"Separate vegan menu with a good selection of options, I struggled to choose! Ended up with the Korean style cauliflower and Tom Kha Noodle soup, which were both stunning. Great atmosphere in the place, was light and airy, with a lovely view over the harbour. Staff were lovely, too. Would recommend to anyone visiting Porthleven!"

The bar space is a great place to stop for refreshment at any point during the day. The bar staff know how to serve a cracking cocktail too! The bar and dining room has a warm, chilled out vibe think bare bricks and wooden floors even when it's buzzy busy. A visit is made all the more enjoyable by super friendly front of house staff and a manager who knows how to keep customers coming back for more! It's a top spot in Cowes and not to be missed!"

"Great place but starting to look a bit tired. Toilets are an issue as limited and not particularly clean which is always a red flag! "Have seen this restaurant on previous visits to Blackpool, but never had the opportunity to visit. This time we did, but we were casually dressed and looking for somewhere informal PLUS we had my mum with us, who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. I popped in and asked if we could eat outside. This was fine. It was explained that I should take menu outside, then go back in to order and pay. We did this, and on ordering was told that the total included an optional service charge. I said we'd pay it on the assumption that the service was very good. Service was good, food was good, prices on the high side for what we got. However, overall a very nice meal."

"Went here with my daughter to book and pay deposit for a babyshower. Decided to have lunch first ordered 2 jacket potatoes with toppings, when came one was given to a different table but this was sorted promptly. I took one bite and realised mine was cold ask my daughter about hers and she said hers was cold too we told staff they said we will get fresh ones done. About 15 mins later we both received another which were the same ones just reheated and reshaped. And yet again first bite cold again the manager came to our table and said he'd seen them come out of the oven himself, I told him to touch the potatoe as I wasn't eating it anyway and yes it was cold he couldn't understand why. Faulty microwave in my opinion. We didn't pay for our drinks as consolation but haven't booked the baby shower either. Only ten people in the restaurant at the time and we weren't the only ones sending cold food back."

"Fantastic restaurant. Very friendly staff and they could fit us in without a reservation on a Friday night. Food was excellent and the wine choices were good and well paired to rhe menu. "A summary would be amazing food, lovely atmosphere and perfect service. This is a great place to enjoy proper home cooked food. We had a combination for food from the normal menu and some specials. First the normal menu offered delicious loaded fries, perfectly cooked pancakes with nutella, the Club sandwich was packed with filling and the excellent OM Eggs Benny. Also from the normal menu you must try the Sweet Potato Bhaji's ! From the specials we had the Mac and Cheese with brisket which was wow but i loved my Sausage Grilled Cheese sandwich which was amazing ! Coffee was great and this is just a lovely place to eat !"

"Warnes is my favorite restaurant of all time. The food is always incredible every single time, the service is fantastic, nice atmosphere; every visit just reiterates how great it is. I have been possibly in excess of 10 times have never had a bad meal or experience. The belly pork main dish has a cult following for very good reason. the sticky toffee pudding is next level. Also enjoy the dirty fries on the lunch menu, super tasty, the cheesy garlic bread is insanely good watch out for the tiny loaf of bread with the soup! Dietary restrictions: I have visited with members of the family who require gluten free Warnes has an extensive menu which provides this dietary requirement without losing any of the quality."

"My friend and I visited Silk Road tonight. We were greeted by Etty and shown our seats. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. We were given menus and were spoilt for choice. We choose 7 dishes and each one was full of flavour and piping hot. The Mediterranean Sea bass and nasi goreng were my favourite. Tom also came and spoke to us. The staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. The drinks were well priced and the deals were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable night with delicious food in a restaurant that had a lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and will return."

"The bread was microwaved to warm up, this turned it tough to eat. We had to ask twice for water, it was not busy. We ordered a main course, given a choice of mild, medium or spicy, we ordered mild. The meal was very spicy and could not eat it. The staff noticed my wife didn't eat it but waited till later to ask. Too late to replace. Not impressed with the pizza's. Never go again. I would like to amend my review after my wife and I visited for the second time and discussed the review with Ben Lym. We cannot fault the service, very attentive, polite and helpful. We cannot amend what we stated in our initial review because what happened happened. We can however understand the situation that first night and that our second meal was very good. I respect a restaurant owner who takes constructive criticism and acts on it. Finally we would like to add that we will be back again. "I took my girlfriend and dog to the picturesque area of Calbourne for a muddy Sunday walk, and what better way to top it off than with a Sunday roast. The Blacksmith Arms is a charming rustic country pub run by a fantastic family. We received a warm welcome from the rain, with dog biscuits, a blanket, and a roaring fire. The pub's decor is a mix of farmhouse style furniture and modern fixtures, creating a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious and great value for money. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the stuffing and crackling were particularly outstanding. The pub also offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and is a perfect stop for a Sunday treat. Well done to the staff on their Red Funnel award - it is well deserved!"

