"I called the Kebabish just now and ask them about their menu item of kebab and ask them how many seekh kabab will be in it he said I don't now, then I asked which item is your best between shish and sikh so he said I don't know and I am busy when you decide your order then call and he cut the call, is it the way the speak with the customer And if I got reply from them that our services are good we can't talk like that do I have recording. First time I was going to try them but bad experience."

"Greeted by great staff at the bar served well ordered food that went ok. Normally some one comes and tells us when the mains meals are almost ready so the ones having carvery can go for their meals this didn’t happen. The two burgers that had been order where over cooked and dry The selection on the carvery was very poor an even though we had order the large meal the amount of meat was very poor. The veg selection wasn’t brilliant the stuffing was so dry it became like bird feed On returning to our table and starting to eat the comments from us all was the veg was barely warm in-fact cold. We mentioned this to the server who came and asked if every thing was ok and her response was oh ok and she walked away She then came back we mentioned the poor standard of food and she said oh sorry…… We left quite a considerable amount of our meals and left the restaurant"

"Probably one of the worst takeaway pizza I've had. Asked to thin base but was given deep pan. Must have been a good 1-2 inch of base with no toppings on. The tomato sauce on pizza tasted ville and was like a chilli sauce my mouth was on fire. Fries were wrapped up so tight they were soggy and horrible. Also fries were covered in chip salt/spice which we'd not asked for. Too much salt made them ville! When spending nearly £30 on a meal you'd expect some quality but there was none."

"Scott and his team were exceptional. Especially Aly and Gracie ont bar. We expected to get the normal well her allergy isn't on the government list bullsh1t. But their service was exceptional the best we have ever received in over 30 years for allergies. My Mum is allergic to garlic and lactose intolerant so it's not rocket science. But we were made to feel like normal diners. Nothing was too much. Then the food the meat was incredibly well cooked best sunday lunch ever outside my Mums kitchen. We went on Mothers day last year and it was average but now its got to be top 5 in Sheffield the turn around is exponential. Presumably to Scotts management."

"Was asked to wait 10mins Waited 25 mins, for the family to be told half way through the order they had run out of chips and we had to wait again. 40 min later and not a customer is in sight we manage to get the food. "The place is very dull and dark and could do with a make over. The meat eaters portions were large but the steaks were tough and of poor quality. The soggy salad for 14 pounds was disgusting and 7 chunky chips with a burger is not adequate portion. The food used to be a lot better here. The prices are ridiculous compared to other local restaurants of better standard. Staff were cheerful"

"A hidden gem! This restaurant is a real treasure with fantastic food and service. The high quality is evident by the fact that it's nearly impossible to get a table without a reservation. The waiter guided us through the specials menu, and we both chose dishes like mushrooms stuffed with pate in a tomato sauce. The food had a very authentic Italian flavor, not overly seasoned like some Italian food in the UK, but delicate and subtle. I also appreciated that the kitchen is visible from the restaurant, showing that everything is cooked fresh. Overall, a restaurant with nothing to hide. And don't forget to test the waiter's Italian accent with a Yorkshire twist."

"Called here as we fancied a flaming challenge after a long day at work. My first choice the hot dogs had all gone so I went for the big daddy burger which I knew I wouldn’t finish as soon as I saw it but gave it a good go. Staff were brilliant and food spot on as well. Will visit again soon."

"Went here with friends. We were four adults and four children between 4 7. Great food, great atmosphere. Service was slightly slow and had to ask for the kids desserts, but staff were really positive and good with the kids. Would be hair to go back again. "Quantity good. Taste not good, gooey sugary slop at best. Plus mine had a sharp shard of plastic found inside the ice cream. Fortunately I found it before choking to death. We took the ice cream away to eat in Clifton park, otherwise I would have returned the lot in anger. So poor I’m still in disbelief of how this place is part of a chain?"

"We have always loved the G&D and being fairly local we often call in for a drink whilst out walking, sometimes eating too. However this occasion felt different. All the tables were reserved and when I asked if there was anywhere to sit the member of staff asked if I had booked. I replied that we only wanted a drink. There was one high table free near the bar. There were a couple of customers sitting by the door vaping. The manner of the staff wasn’t friendly or welcoming and they were heard to moan to each other about a large party who were in for lunch. A few people walked in looking for a table and one of the staff did remove a couple of the reserved signs. Others were told that they weren’t serving food to walk-in customers until later. Great that they’re fully booked for lunch, everyone needs the business right now, but it is a pub."

"Me and my husband are regular customers of Leger Lakes and feel so lucky that it is on our doorstep. We recommend this place unreservedly. A large car park makes it easy for those not on foot and it is easy to access on the road between Laughton-en-le-Morthen and Firbeck."

"It’s unacceptable to see dogs lying on refurbished seats. I have a dog myself, but she eats from her own dishes. If someone put a plate on the floor for her to eat from, I would be appalled. Then, the head chef? came out and insisted that it was completely fine for the dog to eat from the plate. For those of us who value hygiene and decorum, this is a huge red flag—I will never return to this place. No senior management addressed the issue, but somehow I was made to feel like the villain in this scenario. Apparently, I made the staff cry, and when another customer tried to voice their opinion, the manager simply walked away. Talk about professionalism! It’s clear that I will not be returning, and I plan to report this incident to the health and hygiene authorities. The owner has been wondering why people are staying away, and this is likely the reason why. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"After adding a five star review a few weeks ago, we decided to visit the Homestead again for Father’s Day but the experience was very different this time. Despite being booked in and arriving on time, we were told that there was a one hour wait for food after ordering. Disappointing that the planning hadn’t taken into consideration that those clients booking a specific time were being treated as walk-ins. Anyway we accepted the wait and ordered. One of our party who had travelled from Barnsley wanted the Mac and cheese as she really enjoyed it last time. It wasn’t available. Disappointing, but she made do with a burger which was ok. I ordered the halloumi wrap which I too had enjoyed last time. Everyone was served their meals except me. When they came over to enquire if all was ok, I pointed out that my meal was missing. It came a few minutes later but I wish I hadn’t bothered. The wrap was solid, didn’t even meet never mind wrap, was more like an open sandwich, was rock solid like a piece of plywood and the halloumi was cold. I gave feedback and the waitress thanked me for letting her know but there was no follow up. As it was Father’s Day, I didn’t make an issue of it to spoil the family gathering. I have to say that everyone else was happy with their meals. On to dessert. Our granddaughter had the pink doughnut but sadly we had to send it back as we couldn’t let her eat it as it was still frozen solid. My Cadbury chocolate Sundae was just chocolate floating in cold milk as the ice cream was totally melted by the time it came to me. After our enjoyable visit recently my Father’s Day visit was a huge disappointment as both my courses weren’t up to par, plus the waiting, unavailability of the Mac and cheese and the frozen doughnut. I left praise when the visit was good so it’s fair to point out the shortcomings of this visit too."

"We stopped going in the Sitwell last year because the service was terrible. When we heard it was under new management in December we decided we'd give it a try again and now it's our regular Friday night venue. It's like a different pub entirely, the staff are quick to acknowledge you at the bar and are friendly and efficient. I am bit of a people watcher and It just looks a whole lot more organised and the staff seem happy in their work. Previously there were never enough staff on the bar (I've seen people get sick of waiting to be served and walk out) and those that were working always looked hassled. Now the whole atmosphere is better and the pub looks and smells clean. Since the new management took over the Sitwell has become a lot of people's preferred pub, I hope it continues to bring people to Whiston."
