"We had booked a large party and had to pre order our food for the kitchen. We was part of an event and only had a certain amount of time before we had to be back. A few days before we rang and spoke to the supervisor K y who confirmed that we could move our reservation from 3:30 to 3pm. Once seated we waited an hour for food to arrive. After several conversations with staff that we needed to be back for 4:30 and all food was preordered we kept getting similar responses of plating up now, I’ll go check with the kitchen. Once the food began to arrive at 4:10pm it looked rushed and several dishes were burnt and one child’s meal had not been made. My Yorkshire pudding tasted like just batter, roast potato had no potato in it. We left very upset and disappointed wouldn’t recommend with group bookings."

"We moved to Tonbridge 6 months ago, so have been checking out different restaurants around Kent. We were recommended the local butchers a few months ago so thought I’d check out the pubs. They had a cancellation so managed to fit us in. It’s a nice small pub, quirky and was very busy so had a good feeling when we walked in! The staff all work very hard and are polite. We ordered the roast pork and beef and it was incredible, I am not exaggerating when I say these roast potatoes were the best I have ever had. My girlfriend had the sticky toffee pudding and she said it was great too. After having a roast in south borough and tonbridge, I was surprised at the quality of the food for the price. 10/10 meal and will be regulars for the roast that’s for sure. We noticed they are doing a tomahawk steak night for 2 for £75 on Tuesday so we have booked that, fingers crossed it’s as good as the roast"

"Nadon Thai is one of those restaurants I 've been meaning to visit for a few years now and now I have I 'm somewhat underwhelmed. The decor which looks great on photographs is decidedly dated and somewhat tacky (needs a good dose of TLC) although the front of house staff are pleasant and efficient. My biggest dissappointment though was the food. To start I had the barbequed pork which was fatty and tough and the garnish lack lustre. This was followed by Beef Penang Curry being served with a thin soup like consistency when in all other Thai restarants I 've visited it is served almost dry with only a small amount of rich, thick sauce, and the beef was tough. The jasmine rice however was nice. Price wise it wasnt expensive and much on par with other Thai restaurants but for the poor quality of the food it did not represent good value."

"Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. But no idea what happened to the food! 2 mixed grills ordered. One medium , one medium rare. Both were medium rare and tough, sausages missing off one, chicken missing off the other, tomato missing off one, a member of staff did rush out with 2 sausages just prior to me going to ask where they were. Both people in our party said their grill wasn’t hot. 2 festive salmon dishes were lovely but again food wasn’t hot. 2 children’s deserts were meant to be topped with strawberry, not a strawberry in site, try telling a 4 year old and a 2 year old where Santas hat had gone. The pre ordered deserts we had to ask for as they seemed to have forgotten. A after eight sundae arrived with loads of after eights in but whole! Very difficult to negotiate around the sundae glass. I’ve had this at another brewers fayre and they were cut into pieces). Whoever made this needs lessons in presentation. But thanks for the 9 in total after eight mints. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Bacon Cheese Burger, Fish, Triple Chocolate Brownie, Ice Cream Sundae With, Mixed Grill"

"Is it Asian? Is it Western? Is it an artisan coffee shop? It seems to be all of the above. Is it authentic? Wrong question. The place bills itself as an Asian fusion cafe. Considering I only saw one Asian (Singaporean? out of half of dozen staff roaming around, and I was perhaps the only Asian in the whole restaurant area, we should take the Asian part with a pinch of salt. You 've got your choice of rice and noodle dishes, sushi, or a selection of meat goodness wedged inside a steamed bun. We decided to go with the last option since it was the most out of the ordinary we were not disappointed. Between the two of us, we easily downed four pairs of meat goodness wedged steamed buns. They were tasty. Belly pork, roast duck, char siu, and Shiracha beef each pair costing £5.95. With a couple pots of hot tea and two free pastries (a deal with a hot drink , that came out to be more than your local grocery store lunch deal. Nice eats that I would come back to, but not if I were on a budget (or an Asian food snob... which I often am! ."

"Just WOW, what a find! Our friends took us, they go regularly and we understand why. The food was out of this world. it's a New Mexican, NOT a Mexican restaurant that is run by a husband and wife team who cook everything from scratch. Amazing value for money and a truly authentic meal. We will definitely be going again. One word of advice this place needs booking well in advance Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I was part of a large group of runners and walkers who had lunch at this restaurant after our exercise. The restaurant is a typical English country pub, tucked away from the road but easy to find with signs, and with a large garden for outdoor dining. The interior is just as charming. Since we were a big group, we had all pre-ordered our meals. I opted for the 'vintage' offer, which included a smaller main course of chicken bacon Caesar salad and a reduced size dessert of chocolate brownie with ice cream for a fixed price, which was a great deal. We ordered our drinks and settled our bills at the bar, and then our food was quickly and efficiently brought outside to us. It was a lovely day, made even better by the good weather and delicious food."