"With restrictions, the sun is out... my little family of 2 adults and two children under 10 were in the mood for a treat. Hare and Hounds have not disappointed. We tried the Tofu-Buo-Buos and our taste buds were blown! Then to follow excellent crispy and generously proportional fish and chips for dad and the two children, while mom enjoyed a beautiful poached sea stream dishes. Dessert was also a creditor, the chocolate corner. Unusually I know, but we enjoyed a beautiful, rich dark old Veinfandel with our fish sauce. And half a pinch of Bambino as a palate cleaner! We left with satisfied appetites and look forward to our next return. The menu changes every month we believe."

"Nothing worth five stars like all other reviews . Doesn’t deserve a Michelin as well . Save the money for other restaurants in York , like Melton the only other we tried , which had good service and good food and good vibe. 1 service is not great . The male waiter who served us was with standard service but another female waitress is just half black faced for no reason . It’s not only towards us but I can see she had the same face for other tables as well . Her serving manner was so bad that her manager kept correcting her at table side . 2 food is standard , nothing special , maybe except the egg custard . The duck was cold . 3 the waiting time between course highly depended on the occupancy of the restaurant . The more table occupied , the longer up to 25 mins the waiting time . And this should not happen in a Michelin star place . Won’t suggest anyone to waste money to come . We have been to many Michelin star places , nowhere offered such a bad experience that we actually craving to finish everything and leave ."

"This once great “pub” has become more and more elitist and up itself. I remember the much heralded opening in 2016 as well as giving it a 5-star review and considering it one of the town’s gems. But now, with the place owned independently, it’s trying to position itself as a gastro pub but has entirely lost the pub vibe. Turning-up at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon we’re asked if we’ve booked. Replying that we haven’t, we are told that it’s table service only and they can only squeeze us in to a table outside. So we sit, and we wait. And wait. After 15 minutes with nobody coming out and being told by the trendy young person at the bar that it’s always been table service and it’s every day, we get up and leave. How this place can claim to be first and foremost a pub is misrepresentation. If you want a real pub, there are plenty in HH and the recently opened “Tap” on South Road gives a better choice of beers that rotate more frequently. If you want a decent restaurant, there are better options than the Lockhart, which for the most part hasn’t changed its menu since it opened."

"2nd Time visiting. First time we went it was a little gem. But from my 2nd visit I feel like the place has dropped it standards. When we arrived we was sat down near the door, very cold outside so every time someone came in there was a cold breeze. The restaurant was very cold. Drinks took 20mins to come other tables got served drinks before us and they come after us. as we ordered just soft drinks. Asked for cola zero, received normal coke. Food wise cant complain was good, taste was good, i feel like the portion sizes have reduced a lot. Did not appreciate the service charge that was added to the bill. I refuse to pay that. Maybe I will give it another try. But not anytime soon. Thank you."

"We visited this restaurant for dinner based on my brother's recommendation and were thoroughly impressed. It is a fantastic spot for a meal, featuring friendly staff and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The selection of tapas was excellent, with plenty of choices available. The quality of the food was outstanding, and it was served at a good pace, ensuring we always had plenty on the table. The desserts were also delightful, and I would even say they were better than the main courses—but everything was really excellent. Given this experience, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit. I would definitely return!"

"We reserved a table for six people and found that all the food was excellent. I failed to snap a photo of the steak burger, but it was the best I have ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was outstanding. We dined in for dinner and found the price per person to be between £10-20. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 5 stars. I recommend trying the Chicken Halloumi Bowl, Cauliflower Steak, and Dirty Vegan Fries."

"I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30pm and found that it wasn't too crowded. I was seated at a table near the entrance to the restroom, which felt a bit cramped as there was another couple sitting back to back at an adjacent table. The constant traffic of people going in and out of the restroom was a bit annoying. The dim sum menu was a bit pricier than what you would typically find at a teahouse. The shrimp ball rice with smooth egg looked more like gravy and the portion of egg was small. The dish was a bit bland and needed soy sauce for flavor. The salt and pepper pork knuckles were decent, though a bit too fried for my taste. The bill came out to be quite expensive, possibly due to the upscale location of the restaurant. Overall, my experience was average and I probably wouldn't make the long drive there again to eat."

"Incredible food, incredible service. I will always come back here as long as this restaurant is in business whenever I visit this area again. The food was exceptional! The specials menu changes regularly which makes it even more special to me to know they source local produce. The flavours in every dish we ordered, were prepared with so much understanding and love for food from all around the world. This place deserves a Michelin Bib recommendation. No fault to anything here. Service was incredible. Super friendly staff who I felt super warmth from (could be because they are family owned? I’m unsure). Please visit here if you want to go out for dinner."
