"Have been to The Selkirk a handful of times over the past few years since we live nearby, but this time we visited for Sunday lunch with family who don’t live in the area, including two kids 10 and 8 years old. Food was really delicious (2 had roast pork, 4 had roast beef, and one veggie roast) service was great and so friendly, and good atmosphere in the pub. They clearly take a lot of pride in the food and service. It appeared that every indoor table was booked when we were there, so book ahead!"

"My boyfriend and I came here for lunch after an appointment at the St.George’s hospital nearby. We live in Brighton. I had read good reviews it did not disappoint. The waitress was nice, I asked her to recommend starters mains as I didn’t know what anything was. I can’t remember the name of the starter but it was delicious, I have a photo. The other was veg samosas, which I chose. The mains were chefs special lamb curry prawn curry. With plain rice a bread I don’t know the name of, but is in the other photo. All was very special, we were very impressed. Would definitely recommend!"

"I always had excellent food and weeping here. I went back on Thursday after I wasn't one here and it wasn't disappointed. it is a very spacious venue literally with many different rooms and rooms, including two front and rear exteriors. it is a perfect place for only drinks or dinners. I had this time the pan fried gray mullet with celeriac risotto. the fish was excellent and the risotto was perfectly seasoned. my only crumb would be that I would have preferred a larger piece of fish and less risotto, but the overall court was very full. my friend had a pan fried plaice on a bed of chorizo, kicherbsen and tomato sauce. you were a bigger fish with just the right...read more"

"We have been coming to this place for their excellent coffee for 14 years. Recently the coffee took a turn downhill not so sure if it was a new machine or a new member of staff making it but it appears to be back on form. Choice of black or white simple as that with a darn good coffee bean. Portguese family run cafe with a broad menu, some fine tarts, pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. Avoid the cakes that look remarkably like the cheap oversugared stuff you get in the chain coffee shops (muffins/croissants and cookies) , they have some wonderful Portguese cakes like the traditional custard tarts, flans and frangipane based fruit tarts. Their main meals are huge go hungry, they have a meal of the day which is always worth a shot. They have a licence and all their prices are extremely reasonable. It does get packed at lunchtimes, the tv is always on (Portuguese channel or footie), there is nothing fancy about this place. Good homecooked food. No pretensions. Few outside tables on a busy main road."

"I recently hosted a celebration for my cancer remission at The Althorp on December 9th, with approximately 60 guests, and I cannot praise them enough. The entire team at The Althorp ensured that my evening was absolutely perfect! I particularly enjoyed ‘The Common Room’, located at the back of the pub with its own facilities. We were able to play our own music, creating the ideal atmosphere for the night. Despite the private bar not having beer taps or soda guns, it was never an issue as there were plenty of bartenders at the main bar to quickly serve us. Another great aspect was that the booking only required a minimum spend, which was a relief as I was unable to pay hire fees for a non-Christmas party. I highly recommend The Althorp for future events. The food was delicious, with our guests quickly devouring the selection of canapés. The Yorkshire pudding roasties were especially outstanding! I would definitely return just for another meal. Thank you to the entire team for making my night so special. I will always be grateful."

"I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt like I needed to!! I’ve just moved to the area and my work decided to book at the Trafalgar Arms for a Christmas meal and drinks for 30 people. We were in the upstairs function room which was beautiful and nicely decorated for Christmas. We all had a 3 course meal and the service was absolutely amazing, they were so caring and made sure we had everything we needed, extra gravy, extra potatoes, extra sauces, really had a exceptional meal. When it came to the food itself, it was just delicious. I had the turkey as a main and it was moist, the roast potatoes were crispy and just overall so good!!! I definitely will be coming back and I’m so happy to have found my new local pub!!"

"Very disappointed with the level of service of service and the limited choice of main courses and the extortionate prices of drinks, long wait for service and only marginally interested staff. Drinks sat on the bar for at least 20 minutes before they were eventually put on our table. The Old Bank appears to have only a choice of 5/6 main courses and whilst the burgers were acceptable they came with cheap deep fried chips and no other accompaniments no presentation. One member of our party ordered a Buddha bowl which should not have been served – a few cheap tinned beans, peas, frozen spinach, kimchi or such like – at a cost of £12.95 which could only have cost £2.00 max to put together. There was no roasted butternut squash, dressing and the brown rice needed to go in the bin; we never saw any fresh sugar snap peas or hummus – everything had come out of a tin and was not ‘fresh’. £17.00 for a cheeseburger with frozen chips, no salad and no presentation, BUDDHA BOWL £12.95); roasted butternut squash, Cajun chickpeas? really!, sugar snaps, harissa hummus, sweet corn and hazelnut mirin dressing with brown rice and pumpkin seeds?? all tinned and very unlikely.... CHEESEBURGER beef patty, mayonnaise, gherkins, American cheese, diced onion, no mustard no ketchup and triple cooked chips? – deep fried frozen chips to be sure... If The Old Bank is advertising as a brunch outlet; it may serve but certainly must be one of the most expensive unappealing presented in London. All in all, a very disappointing experience Added to insult was the most expensive cheap sauvignon blanc costing we discovered too late nearly £14.00 per glass!! outrageous – it was not even pleasant! The only other offering was a pinot grigio. We would not recommend The Old Bank as a Fullers outlet. There was no ambiance and ghastly rubbish 'pop ' music played loudly through the speakers... With all the competition in Northcote Road this is a place to be avoided."

