"We enjoyed a fantastic meal out for my birthday. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. It looked incredible and tasted just as good. I would definitely visit here again and would be quick to recommend to others. Points to note: Signs saying ‘Dog friendly’. Water bowls available for dogs in the garden. The parking area is small but there were plenty of spaces available on a Friday night when we went. Just worth thinking about if you have multiple vehicles in your party. Maybe worth car sharing where possible. Lovely large garden with plenty of tables in the sun or a shaded seating area."

"A group of fifteen of us went for a walk at Greenham Common before heading to Thatcham for dinner. We were warmly welcomed by the staff at the restaurant, where we had pre-booked a table and decided to order from the set menus. We were impressed by the variety of starters that were served, followed by delicious duck pancakes and a selection of tasty main courses. The food was of excellent quality and served in generous portions. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, and there was a good amount of time between each course. We had a wonderful evening and plan to return in the future. Thank you for a great dining experience! Note: Free parking is available after 6pm in the local town centre car park."

Sunday is buffet evening, which means that we can all meet and everyone gets something they like without breaking the bank! if they have only pleasure to eat for the whole meal, why not! the personal is attentive and courteous and eating is kept by a great quality, always top up and hot. "This restaurant will be closing in a few weeks, so make sure to visit before it shuts down. The brisket is incredibly tender, the chicken is flavorful, and the ribs are perfectly cooked and delicious. The smoked beans, gravy, and coleslaw are all top-notch. I can't praise this place highly enough. Even the fries are excellent. It's a shame that there isn't much time left to enjoy the amazing food here. I want to express my gratitude to the staff for providing us with memorable dinners and delicious meals. Best of luck in the future, you deserve it!"

"general information: Italian cuisine (booking a table recommended) my favourite bit: that I have ordered two appetizers and that was a good food for me! and this amazing garlic bread! thin, fresh, soft, tasty, ei! ask for free butter, especially if you did not order me cheese. oh, my days! my worst piece: they have no mocktail prizes for cocktails. I ordered a delicious fruity mojito and asked her that they did not add alcohol because their available mocktails were boring for me. I have calculated the full cocktail price cocktail so think about going ready to pay for such or ready to negotiate for a cheaper price when they order. I'm sorry, the negotiations were not my priority at the moment, so I'm not sure how that could be out to be fair and absolutely honest "

"What a find! A delightful thatched hostelry with the most welcoming host, great food and ales and a song thrush to accompany me back to my little campervan. After a 400 mile drive over from France and nearing the end of 1400 miles from Greece, it was the perfect place to shake off the dust and just relax. Exactly what a quintessential country pub should be. Thank you to all the team, but particularly Jon for your warmest of welcome and attending to my huge thirst for proper ale and fish and chips after a 6 months absence! Bravo!"

"Bill's was fantastic. I had their special Korean burger which was fantastic. My partner had the vegan burger type thingy, which she said was fantastic. I had a bottle of Bills house beer, I thought it was fantastic. I believe it is produced locally which is obviously fantastic. The service was fantastic. Overall the the experience was....... Really, really great. We are planning to pop back at some point."

"went recently as a group of friends for the quiz night. the Quiz master was brilliant, really nice friendly chap and made the evening fun! the toilets were absolutely lukewarm and so unhygienic, all blocked with paper and visible human decay, dirty in...Cubic doors and walls, looked like they were rarely cleaned. we all couldn't believe it, and it made them feel that they're catching something nonsense. please get this sorted out, it is a health and safety problem/environmental health problem."

"fish and chips are undoubtedly Britain's best food served. this was a new height to my previous experience of the restaurants fish and chips. beautifully cooked crispy chips with fresh broken cadry. the fish was very soft when the teig was peeled off. the fish has a very beautiful texture that almost deceives them into thinking maybe it will chew, but it is the other one around and it melts almost immediately. one of the best fish and chips I had so far."

"If you like myself like to sit outside a coffee shop and have a nice cuppa and a ciggy this is not the place for you. See photo. I was sat in this chair after buying a coffee and lit a cigarette, within seconds a member of staff shot out the door shouting you cant smoke there you have to be outside the barrier. So we did move and stood the other side of the barrier and within 4 inches of the chair i was sat in. There was nobody else sat outside at the time and this area is not covered its just an open space in the main street. I finished smoking then sat back down and finished my average coffee. 5 doors away is cafe uno where you can smoke outside and is far better coffee."

