Very busy when we arrived, told meal would be 30 minutes and it arrived in five. Good quality Sunday lunch with tender beef and great veg . Yorkshire pudding was not the best but as I hail From Gods own county only perfection will Suffice. Will. Certainly go again

They offer a separate gluten-free menu at this restaurant. The food is pub style but of high quality. Their burgers come with gluten-free seeded buns and gluten-free fries. The restaurant is spacious but tends to get busy, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance.

It had been a while since my last visit, so I brought my parents here to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary. They were impressed and we all had a great time together. We all ordered burgers and they were delicious, with unique and flavorful options. The decor was also lovely. View menu

We thought we 'd have go at the weekly pub quiz but also fancied a meal out, so booked a table for 6:30pm. Service (our waitress was the charming Kirsty) was good throughout and three of our party took advantage of the Rib Wednesday promotion which provided a delicious rack of ribs and a free drink. Buttermilk chicken burger was also really good. Soft drinks were well-presented with plenty of fizz and the McMullens IPA was a fantastic pint. We had time for a dessert (had to be ice-cream sundaes) before the quiz started at 8pm. We didn 't cover ourselves in glory when it came to the results, but had a really enjoyable evening and will definitely do it again. Thank you!

We were travelling to Melton Mowbray from North Hampshire and decided to stop here for food on a Friday night. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was just lovely. A really nice guy showed us to our table, a really lovely young woman took our orders and our food came quickly. The salad which had double pulled chicken and a pita bread was absolutely fantastic and my Husband really enjoyed his macaroni cheese. We were sat near the kitchen and could hear some of the conversation, but not in a bad way everyone seemed to talk to everyone else with respect and it just seemed remarkably pleasant. We go to this place most Sundays, I usually have Sunday roast beef. The meat and the vegetables are really lovely, gravy has a lovely flavour. The only thing is the roast potatoes, they are nearly always very hard, too over cooked. It's such a shame as roast potatoes is a big part of the dinner. They should be crispy but fluffy inside., shouldn't be too hard to improve the roast potatoes. There was three of us had roasts. One had gammon steak she had a jacket potato with it. and two more had hunters chicken,which had chips with it. The meals were all nicely served by a lovely young lady called Amy. We go here every Sunday when we are all together, we never have puddings as we take it in turn...

The only reason I didn 't give five stars was: when we arrived I was using a rollator. When the man was deciding where to seat us I pointed this out and he said 'sorry but we have steps here and this wasn 't mentioned when booked '. The tone was unmistakablely of annoyance. We considered ourselves told off. I explained it was a day to day thing and today was a bad day so I had to use it. No response, no apology, no acknowledgement that I 'd spoken. If it 's that important to you then you should ask the question when someone books a table, 'and is anyone in your party disabled? '. It 's not difficult. A group of 5 retired bankers (NatWest) frequent this venue regularly for a chat about current banking practice, when compared to the joyous times of yesteryear, pre retirement, reflecting upon how lucky we were! The usual lady server was well known to two of our crew, as they virtually live in the bar..the other three of us are some distance away so I pen this as an 'outsider '. As title, the menu is superior to our Hertfordshire McMullan 's..apparently there is some sort of choice to the local publicans..this here is excellent for this type of venue with superior portions and choice.