"Okay I haven't eaten Pasta Arrabiata from a lot of places, but I have. And without a doubt this is THE BEST I have had !!! Initially it felt less spicy to me (I eat raw green chilies as a snack), So I asked the lady if they had any chilli sauce and she smiling bought me some and Voila ! It transformed into the most heavenly plate of pasta !!!!! I cannot get over how good it is! Trying with the last few pieces , because I'll be truly sad when it's over. I could go for seconds but the portion size is generous for one person. Deffo will return !"

"We often stop in here for a drink on way to Fulham home matches. Bought a round this time for my wife and I last Wednesday pint of IPA and a double gin and tonic. Came to £18.75!! I queried with the bartender £5 for one gin and £5 for having a double £3.50 for the tonic, plus pint. Ridiculous pricing. Won't being going in here again shame nice venue otherwise."

"I was able to get a table for the Euros final last Sunday at the pub, the staff were brilliantly accommodating putting up with all of my changes of plan, even when more people in my party turned up than I anticipated. The staff Adele, Wendy, Harriett and Gemma were very helpful and attentive. I was lucky to be there for the game. England may have lost the game, but the Jolly Gardeners have gained a customer! 5 stars and a brilliant experience. Thank you!"

"We had a fantastic meal at The Earlsfield on a busy Friday night! The atmosphere was electric a fun mix of people enjoying drinks and catching up, with the rumble of trains overhead adding a quirky touch. Even at 7pm, we were surprised to be seated right away big thumbs up to the staff for their efficiency! Speaking of staff, our server definitely deserves a mention. A larger gentleman with a great sense of humor, he made our whole experience even more enjoyable. Service itself was quick and friendly drinks arrived promptly and the food came out exactly as expected. Now, onto the food! Portions were seriously generous perfect for those with a healthy appetite. The peri peri half chicken was massive and beautifully cooked, with just the right amount of spice. The beef shin pie was a unique and delicious twist, with a perfectly flaky crust and creamy mashed potato topping. But the real star of the show was the beef shin mac and cheese a must try for cheese lovers! Imagine the rich, flavorful filling of the pie nestled on a bed of creamy mac and cheese absolute comfort food heaven. Everything tasted amazing, but the portions were so big we ended up taking some home. Great value for money too at £45 per person for two drinks, a starter, sides, and a main course, you definitely get your money's worth"
"Beautiful decor. Very clean. Food average. They could do much better with the desserts. Service can be quite poor at times especially over busy weekends. My review (above) was from a few years ago. I am very happy to say service was very good this time and food arrived quite promptly and tasted much better! The young staff members were polite and energetic, keeping up with the swelling crowds. There are plenty of toilet booths, again to accommodate the massive crowd and space. Hence the toilets remain clean as well. I have no hesitation to give a 5 stars rating."

"After a mediocre dining experience a few years ago, I was pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food upon my recent return to the Battersea branch of Indochinese restaurant Banana Tree. After short wait in the reception area, my friend and I were led to one of the private tables off the main room. As a shared dining hater, I was happy not to be seated at one of the long, communal tables. Both vegos, my friend and I shared the aubergine with caramel sauce for our starter. It was cooked to perfection and super tasty. For mains we both went for the Blackened Monk Noodles mine sans egg to veganise the dish. The portions were massive with a tonne of perfectly cooked tofu and tasty, crunchy veg served with the noodles. The noodles also came with a huge rice cake and crispy corn cakes. After having a starter too, I couldn 't quite finish my main but I put in a good effort! The menu is pretty big without being overwhelming and all allergens and dietary options are clearly marked. I often find dining in Asian restaurants a little tricky given that fish sauce is secretly hidden in many recipes; not so at Banana Tree as vegetarian dishes that have fish sauce in them are clearly marked. At around £16 per head including drinks the huge meals are great value and I 'd definitely go back for a cheap but tasty meal."

"As we were travelling from Ireland to visit our Daughter in Clapham for a few days, I had checked out this highly rated cafe on line. What a wonderful place to go for breakfast or lunch. The owner was a wonderful man who couldn’t do enough for us. Food prepared promptly and piping hot. Freshly squeezed orange juice and good tea. Great fry ups, panini etc. It was so good we returned the following day. If you like friendly home cooking, this is the spot."

