a side of green beans. All the food was well-cooked and had plenty of garlic flavor. The only downside was that the service fell short towards the end. Our mains were cleared, but we weren't offered any desserts and had to go inside to ask for the bill. It seemed like they may have been a bit busy and forgotten about us. Despite this, we would still consider returning in the future."

"Staff were friendly, although not very well presented, when we arrived our waiter (owner) had his shirt hanging out and covered in stains. Very quiet restaurant considering it was a bank holiday Friday and the rest of the town was buzzing. Our meal was pleasant, when we came to ask for the bill (very expensive bill) there was no one left in the restaurant, the waiting staff were no where to be found, we called out and nothing, I went to go check in the kitchen and the lights were all off, no staff and the kitchen was filthy. We eventually tracked down our waiter (owner) who was out the front chatting. We had been waiting 15 minutes with no one around. I would not go back."

"eating was really good, although seemed to get a lot veg to compensate a smaller portion meat on roasts. huge yorkshires! the Burger-Back of my sohne was sown with fat from the wobble rings on the top, which had not been left long enough so that he had to remove the top and throw it off. service was reasonable, good choice of beer and apple wines. beautiful pub gardens, although it was a scandal that the children's playground was tied down and not in use."

"A group of 5 retired bankers (NatWest) frequent this venue regularly for a chat about current banking practice, when compared to the joyous times of yesteryear, pre retirement, reflecting upon how lucky we were! The usual lady server was well known to two of our crew, as they virtually live in the bar..the other three of us are some distance away so I pen this as an 'outsider '. As title, the menu is superior to our Hertfordshire McMullan 's..apparently there is some sort of choice to the local publicans..this here is excellent for this type of venue with superior portions and choice. Place usually 'buzzy '..a little quieter today..always welcoming and efficient service. We had many pints and glasses of wine, including three Guinness, 5 main courses..all delicious with plates cleaned..from memory, the special Porky burger with sides, the pie, the super Fish and chips, Spinach Risotto and the chicken skewer. £140.00 including tip..many thanks..we 'll call again..cheers"

"We visited The Rose and Crown in Ashwell on a Thursday evening. We were greeted by a very friendly staff. We were shown to our table and were served drinks quickly. The new menu is absolutely fantastic, so many different dishes to choose from. The food came out piping hot, was very well presented and it tasted outstanding!! The atmosphere was great, amazing choice of drinks and the staff was very professional and friendly. We will definitely come back again."

"After I had participated in an event in the bushel strike and was not able to eat or drink to be served, except to fill my water bottle in the men's toilet handshake, I left very annoying, but to run around the village, a shady search that I saw that this pub was open. decided to hope that not get the same experience, good I had the whole thing and it was nice. friendly staff and ordered a small bite to eat and a drink within minutes of entering. much better managed venue and if at all in the opposite again this will be my landing."

"Well we use orange tree few times,as nice staff,friendly, Dawn manager is fantastic n she ran good pub with hygiene,service but tonight we noticed she not been here for few times and place has gone down hill especially in service as tonight we were waiting...for 20 mins that was to place drinks order,then few more mins to order,what we got was ok not great, my main the chips were hard, not much fish as its all was batter. My partner meal weren't great either as said sauce was runny, so our meal wasn't worth 37 quid n don't help that there was no 1 was around to say anything as they were busy so such a shame as we liked it here but not much now so another decent place gone due to staff issues n food incompetence."

"We stayed two nights while visiting friends nearby and highly recommend Banyers House. The room was freshly remodeled but still had the historical touches, the bathroom was beautiful, huge and modern. Staff were attentive to us and very friendly. Breakfast was served from 7 to 11 and that made it easy to fit into our jet lagged schedule both pastries and coffee set out and a hot menu of delicious eggs and other dishes. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night with our local friend and the food was delicious with a choice of traditional British fare as well as a wide variety of other dishes. Great location within walking distance of the train station and in the center of town."