"Wonderful welcome, excellent service, great food and lovely place. We live in Bath and didn’t know the area at all. I was nervous booking with no local knowledge. I relied totally on what I read on line and that’s why I wanted to write this. Staff couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating (we were 7 adults, 2 dogs and a baby). Staff made sure that we knew exactly what was on offer before we read the menu (Saturday night had apparently been busy and 2 items were unavailable but suitable alternatives were offered). Service was helpful and friendly at all times. Food was well presented and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Thank you so much to all the staff great team work. Very satisfied customers The open fire was a lovely added bonus too."

"We visited the pub twice during our stay in Porthmadog. Visit I booked months ahead knowing that August would be busy so we were disappointed to be offered a table in, what I would class as, the poorest area of the dining areas.. the room at the front of the pub. We were a party of and the table was for It wasn't cleaned and ready even in these covid times the chairs were all over the place and it was made up of two tables which were uneven and weren't lined up together even though we only needed one of the tables for the of us. There appeared to be table reservations notes on tables but our name was not on the table we were offered. I looked around the pub and found a table with no note on it and asked if we could move to that table. The staff explained that the table system was in disarray and to ignore the notes on the tables. They agreed that we could move tables. The food was great very generous portions, hot and good service. Visit we called in to try to sit in the beer garden at and were told that it was closed. The pub was virtually empty and the staff seemed happy to turn away our business as they did not offer that we could sit in the pub which was quite empty. Overall the staff were not very welcoming, all requests seemed like an inconvenience to them and I got the feeling that they were not bothered about custom surprising given the lean times they must have had during covid. They seemed like they were working to an early closing/tidy up/emptying the pub time."

"I attended the cafe on my own, the welcome was so warming and friendly, the aesthetic of this cafe is so calming I enjoyed looking around at all the stuff on the walls service was fast and easy I had my coffee and toastie in good time after ordering. The ice coffee was unreal I would recommend trying the ice coffee with roasted hazelnut syrup ! Amazing portion sizes for such a good price. My Ham and cheese toasted on brown seeded bread was unreal it is not over complicated just what you want. The salad on the side was refreshing I usual don’t touch salad and not bothered with it but it was finished before my toastie the cafe filled up quickly and the men worked so hard and well together to get orders out, I loved this beautiful cafe and will have to visit again !! "This is an honest and fair review Me and my partner came here on Saturday evening. This was our first time coming here, having lived in herne bay for 20+ years in quite surprised I haven't been before. But I must say, we was both left feeling disappointed. The food was good and so was the service , but the whole restaurant seriously lacks finesse. Where we was sat all you could see was the buildings from outside , which aren't the nicest looking buildings. So that instantly reminds you that you’re in the middle of town that is very run down. There was music on, but was so quiet and was like spa music (where’s the theme in this place? my gin and my partners beer both came in a tumbler glass, our meals was brought to us one by one just in hand (no tray? Or serving table you see where I’m going with this? Point is, it felt like we was sat in a cafe eating a dinner. I can’t understand what the theme of this place is? There is no theme. Such small adjustments to this place would change the game! • Proper glasses for the right drinks • Thai , Chinese style music • take the frosted glass on the window all the way up so you feel your somewhere else and not looking at those buildings • plants , Chinese Thai ornaments something to resemble the theme • candles on tables , meals brought with finesse etc etc etc. Other than this; everyone was really polite and friendly and food was good. But because of the reasons I have said I wouldn’t spend money on this place again. UNLESS it was to make adjustments. I really hope this review helps the business and takes this on board."

"This was one of the best places I have been too in many a year. The welcome was so friendly and nothing at any time was too much trouble. My mother who is feels the cold and so they placed us at a table...in the warmest area. The food was excellent, freshly cooked, not microwaved food and full of great flavour. One of the special niceties was the fact that they had options of no bun burgers or gluten free buns and were more than happy to please the customer and satisfy any food requirements. It was a real pleasure to note that the staff were young and all so caring, an excellent example to the many younger staff elsewhere who make the customers feel that they are a nuisance. The tables were cleaned as people left! The hand cleanser and COVID signs were at the entry door and the toilet was exceptionally clean. Excellent and five star review is an injustice as they deserve much much more."

"It wasn’t the warmest welcome that we received. The entrance door was already open (to this small but vibrant restaurant) and so we did not see a notice on the middle of the door saying to wait to be seated, and as we walked in looking for staff a young lady somewhat sharply and sternly ordered us to wait outside on the pavement. After quite a while waiting, we were eventually ushered to our table. It’s a very nicely furnished place with an authentic look and feel to it. Once we were settled inside the other staff seemed pleasant. All the diners are closely seated next to each other and conversations were pretty loud and lively, but the restaurant had atmosphere. The wine arrived in good time but I asked for something to be omitted from the food, so I already anticipated that the food would take a while to arrive. Plus it was packed inside there. The food was good, nicely seasoned and rather flavoursome. For what you receive, I would say that it’s on the expensive side but fortunately we had a discount from The Fork and so it made it a bit more reasonable."

