"Visited on Wed 30 September around lunch time.Food was average, fine for the price. However upon coming to pay I put my card on the table and the waitress took my card away from the table before returning after a few minutes with my card and the card machine. At the time I did think this was a bit strange as there was no reason to take my card away but didn't think too much about it.Today my bank's fraud team has contacted me due to suspicious activity on my card. Someone has tried to use it at a hotel in London. This was the only time my card has been out of my sight.So a warning not to allow your card to be taken away from the table. It was a female Chinese member of staff who took the card away which is completely unnecessary as she brought the card machine to the table."

"if they are looking for a Japanese restaurant in york that has a great selection of directed, ipfu definitiw is the place to go. the workers here are all very friendly and helpful, and if they have a potte, they would ask if they need a refill (free.) the dishes are in good portions, especially the soup noodles ramen, udon, and soba to choose. there is also a sushi bar in the restaurant where they can sit at the bar and enjoy their meal (if they prepare the cook when they want)! the entire atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and as it is a large restaurant, they generally do not have to book. I have dimmed several times in ipfu and always come to eat good. Thank you!"

"I used to love this place and go there all the time. Great sushi, reasonable prices and super helpful staff. The new management taking over is incredibly unhelpful. I called them to make a booking flagging that I was loyal customer and i have been going there for the last ten years. The restaurant manager was completely inflexible, couldn’t care less and she invited me to book on open table where everything was obviously fully booked. If you don’t care about your loyal customers, whom do you a care about? Very disappointing."

"We walked in to have a coffee this morning, and were met by very unfriendly staff, who seemed interested in something else, but certainly not serving customers. One gentlemen sitting at a table who had ordered food, asked for his table to be cleaned before his food came, and was met with a stern glare from the staff!? We walked back out after 5 mins of the disinterested staff and unhappy atmosphere, and immediately went a few doors down to Od'thorpes, which was lovely and relaxed by comparison. I shall not be troubling the team at Pretzels again any time soon."

"I came here a couple of months ago, and I got the avocado maki (without mayo, as mayo is disgusting) and the edamame (without onions, because onions are also disgusting), and both were great, especially the sushi. The avocado tasted so good and the texture was good- it wasn't overly soft or chewy. The edamame beans were very salty, which I like but if you don't like very salty food then you'd probably want to ask for it without salt. For dessert, I don't remember the exact name of what I ordered but it was basically these chocolate rice ball things, which taste amazing. At first I wasn't sure I liked them but after having them a couple more times after, I've come to really love them. Overall I highly recommend coming here if you like sushi. If you don't like sushi, however, then probably avoid, as this is a sushi restaurant after all."

"I have never tried Cambodian food, so that this has only made this an unforgettable restaurant trip. it is a really nice caffe that you can see from the cute tablecloths, how the daytime as a teestube doubles (although you also get cabodian food.) it is not cheap, especially for drinks (contrast bunga raya in hazel grove,) but in my view it is good for the quality of eating. we have the early reels and the sriracha chicken wings to start the latter are delightful sticky and sweet and they get 4 big wings to share so big. the early rolls were in order, but I would probably try something else next time, maybe the summer rolls. the nets we thought were really standing by the appetizers as excellent dishes I loved the fish curry (cambodias national court) and bf equally loved his bark carari. if they go on a Friday/Saturday, they should book as it is not so big and pleasantly busy with customers."

"I’ve been coming here for years but today was the last day I would set foot in this restaurant. The level of rudeness was unbelievable. The food also went down in terms of quality. When I asked for the bill, they tried to overcharge me. I had to ask them to check (something I would never do normally but the bill came to £150 when it was just me and my 8 year-old daughter). They admitted it was wrong but then something was wrong with the till. They had to call “the boss” who came in and was extremely rude. He gave the bill with added service charge when I had to correct the bill and wait for a long time to pay. He then waved a £50 note at me saying “here, you take this and go get some coffee for yourself”. I could not believe how insulting and rude he was. I would avoid this place like a plague. Clearly, they have zero service mind and should never be in this business."

"Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with Toddington services. My recent visit left much to be desired, as the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the establishment were subpar. The tables were cluttered with empty wrappings and remnants of food, and it was disheartening to see overflowing bins from previous patrons. Despite my best efforts, I couldn 't find a clean table to sit at, nor did I encounter any cleaning staff during my visit. A word of caution to future visitors: be sure to wipe your feet upon leaving. Overall, I would advise against stopping at this location until significant improvements are made to its cleanliness and maintenance standards."

"Food was over half an hour late; driver completely missed our block of flats and wandered off in the opposite direction, didn’t ring us at all, and didn’t show with the food for another 10 minutes. We then got a phone all from the restaurant to say that the driver was outside. We notified them that there had been no knock. We then looked outside and the driver was at a different block of flats over the road. Food was then cold when we opened it (no wonder, given how late it was and the 10 minutes outside! . Quality was okay but nothing special. I don’t think we will order again,"

"The first time I had Vietnamese food was from ‘Pho’ restaurant and I hated it. The second time was when my boyfriend persuaded me to try Tom’s and I LOVED it. Now I’m addicted and a regular. The menu is simple and EVERYTHING on it...is amazing and consistent every single time. Fresh delicious, made with love and served with a smile. The summer rolls have the most amazing dip and I call the pork “crack pork” now coz once you’ve tried it, you can no longer walk past, smell it and not have it. Always recommend this place and everyone has thanked me for it. I feel lucky to have this place so close to me"

"This has long been one of my favorite establishments in the area, known for its delightful offerings and warm atmosphere. However, on my last two visits, I encountered a very concerning issue with the fried chicken. While portions of it were perfectly fine, some pieces carried an unpleasant, spoiled flavor that was impossible to ignore. I trust this was an isolated incident, but I felt it important to bring to your attention. It may be worth investigating whether the oil or another aspect of preparation could be contributing to this issue, as spoiled food, especially meat, is an extremely serious matter! Such occurrences detract from the otherwise good standards I associate with your restaurant and have left me hesitant about returning.
