"We decided to have Christmas lunch at a British pub, expecting a delicious roast dinner. However, we were extremely disappointed. There was no festive atmosphere, and the turkey dinner we received was terrible. Despite having enjoyed good food at The Ship in the past, our plates were overloaded with thick slices of turkey, gammon, and a mystery red meat (possibly beef), along with overcooked vegetables and soggy potatoes. We paid £110 per person, which was not worth it. We were served a glass of champagne, 3 canapés for 2 people, turkey, and a small Christmas pudding each. Additional drinks were not included in the price. It was a disappointing experience, especially since we had been looking forward to a special Christmas meal. We will not be returning."

"they know what they get with pizza express and this restaurant keeps the quality of the chain. I visit regularly with a 2 year old and the staff is friendly and helpful, served immediately to dine and put on a Sunday afternoon with his throwing of eating and loud tantrums. can't blame it. yes, there is better pizza, but it is local and it is good price (and it is on the map)"

"We always visit The Rocket whenever we are in London on holiday,It is the perfect place for some pub grub after a busy day exploring London. It is typical Wetherspoons fare so nothing too adventurous but enough choice and definitely filling.I had the fish and chips and it was possibly the biggest piece of fish I had ever had with a fish and chip meal!No complaints on portion sizes at all. The only disappointment was that most of the draught lagers were off that night however that fact was well notified before we sat down so no unexpected surprises when we came to order food and drinks. The pub is in a lovely location, always seems to be a nice atmosphere, the food and drinks came fast and all the staff we had contact with were very polite.Definitely a good place to eat and drink."

"Bisto style but British cuisine. A jolly good menu including quite a few things we had not seen for ages.It looks welcoming from the outside and that is no deception. The waitresses made us instantly feel at home and in the evenings, with candlelight, the atmosphere is delightful. A bit of music but nothing the least bit obtrusive. We both started with prawn cocktail. Excellent. I then had a steak with fried egg and my wife had another starter the mushrooms. For an after the cinema meal it was perfect. House rioja perfectly drinkable and not too expensive.Good smiley service. We will certainly return."

"I fancied a few beers and a meal while I worked, but found the WiFi wasn't working. Barmaid was unhappy being interrupted from playing with her phone, told me she didn't know where the router was to reboot it, she couldnt find out, and that no, she wouldn't leave a message that there was a problem for whoever did know. Was rudely told I should have bought a data plan for my phone. Went out of her way from the very start of the conversation to make it plain she couldn't care less and that she resented my having interacted with her. I took my custom to The Rocket a short way away where the beer is half the price, the WiFi works, the staff aren't rude and the view is nicer since it's smack bang by the river. Hopefully the Arab Boy will sell out to one of the pubcos that have procedures in place to ensure adequate staff training, proper handling of feedback/complaints and maintenance of facilities. Being independently owned which they proudly trumpet as a differentiator isn't a selling point if one's **** and hires staff that don't give a toss about customer service."

"Steak was OK, not the best as it used to be. Overall experience ruined by horrible service. Total of 3 people working on the restaurant floor on a Saturday evening!! Food took 1hr 30mins to come after ordering (it was not that busy, several tables were empty). Tables not being cleaned after people had left, at one point there were 4 tables uncleaned, and people waiting at the door for a table. Had to keep reminding them about drink and food orders just so they can bring them! Food being brought out one by one. I got my steak but the sauce didn't come till later so couldn't start eating! Ridiculous service making the overall experience rubbish"

"I ordered last night some rice, Tarkha Dhall and some lamb shank thing in oil with garlic and onion. The lamb shank dish (its on the bone in this kind of red oil sauce) was one of the best meals i’ve ever had eating it with bread was genuinely an incredible culinary experience. It costs £8, but honestly? Get it with a Chapati and you will love it. It changed my life. I wish i knew what it was called. The Tarka Dhal was a good example of a Tarka Dhal, but nothing out of this world like that lamb shank dish. The rice was just rice."

"I used to consider this place as my local pub and was very happy with the service (see my review in 2017). I recently went with a friend and we had to wait 1 hour and 30min for lunch as nothing was ready. The pub was empty and the staff very young and unexperienced: they absolutely didn 't have a clue. There was a limited selection of food and the quality was average. Basically, we waited 90min for snacks (no mains or complicated dishes). Nobody seemed to care, a part from the poor young waitress who kept saying: sorry, I 'm only 20 years old . We felt sorry for her, the problem was the non-existent management. Such a shame as the atmosphere is lovely, but if this is the standard of service, we will not go back again."

"This was my first ever time in a Sri Lankan restaurant and I liked it. We decided to go there for a friend's birthday dinner on what turned out to be a very busy Saturday night, so the atmosphere was very lively due to big group tables of people. After studying the menú beforehand I decided to go for the mutton rolls as a starter, and I went for 3 of them...but 2 of them would of been plenty! I very much enjoyed the crispy breadcrumb exterior of these mutton filled pancakes! The meat inside was tasty and they were nice and filling! For my main I decided to have the mutton string hopper fry which is fried shredded noodles cooked with vegetables, spices and mutton. I found it to be nice, albeit a bit dry but the flavours, spices and kick of chili heat was there, a nice dish! I've decided to give it 4 stars as we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food! I know it was ridiculously busy but from what I could see the food is quite easy to knock up and send out...maybe their menú is a bit too big considering they have an Indian menú also. Friendly and patient staff! Worth a visit if you enjoy your Sri Lankan food and value for money."