"Perhaps we were unlucky but we had to wait two hours between sitting down for lunch and getting our main course. Pretty much every order (food, drinks, desert) had something missing that we had to chase and wait for. We had to go to the bar and collect our own drinks having seen them poured (eventually) and then sat on the bar for too long. Food good and service friendly we got a discount on the bill but not sure it’s enough to make me return."

"So where do I start Booked a table for 8 at 7.30pm. So many things on the menus were not available which was actually started to get funny as pretty much everything we asked for initially wasn’t available. In the end we all managed to order something. The food actually wasn’t bad at all. We were then asked at about 8.30 if we would like to order dessert which we all did. Bearing in mind half the mains menu wasn’t available we suggested he found out what wasn’t available on the sweet menus before we ordered. He came back saying everything was available so we all ordered. 10 mins after ordering the lad came back and said the kitchen was closed and we could have no desserts!!! We were then told that as we had a child with us that we had to leave by 9pm. This was a few mins before 9pm. Bear in mind we had booked a table in the restaurant not a pub or bar so the 9pm law is irrelevant. We explained this and also politely let them know that we were not going anywhere until we had finished our drinks that we had paid for. So then the manageress with the blonde hair turns up and gets really moody and asks us to leave reiterating that it’s the law as we have a child with us. Clearly she wanted to go home. This girl has clearly no idea of what good customer service is. The other staff were embarrassed by the way she spoke to us. Then from the other side of the room a lovely lady who overheard the conversation told the manageress that the Nelson was once the best place to eat and drink in Oakham and that it’s been ruined but the current owners/group and the only reason she and her husband went there in that night was to watch the rugby as they knew it would be quiet. She went on to say that she could not believe the waiter took out order off us and 10 mins later said the kitchen was closed. The local lady then said she was embarrassed that us out of town visitors had experienced this and suggested we should have gone to the wheatsheaf instead. Just in case the owners read this. The lad with the curly hair was very pleasant, as was the slim girl with dark brown hair. The blonde manageress needs to be replaced."

"The last time I went to Koh Thai my table was booked for 630 and my food didn’t arrive until 915. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were short staffed , because usually the food and service is A* But now I’ve booked a table for my brothers 50th weeks ago and they have just cancelled us given us only six days notice for a table of 12 people and now we cannot find anywhere else that can accommodate us in such a short period of time When I called to discuss this, the lady on the phone was not very apologetic and clearly could’ve cared less. Very disappointed. Koh Thai has gone down in my estimation"

"Visited this lovely hidden gem in Middlesbrough on a work trip up North and I can honestly say it was an absolute delight. I had the bao bun to start and the Tonkotsu Pork Bone broth with the pork belly and both were delicious! One main thing to mention is for a solo trip, the ambience was perfect and it felt like such a welcoming and safe space. The waiter I had (I never found out his name! was so attentive, polite and respectful; sometimes it can be a little awkward when eating alone but he had the balance just right : Such a shame I was only up for a couple of days. Will certainly return if I’m ever working up north again."

"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant for Sunday lunch. The pictures on the website were misleading as the reality was quite different. The prices were slightly high and the quality of the food was not good. The service from the male waiter was uninterested. The cost per person was between £20-30. The food and service both received a rating of 2, while the atmosphere was a 3."

"After waiting 45 minutes for our food, it finally arrived, only for us to find out they had served us someone else's order. I found this puzzling given how empty the restaurant was. I had ordered a rare steak, but it came out cold and gray, while my girlfriend’s fillet was also cold. With the restaurant being so quiet, I couldn't comprehend the long wait and the poor temperature of the food. Had I not had a voucher, there is no way I would have paid for this meal; it was truly disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of The Shed. When I brought my complaints to the staff, it felt like they didn’t want to hear what I had to say. I will never return to The Shed again."

"I went into the Clydesdale meet a friend last night only to be told by the staff that the price of a pint of Stella had now reached £3.70. This is the second price increase this year and a pint of Stella has gone up 13.7% in real terms. All the staff here are really friendly and provide an excellent service ALWAYS! I really cannot understand how any business can justify an increase of this magnitude. Whilst at the bar ordering my drink, I did take into account other customers reaction to the price increases and I felt really sorry for all the bar staff who were dealing with the shock of the customers extremely well. Rachael (the mangeress) and all her staff do a truly wonderful job serving the locals of Lanark and to put nice staff in a difficult position is very unfair. I just wondered if the owners of this chain actually realise that the price of a pint of Stella is now more than in a pub in Central Glasgow!!! I'm a pensioner approaching the age of 80 and on a fixed income and I just wished that my pension rose by 13.7% per annum to cope with these extortionate price increases. Do the owners actually realise that if you walk just over 100 yds from this establishment that people can get a pint of the same beer for 35p less?? This 2nd additional price is not on sorry. I hope that readers of this review will actually check all my other 84 reviews and see just how positive I normally am. Please also check my last review for the Clydesdale which was also very positive. The staff here are second to none as is the manageress Rachael all of whom do a wonderful job."
