"I absolutely adore this pub restaurant. The steam punk vibe is amazing and the chef is fantastic, along with the lovely accommodating staff. We decided to have all the starters tapas style and were blown away. The prawns in a chili oil with baked dipping bread were divine, and the tempura-style pickled onion rings were a unique and delicious surprise. The chef's creativity truly shines through in every dish, including the hot and fragrant samosas with a delicious dipping sauce. I highly recommend seeking out this pub, as it may be tucked away off the beaten track but is definitely worth the visit. Now, back to enjoying my frozen daiquiri!"

A last minute booking at the Cross Keys in Newbury was really good. The staff were excellent and patient with us and our 6 year old. The food was delicious loaded fries were AMAZING and the burgers were huge and tasty. I would really recommend. Next time I'm in the area, I will be sure to come back!

aw. the cross keys is one of my favorite pubs in central london, if not for the fantastic ambiente, then for his friendly and chatting bar staff. it is a must for friends who visit from the city, and even I enjoy a drink or two there after work especially in the summer months when they can spill outside and enjoy the beautiful plants and flowers that decorate the entrance.

What a lovely evening. It 's been a while since I caught up with James and Magda and The Cross Keys lived up to expectations great food doggy bag required), cold drinks 'twas a bit warm), excellent staff of course and cool tunes and decor the latter being a flavour of 50 's/60 's Cuban style which shouldn 't be a surprise to those who have frequented Chez James et Magda in years gone by). Thank you lovely people for a superbly chilled evening. We will definitely be back, Gary and Lin

We only visit Newbury once a year and had not been to The Cross Keys since 2015 as we usually stay at the other end of town. Despite liking the eclectic and interesting steam punk decor, we will not be returning. The inside was very hot due to the abundance of lit candles, but the main reason for our dissatisfaction was the overly high prices. We were charged £23 for 2 pints and a small wine, which is double the average price in the town centre and three times the cost of Wetherspoon.

it is now only three years ago (I think), since the historical year old chelsea pub, the cross keys closed its doors. there was a huge petition in the opposite to keep this pub at life, as local developers some great ideas for the website (usually natural). a little more than a year later, everything went quite calmly – until the “professional” squatter had taken the place to be later condemned by the judicial order. then in the januar were spread by its millions of sale and refurbishment plans. as chelsea native I could not have been happier.
