"I came here with a few friends for a quiet reunion drink one Friday evening. We had a friend visiting from abroad, we were in the neighborhood and liked the look of The Pig and Whistle. It's laid out nicely, with a good amount of seating and a decent selection of beers and spirits on offer as well. Staff were also friendly enough. Before long, we were all enjoying a beer and catching up with each other. My big issue was when I went up to get a few drinks a couple of hours in. We weren't going to be staying out much longer so I thought I'd switch to spirits. I ordered a double whisky for myself (Talisker, neat), a G&T (double Bombay sapphire) and a pint of ale. This came to £27.30. I must not have heard the bar lady at the time or I would have questioned this, but I was naturally shocked when I saw this on my receipts later on. I've been to pubs in Central London where I could have gotten all of the above for considerably less. I know that Youngs pubs are often a bit pricier but I thought that was pushing it. I don't know if the bar staff made a mistake or if it really is that pricey, but I certainly was not expecting that from a local pub on the outskirts of Wimbledon. I'd be happy to discuss this with a manager or member of staff from the pub, but as it stands I'm still left with a very bitter aftertaste and will not be returning."

Pig Whistle is a popular meeting place for a drink or tasty meal. There's always something happening here..games or music and the long-serving staff are friendly.

Went in for lunch with friends and from the minute we arrived it was fantastic.warm welcome from the barmaid who served us excellently delivered the food which was hot and fantastic on time and even though she appeared to be on her own took time to see if everything was ok. As I said food was fantastic which added to a pleasant afternoon View menu

Came here for an evening of light drinking, just to enjoy the atmosphere. We started in the garden, where you can get your own 'hut ' if there is space. Good selection of drinks (for me anywhere that has Thatchers cider, Mount Gay Rum and a good savignon blanc keeps me happy). The decoration is interesting, have a look through the pig paraphernalia. Service at the bar was really friendly and welcoming. We didn 't have food, but will go back to try some!

Made my way from Balham, ordered drinks, manager wanted credit card (I will not leave my credit card with ANYONE EVER) offered nationally accepted photo ID driving licence to leave behind bar, but they will not accept this but will accept a stolen/found credit card! WTF!! Refused to eat here until they adopt a 21st century security policy. On the plus side on our way back to Earlsfield Station we stopped at The Wandle (other end of Penrith road) excellent food friendly staff, a must, see my review.

Having visited this pub a lot with our boys before, we had an extremely disappointing experience today. They have now stopped doing a children 's menu and told only option for kids is a smaller portion of fish and chips. Asked if they could do chicken strips off main menu for kids wth chips and was clearly told no. They then told off for our 3 year old for playing in the garden... 'kids should be sat down at all times ' apparently. It was a Saturday lunchtime. Will definitely not be visiting again! View menu

I visit the Pig Whistle every year during the Wimbledon tennis fortnight for evening meals and a few beers 2 visits this year. Food is always good and the portions are substantial. Usually has a very lively but relaxed atmosphere, spilling into the beer garden and seating area outside at the front when in warm weather. Relaxing lounging area and tabled area inside. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and will readily engage in banter service is prompt and with a smile. I’d be a regular if not for the distance between the Pig and my home cos no way am I walking 500 miles for a pint, I do proclaim!

Lovely pub but the staff make the experience feel very unwelcoming (aimed at the two young women working bank holiday Sunday). They so obviously did not want to be at work and were doing the utmost to get all the punters out of the pub ASAP so they could leave. We were asked a number of times to finish our pints though they had only called time at the bar not long before. Even when ordering a drink they made you feel uncomfortable if it was not convenient for them end of the day, don’t work in a customer facing industry if you feel like it is a chore to do such a task. As I said, it’s a nice pub but the staff really let this place down to the point that I don’t want to visit it or recommend...

"I was super excited to come to this restaurant as someone friends recommended it to us before and today we went to a friends birthday. I was extremely disappointed because my expectations were really high specially when the restaurant has 4.9 stars. The staff definitely needs some training as the service we received was shocking. First we were waiting for glasses to drink our sangria for a good ten minutes, then we ordered started and main and we were missing one of the starters we then said that it was fine because the lady that brought the starters to us insinuated it was our fault and stated she only had one in the ticket even thought the other guy who took the order double checked it. Then it was time for the mains everything came out apart for our food which he said was coming in a few minutes, we received our food after 45 minutes not only that but no one came to apologise to us and they didn’t even realised we were missing food. Which makes me think they were only focusing on cleaning and closing instead of taken care of the only customers in the restaurant. When my other friends were eating some people came and at that point we were told not to laugh for no reason. They got their food first so we were definitely forgotten and highlighted it to the guy. He was joking around and we didn’t even get a proper apology. The lady there was really rude and was very clear to all of us that she didn’t want to be there and that was really off putting. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all unless you want to be treated horribly."