"a qualified yes. That's nice. it is also a huge place. a series of large rooms that seem to go up and down. so it was easy to find a table, they will serve them wherever it seems. what, while great, makes them wonder how this works in practice (i.e. when there are many people who order at once on Sunday afternoon etc.) we were there on a Thursday night, it was quite quiet and we were thrilled for three courses. interestingly, there is a series of quite challenging main courses and the obvious rib eye steak. the only thing you sell. not very adventurous people in tooting or an estimate of the rest of the menu? the code absolutely beautiful. great piece fish beautifully cooked. desert was made to house, I had lemon meringue (average,) hungry ben went with the chocolate pot, which was on order with what we later recognized was an otopology for what was to achieve. chocolate sauce, not even slightly adjusted. it was removed without consultation (out of sight and out of account). the starter? quite unnoticed and by paying. What am I supposed to say here? its of atic, the people behind a lot of such london boozers including balham bowls club and the tramshed. this place looks like an independant start up, well to appreciate with a few processes when it looks like a ok meal. it wasn't cheap. if they are viewed as the latest offer from an established chain, their view might be somewhat different. I'm going with the earlier. a second look."

"I used to think that All Bar One was just for young, dressed-up people to drink and meet others on a Saturday night. While that may still be a big part of the experience, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they now offer a good selection of vegan options on their menu. During my visit, I opted for the two-course meal for £10.95, choosing the avocado and salsa bruschetta to start, a supergreen laksa for main, and a coconut raspberry sorbet for dessert. The avocado portion was quite small and overshadowed by the salsa. The laksa was decent but lacked flavor, and the sorbet was fine. Overall, I would say that the food on the set menu was nothing extraordinary. The Battersea All Bar One, located on the bustling Northcote Road near Clapham Junction station, offers ample space inside and good value for the price. It's a surprisingly decent spot for dinner, and I plan to return to try more options from the menu. However, I would not give it a perfect rating at this time."

"Despite living close by, I hadn 't been to this pub for many years. Recently due to my usual spot being closed I decided to give it a try. I was blown away by the really excellent cooking and lovely service and raved about it to my wife. Last night we went back there for dinner. It was Monday night and we were the only two customers. The waitress was sweet but a little on the ditzy side, forgetting a drinks order for about 15 minutes and then going to ask a question about desserts to the kitchen and not coming out for ten minutes till we had to go and ask them ourselves through the hatch. The food (that we ate was good but the main issue was that literally six items that we tried to order were not on the menu. 'Oh, we are waiting for some orders to come ' was the waitresses only explanation. These items constituted over a third of the menu, four of which were our initial preferred choices so she had to come back three times and didn 't even really know what was on or off o the menu and had to keep going back to the till or the kitchen to ask. We came to the place with so much goodwill and anticipation but probably will not be coming back now as if you 're going to charge £140 for dinner for two with a relatively modest drinks order (two glasses each , then you can 't have such gaping holes in what you 're offering. There was no management in evidence so we had to politely tell the waitress of the end of our disappointment. I think someone with a little more autonomy might have made some sort of gesture towards the bill but that was unforthcoming. That 's not what we came in looking for by any means but might have helped us as a gesture. As it is, all that credit accrued is blown away especially to two locals that were genuinely intending to make it a regular visit. So disappointing."

"my enkelin chose this place for the pizza for her family birthday party yesterday. they ordered pizzas, a pasta and a few pages. when the order arrived, one of the pizzas was missing when they complained, she was told that they could not do anything. she should go through deliveroo. she could hear the chef in the background that he was only prepared for the two pure pizzas we had ordered. we offered to collect the missing pizza, but they refused. we felt that the person with whom my enkelin spoke was rude and was simply not interested. deliveroo not to deal with these things on the phone, they need to email them. all we wanted was the missing pizza we had ordered, not a refund. they had taken the money, but had not fulfilled the complete order! as a family we used this restaurant as it opened for the first time and there were regular customers. we enjoyed eating there and recommended this place to others. we will not do that anymore! the customer service seems to have gone completely out of the window. Luckily there are many alternative pizza places close to choosing from."

"This place is really great! We walked past a few times when it was closed during lockdown and finally made the trip over today for a Sunday lunch. The food was incredible, one of the best Sunday lunches you’ll have (we had the pork and veggie the others looked amazing too)! The service is brilliant (they replaced the knife we dropped before we could even pick it up off the floor) the interior is really pretty with a hidden outdoor sun trap out the back and the beer selection and cocktail menus are great. Hidden secret the salted caramel dessert will not disappoint anyone with a sweet tooth!"
