"Had recently seen posts on Facebook regarding this restaurant having new management and thought we'd pop in pre-film. Visited on Saturday night (7th May) with my family, booked a table well in advance, were greeted very nicely upon entry which always makes things a lot nicer. Upon seating we noticed that something wasn't quite right, the restaurant was pretty much full, the most full we've seen it in a long while to be honest, partway through us ordering our drinks the manager went into the kitchen we assumed to speak with his kitchen team, he didn't come back out through the duration of our meal. We could see the cooks trying their hardest and we knew that the wait on our food would be a while. Me and my daughter watched the cooks and observed the team, working in hospitality myself I am more aware, filling in for one another. The place where the manager was somebody had replaced, another manager was speaking to tables. In summary, we waited long, but we knew about it in advance, the food was good when it eventually came, the manager did come around towards the end of our meal and spoke to us at length regarding the issue that had led to the events and his honesty was refreshing, the team were obviously strained however there were still smiles, sounds of laughter, overall the service was great, food was good, communication was brilliant. The only negative was an older couple at the entrance being extremely rude when told they couldn't be seated, which the female manager dealt with very well may I add. Will return for sure. Well done!"

"I made a reservation for a Valentines Day dinner for two at The Vineyard in Lamberhurst a few weeks before the 14th of February. Our table was located outside of the actual restaurant, near the bar area. We were seated next to a table of five people who were very loud and not celebrating Valentines Day. We requested to be moved and were seated at a table for six in the pizzeria, which was too big for just the two of us. There was music playing from a radio, which was bothersome. The food was mediocre at best and seemed like it may have been pre-made and reheated. The squid as a first course was okay, but the Guinea Fowl as the main course was dry, lukewarm, and served with undercooked vegetables. The Creme Brulee for dessert had a terrible raspberry jam at the bottom. We also had coffee and chocolates, but the service was lacking as we had to ask for water and couldn't find any waitstaff when we needed assistance. We had to go to the front desk to request the bill, which included charges for the desserts and coffees on top of the initial £40 per person price that was supposed to be all-inclusive. They did remove these charges when we questioned them, but I suspect some couples may not have noticed. We also had to ask for the single rose that was supposed to be given to my wife upon our arrival. Overall, the evening was a disappointment and we will not be returning. The food, service, and atmosphere were all poor and not worth even one star."

"Hey it was pay day so thought i would take my girlfriend out for a meal. The knoxbridge was local and their website and reviews promised a lot. Prices are high for a pub but you don 't mind paying for a bit of quality...if that 's what you get. It was a Friday night so i thought that i 'd better book a table. Turns out i needn 't have bothered as though it was for 8PM the place was empty apart from a drinker at the bar. Not a good sign! The service was provided by a young boy who made a big effort to be attentative and polite. However the landlord appeared to be eves dropping us from around the corner of the bar and was continously prompting the nervous lad. (I could see you in the door window reflection) They are attemping to up the experience here but the menu was extremely limited... and pricey for a pub. Given the limitations i ordered the Ribeye syeak at £17.95. The only other steak on offer was a fillet at £24.95! My girlfriend went for a burger as there wasn 't much else that she fancied. Well i 've had a lot of steaks in my time and have eaten in a lot of places from Bills to The Shard but i have to say that this is one of the worst steaks that i have ever 'HALF EATEN '. It was a Minute steak at best and had unchewable gristle in every attempted mouthful. I don 't like complaining and don 't send food back. But when asked how the food was i had to say that i was very dissapointed. The landlord apologised but said it was a bit of meat and couldn 't be guaranteed and he 'd never had any problems before. He basically gave me the impressions that i didn 't know what i was talking about and i had got what i 'd paid for. WOW!! He was very apologetic but did nothing. Save your money and drive into town."
