"This used to be our favourite pub in Chester, and we have stayed here twice. However we 've been out of the country and thus not been here since 2019. It is not the same. Went for an evening meal. Beer (brewed on site and admittedly very good was £5.50 per pint which is about £1.20 £1.30 over the odds for this part of the country. Very limited menu with fish and chips at £17.95 (again ridiculous price locally . We had decided to 'suck it up ' (we had booked, after all but then they told they 'd run out of chips! How can a pub run out of chips? Admittedly manager(? was politely apologetic. It 's a city cente pub and was very quiet at 8pm on a Tuesday evening no surprise. A place to be avoided until they improve their menu and drop their prices by 20 30"

"It was a lovely restaurant. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars all round is because it was my birthday and when we went in the restaurant was not busy but they place us in a dark area of the restaurant. In the middle by a wall which felt like we we were dumped there by the first young girl that served us. We asked to move and was asked if we have a booking. I said yes and quickly booked a table. When they checked the system only then did they open the whole back of the restaurant and put us in a decent area where it was more scenic. The restaurant never got busy so I don't understand why we were not initially offered a decent table. The food and the young lady(different) that served us now is what saved the experience and made it a lovely end to my birthday."

"I highly recommend this new bar and restaurant for a fantastic dining experience. The Fischeintopf dish, similar to Thai curry, is a must-try. Additionally, they have live Brazilian music in the evenings with dancing. The service is personalized, and they offer a variety of cocktails. The decor is unique and beautiful, with plant-covered walls and comfortable seating. This place has become a new favorite of mine!"

"We went as there was a restaurant week type offer. 2 courses for £10 3 for £15 The food is usually really lovely here so we were expecting similar but maybe smaller portions. The menu was limited which was fine but the standard of food was not great. Starters were ok but very small. My main course was fish goujons which were very greasy served with oven chips. My partners linguine was in a sauce that was overly salted it was actually inedible. The dish was remade which was less salty but wasn't amazing. Overall very disappointing. I feel the restaurant could have showcased their usual standard of food with smaller portions for the offer price. If this was my first time going there I wouldn't return based on what we had."

"The staff at Slim's restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. However, during our visit, a number of items on the menu were unavailable, such as freshly squeezed juice and the buffalo flower wings that I had been looking forward to. I assume this may have been due to COVID-related issues, so I am willing to overlook it. My meat-loving partner enjoyed his lobster roll, while I was satisfied with the beetroot and goat cheese salad that was delicious. Unfortunately, the oat milk turmeric latte that I ordered was not up to par. I have had many turmeric lattes in the past, and this one was disappointing."

"Yesterday, I visited this restaurant with a group of 7 cyclists. We were warmly welcomed and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the smoked salmon and rucola on roasted bagels (£5.95). "I booked Blue Mountain Yard on Saturday 7th May as a treat for mums birthday based on the fact that when visiting previously I had a wonderful experience, this was NOT the case this time around. We arrived about 10 minutes after the reserved time (couldn’t find parking), once seated we only took about 10minutes to decide on what we wanted to order. It was approximately 14:20. Our drinks came out very quickly. When it got to the 30 min mark of waiting we did begin to wonder why it was taking some time as the restaurant was nowhere near busy, in fact there were on about 6 tables being served. I did however notice there were only two servers and one girl on the bar, who started her break just after serving our drinks. I couldn’t tell how many kitchen staff there were. We got to about 50mins of waiting for our food when we noticed that one of the servers approached the table behind us to let them know that they were sorry that there was a delay as they were waiting on some food to still be cooked and they were offered a refund, bear in mind we arrived before this table and not one person thought it would be a good idea to let us know. After about and hour my mum at this point had, had enough and ask what the hold up was. It was only then we receive any type of acknowledgement or apology. We waited for another 10minutes and decided we were leaving, we asked for a refund, we were still charged for the drinks which I thought was ridiculous that they weren’t given as a good will gesture. I am disheartened to write this review as I am all about supporting black businesses but the service on this particular day was terrible. I didn’t notice the owner being in that day, he is usually so accommodating and provides a great service, which may have been the reason for such poor service."

"Even with £10 discount this meal was overpriced. We had a steak priced at £21 which was badly butchered badly cooked small and very tough. I saw a member of staff wiping his unmasked mouth and nose with his hand and then serve food. sat in a chair that was so wobbly it would not taken a heavy person I am 11st 4lb) and on pointing this out to a member of staff he just simply left it there for someone else to sit on. The music was so loud we had difficulty hearing the waitress she was sweet if very untrained) or conversing. table was sticky. Well thats enough to be getting on with if they are really interested."

"This restaurant was lovely, however, I did not give it a perfect rating due to a slight issue on my birthday. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy but we were seated in a dark area by a wall. It felt like we were simply placed there by the first server we encountered. After requesting to move, we were asked if we had a reservation, which we quickly made. It was only after checking the system that they opened up a nicer area at the back of the restaurant for us. The restaurant never got very busy, so I was confused as to why we were not initially offered a better table. Despite this initial disappointment, the food and service from another waitress ultimately saved the experience and made it a wonderful way to end my birthday celebration."

"This place was so unfair to me, they made me come back thrice all because of their bad service. I came on Sunday 15/09/2024 evening for my free food and they sent me back because they were having an event. Then I came back on Monday but I forgot the slip that home but I had it snapped on my phone, and even when I came on Sunday, I showed the worker that sent me back in person, but they said I couldn’t have my food, so I went home to get it and come back just for the manager to open his mouth and tell me that kitchen close by 8, so I should come back another day, after all the stress, frustration and unnecessary expenses they put me through. I would honestly not recommend here for anyone else, thanks!"

"Visited here Friday night for a friends 50th Birthday. There were 10 of us and we had an amazing time. This place is brilliant if you like to enjoy yourself and join in the fun. The band kept us entertained all night with interactive games dances etc. They were brill (felt like I'd been hit by a bus the next day tho, not used to all that exercise lol) dancing on the benches etc. To top it off drinks prices are quite reasonable, and the waitress service good. We shall definitely be coming here again...can't wait"
