"after our early Sunday afternoon bond, we have some time to kill, so with eight currybonders in tow we dive into a nearby recently renovated drinking hole, the hitalgar arms. after a few unofficial, but pretty tasty local beers we pick a few extra unwilling currybonders. uncommon to experience the wonders of george bond, we welcome them to the fold for the currybein, since currybond is a liberal church, they are more than welcome for just half CURRYBOND. fortunately, the official currybond start time and we pass the accented onam, we come to our early visit to aripollo banana leafka, a broad restaurant it is a double front miracle, but from any reason the owners have one side open a side closed look. with our biggest ever curry we take our seats, unfortunately on the locked side. the decor is bright and colorful, with a series of lands possibly sri lankas, but the origin of the mirror is obvious, ikea, that is exactly these thin wobbly. the entire ambiente is good, not chics restaurant good, but good for currybond. A.A. blatt receives a location rating of br/> the menu looks good, a nice mix of interesting looking sri Lanka dresses and the more conventional curry house tariff. we dive into the starter and with ten currybonders we get a good look at this variety with dosas, puris and of course our sixth entry into the Bhaji Bible. this special bhaji is another wobble shirt. a frankenstein of both ball and chestnut style culminates in a huge tip of wobble ball. the result is good, tasty bhaji with a beautiful knirschen. they get a bhaji score of br/> next stage, bring the curry. no surprise, there is a lot. on the menu for currybond six, chicken biryani, saag chicken, lamb rogan josh, chicken chicken jalfrezi, chicken tikka masala plus a whole lot of other dinges that I can no longer remember or read from the somewhat sribbly acknowledgement. the reference ctm is beautiful, thick, creamy with good hunks of deep-readed huh tikka. the first impressions were good. I also see my huh big pieces of deep-readed chicken, this time quite dry, but beautifully spiced. I wonder about my colleagues currybonders. the banker who may have ordered a jalfrezi in each curry operation looks a little concerned at his rather milky dish with red lumps. this is not so good... to summarize the currys in the offer, mixed. it seems that some of the more conventional curry dishes are not really the forté this establishment, and perhaps the currybonders should have been more adventurous and branched into the interesting looking sri lankas attractions in the offer. no total disappointment, but not a cotender in food inserts unfortunately. the currybonders award apollo banana leaf with a food score of br/> with fat beaks and one to many empty cobra flake left on the table we call for billing. from the other BYOB policy, the totals come to a solid one more solid in the value inserts to the results of a worthescore from br/> we end currybond with the official photo and throw the total results. the currybonders give apollo banana leaf to total result"

Excellent food! Expect spice, coconuts and lots of flavour. It's a BYOB or buy there. If you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday make sure you book as it gets very busy. The mutton rolls are amazing.

Excellent Sri Lankan food. I’ve been coming here for the best part of 20 years. Nothing much has changed thankfully including the legendary decor. Outstanding value, and no corkage charge, although the rice portions are now weirdly expensive. View menu

another quiet Friday night means another tooting curry house to be crossed by the list! we have already enjoyed some of the other popular like the jaffna house, dosa n chutny and lahore karahi, so it was just fair, we gave the equally well-known apollo banana leaf a go. we started with the famous Mutton roll, tasty, but nothing remarkable, and a masala dosa, a brave effort, but still not as good as the dosa n Chutny version. our curries were quite good - the chicken tongue was well diceed and had a decent amount of heat, while the saagmutton was creamy and rich with a beautiful piece sweet. as always we ended with much too much food, so the rest got to take away and into the pub for a pint...

This was my first ever time in a Sri Lankan restaurant and I liked it. We decided to go there for a friend's birthday dinner on what turned out to be a very busy Saturday night, so the atmosphere was very lively due to big group tables of people. After studying the menú beforehand I decided to go for the mutton rolls as a starter, and I went for 3 of them...but 2 of them would of been plenty! I very much enjoyed the crispy breadcrumb exterior of these mutton filled pancakes! The meat inside was tasty and they were nice and filling! For my main I decided to have the mutton string hopper fry which is fried shredded noodles cooked with vegetables, spices and mutton. I found it to be nice, albei...
