"My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant. First, let me say that I thought it was overpriced by American standards based on what you get. The photos make it appear that the buffet is very large and has a wide selection. Not true...by American standards. There is a tappanyaki grill as advertised. I took some raw shrimp and fried rice to the man to have him cook it, he told me he couldn't because it would burn. I asked the man did he know how to cook shrimp fried rice and although the rice was previously cooked, couldn't he just put the rice on the grill after the shrimp was cooked and just heat it on the grill for thirty seconds to a minute? The manager came by and told me the same thing, the rice would burn. I asked the manager if he ever been to St. Louis, Missouri in the USA. I asked because St. Louis has the best Chinese Food on the planet....don't ask me why but they do. The service was okay but for the price of 17 .95 Euros, I thought it was high. Lunch is 9.95 Euros and I probably would have given a better review at this price because that seems more appropriate for what you get. Also, drinks costs extra. About 2.50 Euro for soft drink. We paid 3.00 Euros for Green tea each. No Refills on drinks. I eat at a lot of Chinese Restaurants and buffets in the USA. This restaurant is subpar in my opinion and I did not care much for the food or the dinner selection. Again, this may be a better place for lunch rather than dinner, but I did not have lunch there. The restaurant is on the second floor, but there is an elevator and escalator inside the store within the shopping center where the restaurant is located."

"The restaurant/hotel is up on a hill with a lovely view of the vineyards below, weil am Rhein and Basel. This looked like the perfect place for a family lunch on a sunny summer day. Unfortunately we could not enjoy it as much as we...would have liked because of the extremely unfriendly waitress. She came over to ask what we wanted to drink, and after literally seconds where our children could not decide what to take she made an annoyed face and left saying she would come back later. After a while she came back and we ordered. She looked totally bored, I can't remember exactly, I probably asked her to repeat what she had jotted down and she answered annoyed...At that point my husband and I were seriously thinking we should up and go, but the kids were starving so we stayed. We all received our plate at a different time. The food itself was ok. Two of us had schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel was a bit greasy but the salad good. I had a huge omelette with green salad...I found it annoying though that the omelette had ham in it and nobody had mentioned it (it just said omelette on the menu), as I prefer vegetarian food. Finally we decided not to take desert and ask for the bill. At this point there was a short moment of confusion as we discovered they did not take cards, only cash. And of course the lady was not happy when I offered to give her some swiss francs instead of euro. Eventually I found all the money we needed in Euro, and she was of course disappointed we didn't leave her a cent of tip. Sorry, this is not how you behave with customers in a restaurant, or with anybody for that matter! To summarize: the spot is beautiful, food is average, we won't go back as we don't enjoy being treated this way."

"we have recently eaten as a group of people who are part of the fitness club of my man, in this place at midday. otts leopoldhöhe lies a few steps from the somewhat tristen main road and looks over the Rhine valley to the vogesen ... in frankreich am horizont as well as on the railway rails, among which the arrival of the railway was probably what gave a former village the status of a city. the roots of this city, however, are far more back to the Roman times, than imperial trajan there at n. chr. a station built on the Roman road from augusta raurica am rhein in Switzerland to north in germania. ott’s leopoldhöhe is not quite as old, but it is a historical building that has been a restaurant for years and has since been operated by the present owner. hotel restaurant has been tastefully renovated, but has preserved a cheerful and bright rustic charm with a lot of local character; there are many wood panels for a warm atmosphere. we had our apero down in the cellar and they are trying to say kerkers when they descend over narrow and stepped stone steps into a high cellar with vaulted ceiling. it houses zig flax wein, a large part of it from local cultivation, as the region between the Rhine and the mountains of the black forest favors a moderate climate with Mediterranean character, which is the opposite ideal for weinberge, which are abundant near. large old wooden wineries line a wall, which is now supposedly empty, only to fill the atmosphere from which this underground catacomb is anyway abundant. they expect the phantom of the opera to sing passionate borrower at any time or to find one of the less happy characters from one of these deliciously hair-bearing layers of edgar all poe, perhaps a la the cask of amontillado. we were pampered there with the wine with very tasty appetizers; spit with juicy, hearty chicken pieces, cheese poppers and veggie poppers, all very tasty. again in one of the dining areas we sat on a large table, smaller tables were pushed together. it is a white table cloth, a linen napkin and silver cutlery that are the kind of genuine article, with wine glasses where you can bathe, to small and flat, vaulted dishes, in which you can pour some olive oil to immerse the french bread served in braided baskets. now, I love brot, but French brot often tastes like old and standing gum that is spiced with sawdust; this sort here was fresh and tasty with a slightly crispy crust. the dishes were selected for our group: for the selection stand ossobuco with risotto or bark with sweet cubes. I wanted a lighter meal: no problem, they were very flexible, and I got a large salad plate with many salad varieties and nice presented and grilled putenbrust ... it was totally delicious and delicious, the salad all fresh. the two meat dishes were also very tasty and there were large portions; but most tellers were empty. I had chocolate ice cream for dessert... also really good! the service was very, very friendly, attentive and prompt, the welcome at the arrival was warm and welcoming. In summary, I cannot say the least negative about this place, not even mediocre. great eating, beautiful atmosphere, friendly and good service, good value for money, even if it is more expensive than other places in the city, but the quality is exponentially higher than many what there is. this is a place for special occasions, for upscale kitchen, for jubilees, birthdays, any kind of festive eating or just for an excellent lunch or dinner. because and the surrounding cities this is certainly one of the absolute top options. I can't recommend"

"We came into the Hotel Adler without booking after discovering that another local restaurant was full, and another still was closed, and as spontaneous visitors were initially doubtful about whether we could get a table. We were also subjected to that subtle extra assessment by the owner when we went in and we thought that perhaps we were not their preferred "type" of people. I was not a German speaker and we were probably less well dressed than those at other tables, having not originally resolved to visit such an expensive restaurant. This initial feeling of being rather too closely and sceptically examined was complemented by my German-speaking partner being made to feel feeling at first rather unwelcome. We very nearly got up and left before ordering. Something seems to have changed in this treatment, however, as we felt more and more comfortable as the excellent meal went on and the double-edged service changed to a more appropriate and accepting treatment by a younger waitress anxious to please. The food could not have been faulted and the wine selection was excellent. It was a high price to pay and a most unfortunate start, but all in all we enjoyed our spontaneous evening. But it is worth warning others not to be too put off when you are not immediately made welcome as spontaneous visitors, but to wait to see if, as in this case, the service improves."
