"We stopped for dinner at this place and were initially seated outside at one of the few free tables. It looked there were a lot of regular visitors as everybody seemed to know each other. Almost at every table there were smokers and as my...daughter hates that when eating, we checked if the inside of the restaurant was a better solution. Strangely enough there were smokers there as well, so we decided to stay outside. We went for Wiener Schnitzels (x2), Cordon Bleu and I ordered Züricher Geschnetzeltes with Spätzle. The Salads were served first and i have to say that both dressing options were great. I liked the French a bit better than the Italian. Meats were good as well although I found that the Schnitzels could have been a bit crispier. Although I liked my dish, I would have preferred the dish to be with Rösti instead of Spätzle but of course that's subject to taste. Portion size is more than generous; after the already big salads, none of us could finish their plate. I would have rated 4 stars for service and food but the amount of smokers around us made me decide to give three stars."

that is not an Italian restaurant, but a German bistro. the meat is acceptable while the pasta dishes are poorly prepared.

Last time we went there, me and my friends got food poisoning (3 from 5) all 3 of us ordered steak with fries. Never going back there again.

We were looking for a lunch on a Tuesday and ended up there after reading the reviews. The food was good and the place crowded. A bit pricey but good.

Very nice choice of pasta and meat dishes. Tried the fish plate with spaghetti last friday, with salad (you can also get a soup as starter). It was fine and tasty, with salad for 9€ ! Excellent ! I will be back really soon.

We have eaten here several times and they never fail to provide excellent friendly service and high quality food. The restraunt is a smoking sports bar and with small eating area separated by a sliding glass door. As the tables inside are very limited it...is wise to book to avoid disappointment.

eating is ok. standard menu for the area. the decor and the service are also a bit better than average. the real problem is that the dining room is next to a bar in which you can smoke (very unusual in these days) and there is a door separates. the two rooms, and the waiter goes through this door. They usually manage to close it, but. it's just annoying.

First of all, the food deserves a 3 star rating. However, the reason for me giving it a 1 star is that when I came to pay by card at the bar. The guy who had served me all night gave me the receipt but...not my bank card. When I asked for it he tried to say he had given it to me. I had to insist that he hadn't, he then grudgingly gave it back to me and wasn't happy that I had caught him out. Therefore I would avoid paying by bank card as I believe he wanted the card to commit credit card fraud.

I was in basel for work, but remained on the cheaper side of the border in because on the Rhine. the hotel owner/manager suggested a few places, and galileo was among them. I went in and was greeted by the restaurant owner / chef chef of a...Waitress, both very nice despite limited English. it seemed like an average night, with a smoker area around the bar that was closed from a non-smoking dining area. the people later showed up in the evening, so I was happy to come in early. I had casual South German kitchen, consisting of a mixed salat as side, to swarms with a kind of cream sauce spatzle (my first time.) it was delicious. total for 1 bottle of foam water, 1 main page 1 coffee, the bill...

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