"We often visit the Rowbarge for various celebrations but have recently noticed a decline in food/service. On Sunday we visited and left extremely disappointed. Starters were ok but not worth the prices. For mains I ordered the roast chicken with seasonal veg and trimmings. When served it was just chicken, undercooked potatoes cabbage on my plate. I realised the Chef forgot to put on the stuffing and pig in blanket and flagged to the waitress. Items were delivered a little while later cold (and undercooked) in a bowl, which I didn’t eat it. Queried why it was just cabbage for veg and chef advised (via the waiter) it’s all they offer. Pointed to my partners roast dinner, who had other veg options but waiter just shrugged and walked away. At £22 for a roast dinner, I’d expect a better offering and service. 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 soft drinks cost us £83 if the service and food were A* then I’d happily pay, but this wasn’t reflected on the day. Reluctant to recommend to others as we have done before."

"This restaurant has the potential to be a great pub, but it seems like the owners have given up on it. The place has charming old beams and a fireplace that just needs a warming fire. Unfortunately, it was empty on a Saturday afternoon and even the bar was unattended. I had to ask for my pint to be filled to the top, which should never be necessary. Food stopped being served at a surprisingly early time of 3pm, right in the middle of prime pub lunch hours. It's a shame to see this potentially lovely pub being neglected, especially since there doesn't seem to be any decent competition in the area. It's time for the owners to put some effort in and hopefully revive what could be a fantastic local pub."

"Dropped in for lunch on a Sunday and was very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Very generous and extremely well prepared. Great value for money too. "We brought our rescue dog Jack here and it was his first time to a pub. He was quite nervous with the new surroundings and unfamiliar people, but the pub owner was so great with him, and even removed her crutches to slowly and calmly get down on the ground to offer Jack some treats (which he eventually very much enjoyed! . Staff really did all they could to make him (and us feel welcome and we really appreciated all their kind gestures. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, and we hope to be back soon!"

"The person serving me didnt know whether they sold toast or not. Then didn't know if they serve wholemeal bread! How would you know if you sell wholemeal bread? I mean you didn't know you sold toast!!! Toast came .... cold with no margarine or butter. Because in his defence...... we all like dry toast for breakfast don't we. No? Must be a cafe 1 thing. Dry toast YUM!! After asking if I could have some butter.... I get some fresh out the fridge. Like a brick. Delicious I think in future I'll order something far less complicated than a slice of toast. Maybe a glass of water"

"We had the room out the back for a friends birthday meal. The service was awful, we didn’t get our food for over 2 hours and no one came in to check how we were getting on. When the food arrived it was dry, cold and not very nice. Also, a dish we had ordered never came out and someone had to eat something they never ordered. We’ve heard great things so I was excited to see what the buzz was about but I was very disappointed. We were a group of 16 and even pre ordered."

"Driving through Hungerford and decided to stop for a quick brekkie. And found this place near the river. So pleased we went in. Started looking at the breakfast menu, saw cheese and bacon on crumpets and decided no need to look further. Two of those and two pots of tea. All great. We were served by Rose. A veritable fount of knowledge on the cafe, the town, the history, and the story behind the name of the place. Thoroughly recommend the Tutti Pole."

"Used to be so good. Ordered on Friday at 5.30 pm. was told 1 HR wait. Ok. After 2 hrs we phoned back to be told the driver was on the way, 45 mins later the food arrives. Cold. Very cold. Chicken Jalfrezi meat was not good quality, spongy in texture, like defrosted meat might taste. Saag Paneer was ok. Tarka Daal was very good. Lamb Bhuna was nice too. Poppadoms crispy. Peshwari Naan burnt. We were aware we'd have to wait an hour(reasonably for dinnertime) but almost 3 hrs is the longest we've ever waited. Phone responder could have said it would be quicker to collect, but I expect our food was en route to a few addresses before it reached us. We understand places get busy, be sensible with delivery times. encourage collection if really busy, otherwise people may not return."

"at chilis it was very good to eat. as they tell you, when you eat there, everything is from scratch. everything is really delicious and they can choose a season for almost all dishes. regarding the vegan options, there are quite some possibilities. I guess about 3/4 starters and 5/6 main dishes. for the desert some sorbet ice. for vegan sides there are simple basmati rice, redi and papadums. Note that they mention that they eat vegan because some vegetarian dishes may contain lactose of any kind. They can let it out if they know they're vegan."

"Gorgeous Birthday Afternoon Tea! What a fabulous treat, everything homemade so delicious especially the scones sandwiches! Such a pretty tea shop beautifully decorated. Our table was gorgeous with pretty teacups saucers all laid out ready to use. Staff very welcoming smily. We visited the Ritz in London 2 weeks ago told the staff this was so much more enjoyable! Thank you for making my daughters birthday so enjoyable."