"Do you not only love summer gardens, sharp apple wines, pimms and bbqs, what is not to like? I was last week in london and visited holly and dicky in wimbledon and it was a beautiful and sunny Saturday. I have lived long enough in the united kingdom to know that when the sun is out, let everything fall and go out! chances are that it will not take too long. with this we decided to find a beautiful beer garden and to take something to eat (and drink naturally) which makes the best of the happiness. Dicky suggested we go to the leather bottle in earslfield, which is just 20 minutes to foot by wimbledon. So we packed our sunglasses and decided to go to the leather bottle. the leather bottle on garratt lane is a...read more"

"I have a strong affinity for British pubs, and this particular old pub has many wonderful qualities. Its riverside location is fantastic, the bar area is charming and full of character, and the outdoor space offers lovely views with minimal noise from passing traffic. The staff, especially a tall, thin French gentleman, were quite friendly and charming. The prices were reasonable, with most lunch options priced below £20. However, I believe they need to improve their food offerings. I dined at the pub twice in one week, trying the belly of pork and fish and chips. The pork had crisp skin and well-cooked fennel, but lacked a green vegetable and the meat was dry. The battered cod and chips I tried later in the week, despite being gluten intolerant, were decent but lacked crispiness. It felt like the food was simply reheated. A friend ordered a pie, which also seemed like a reheated dish. With so many other pubs raising their standards and prices, it seems like Youngs is missing an opportunity to elevate their offerings. The pub has great potential for attracting lunchtime trade, especially on sunny days with a view of the Thames, but it was surprisingly empty during my visits."

"I had to wait outside in the rain before being allowed in. The staff were impolite and even let people at the back of the line inside before others who had been waiting longer. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Havto give a shout out to this lovely little eatery…. I work locally for the NHS and although I’ve always loved this little local café I havto say they have gone above and beyond throughout our recent troubled times (Covid serving the community in difficult circumstances and always adhering to the rules ie social distancing, with ques right along the road single handedly it seems Iwona (Yvonne and the chef (whom apologies I only know fondly as ‘Chef’ always greet you with a smile, know your order before you’ve entered the premisis and always seem to have everything under control despite the pressure and demands of many customers at a time whom all seem content to wait their turn in receipt of great service… What a lovely little corner of the world… They’ve kept me and my colleagues going with copius amounts of Lattes, Mocha’s and the like not to mention croissant pick me ups and the many sweet and savory treats on offer…. Lots of competition in the area but always come here for the friendly speedy service, really think you guys deserve a mention and the recognition! Thank you x"

"21 April 2015 Kolam: Drawing out the curry Running low on new options still available we finally chose to visit Kolam, a venue previously dismissed on account of it never seeming busy and not being BYO A kolam is apparently a geometrical line drawing widely practised by female Hindu family members in front of their houses to bring prosperity. We were hoping a visit would bring us good fortune, but instead we were joined again by the unflappable Louise Hitchen who waddled her way from Balham to join us. On this rare occasion Tom was the first to arrive and cut a very lonesome figure sat inside on his own with only the proprietor as company. Eventually, Louise and I arrived to begin...read more"

"Been coming here for years, Iggy Magda are absolute sweethearts, and the food is consistently excellent, best fry up in town. We love the place. Plus: I am gluten intolerant, so their omelettes are a go to option for me that I anticipate every time! Update to review: I have eaten here countless of times now, and we are absolutely in love with Battersea Grill never had a bad meal. Also shoutout to the cook who is super nice. They also have lots of healthy breakfast options. Recently brought my dog and she was spoiled rotten with her own breakfast plate and lots of staff attention So adding another five stars from my dog who is begging every day to be taken to Battersea Grill."

"I absolutely loved my experience at The Latchmere! The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was simply outstanding, each dish bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. The ambiance was delightful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Super dog friendly. And let's talk about the birthday offer – what a fantastic deal! For just £20, we got so much value for our money. It was a generous package that included not only a scrumptious meal but also a memorable celebration. I truly felt pampered and appreciated as a guest. I highly recommend The Pub to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual outing, this place has it all – great service, mouthwatering food, and a charming setting. I can't wait to return and make more wonderful memories there! Cheers to The Pub for exceeding my expectations!"

"I used to order from this restaurant at least once a month because their pizza was amazing. However, in the past few months, the quality of the food has declined. I ordered a tomato-based pizza and the toppings were drowning in sauce. When I picked up a slice, the sauce dripped off, it was terrible. So I switched to ordering a white pizza with just mozzarella and toppings, which was decent the first time. However, when I ordered it again last week, there was an excessive amount of cream on the base, it was disgusting. I don't think I will be ordering from this restaurant again. It's disappointing to see one of my favorite restaurants decline in quality. They should consider changing the pizza chef, as they seem unable to bake delicious food."

"I visited with a friend for an evening bite to eat with a couple of beers. Beers were OK, but my friend's Chicken with Rice BBQ Sauce was served with the Chicken Breast too tough to eat and my Pulled Beef Burger was served stone cold. No real apologies from the staff. Refires were not great. Chicken was better but still quite tough, and the Burger had maybe half the Pulled Beef the original one had. You don't go to a Wetherspoon for a gastro experience, but the quality is usually pretty good, and this was a real let-down. To make it worse I got in touch with JDW via their Website and they have completely ignored it. Following up by Phone I was told that Customers are not allowed to talk to Customer Service and the operator put the phone down on me. My view of Wetherspoons has been very badly damaged no so much be the original experience, but by JDW's couldn't care less attitude."
