"My family and I decided to try this restaurant for a change since we hadn't been in a couple of years. We were definitely not disappointed! The greeting was warm and friendly, and our drinks arrived quickly as we looked over the new menu. There were plenty of options for both light bites and main courses, including a good selection for vegetarians. I ordered a delicious goats cheese on toast with egg, pesto, pine nuts, and watercress, which was full of flavor. My mom went for the traditional ham, egg, and chips, which was a generous portion. For dessert, we treated ourselves to a baileys brulee and a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, both made on site and incredibly tasty. The cheesecake was the lightest and most delicious I've had in a long time. We were informed that the pub had recently changed ownership, and we will definitely be returning. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable. The food was very good quality and reasonably priced - definitely worth a visit. Thank you."

Under new management and excellent new chef, this pub is great place to pop into if you're in Mortimer! We enjoyed a great lunch meal today and can't wait to try their dinner menu too. Décor and seating still tired, but very friendly staff and nice garden. Big park just opposite with children's play area, basketball court, table tennis etc. Price per person: £10–20

We went here as a family gathering for lunch and to have some food. We were quite blown away by the selection of food, so many good options. I had a lovely bowl of mussels, which were really good. Not many places do mussels, especially pubs, so I had to seize this opportunity. My group had their starters too, which they enjoyed like paté and camembert. For mains, I had a massive burger, which I enjoyed so much that I forgot to take a picture. For dessert, I had a delectable sticky toffee pudding that again I again forgot to take a pic of.
