"my son and his girlfriend want to make us discover the Japanese cuisine they love, we are invited on a Friday night. My son had already taken a takeover meal several months ago and had been very satisfied with it. From the outside, the restaurant does not really envi, facade of another age, old veranda and inside not much better, no decoration, fuel booster heating and establishment in its juice. But let's not stop there, it may be very good, let's try .la map offers many dishes accompanied by photos, it's easier. The manager, I think, takes our order, unfortunately she doesn't speak very well French and doesn't understand everything, but it's Asian charm. We order dishes, drinks and aperitif. What a surprise, we receive the misused soups that accompany each dish after about fifteen minutes followed by ravioli, nems and soon arrived the dish of my wife, the main dish. we also received some potatoes that were turbulent on a skewer type. We re-launched the lady for aperitifs several times, but she smiled and said yes, but nothing happens. We will receive our aperitif when everything or almost will be on the table. I also remember that we wait for the wine.Bref, it's very long and very brouillon. For dishes: soup for everyone, fade; nems in entry, very good, bake garnished with maki sushi and other specialities ... the red tuna is not very fresh, it is grayish, speaking with the waitress it explains that it will be better in 3 days, tenit the fish is not at all of the day )!(bake at 54 € all the same. For the rest of the table, very tender beef noodles, not bad beef and chicken balls are satisfactorily satisfied with salmon scent very strong. Not terrible at all. My son who invited us must take out the modest sum of more than 140 € and when he calls our problems to the waitress who cash, she does not even react, no discount, coffee offered or even saké. We're not coming back..."

"An enjoyable experience of French rustic cuisine and a comfortable level of service that inspires confidence to return again and again.I have been working in France for alternate weeks over the last four months and moving between the rural communities, region to region, every other day or so. The proliferation of multi outlet food chains is very depressing and hard on the digestion so finding the 'Bonsejour' on the outskirts of Verdun for Lunch last Tuesday was a very bright spot. I and my two French colleagues enjoyed a light lunch (they had fresh pizza) and I had the local version of 'Flammkucken' all of which were cooked in the wood fired oven at the centre of the dining room. Fresh, well executed, good to look at and the aromas and flavours were excellent.Following this initial test we returned for dinner that evening and enjoyed excellent Moule Farci followed by Rump Steak, green salad and their own version of French Fries. The food was excellent and very well complemented by inexpensive but good quality wine by the glass, a VDP de Gascony white and a Cote de Blaye Bordeaux. The following day we completed our work just after 1:00pm and had to drive back through Verdun on the way to Calais and home so stopped again at the Bonsejour for Lunch. This time I had home made fresh pasta with scallops which was to the same high standard. The restaurant is clean and well run with pleasant unpretentious staff and has an atmosphere that is relaxing and enjoyable. It has restored my faith that this type of independent excellent regional and authentic restaurants still operate but you do have to be determined and lucky to find them amongst the ambient noise of the chains that have been allowed to dominate and then eradicate what is usually good French taste. I will be back to the Bonsejour for more and to congratulate its owner and staff for restoring my belief."
