"I have a particular fondness for the Royal Oak. Many years ago, I used to visit during my regular hiking trips in the area, and it's wonderful to see that the pub has retained its charming atmosphere despite its tremendous success and rapid growth as a business. It still features real fires and remains dog-friendly. However, I find the overnight accommodations a bit beyond my means, and dining there has become quite pricey. I ordered a side of chips for £4, but I would appreciate it if the main courses offered more options around £12 or (preferably) lower, rather than averaging £18 to £20. After a long walk, I would happily spend a little more for something comforting and hearty. It’s great to see the pub thriving, and I plan to continue visiting for many years to come."

"I buy a house in marlow and decided to give this place a try. I have eaten several paintings in the hand and flowers over the years and even the big ones met a few times. I decided to give this as Tuesday dinner. to make an attempt. it was empty, so sat at the bar. It was very confusing when four different people tried to be my waitress/wacherin and to fall over themselves with repeated questions. I ordered a great joy of crying. then I put my job for burger and fries, which the waiter asked if this was all, and I said yes, I saved myself for the banans dessert. then he began to persuade me to buy more items and take them away to eat bizarre tonight, but I ignored! the burger came in a “wrapper” all very mcdonalds takeaway on a tablet. I asked for ketchup and salt. the burger was nice and the chips good, but the bungalow was very, very soggy. the waiter asked how it was, and I just asked if the wrap is part of the cooking process when I was seized why the bungalow was not roasted? then he went on to explain how the wrapper is amazing to keep the heat in and went on to educate me as he takes the burger away and to his house in reading after the work and they are still hot! I am in a restaurant that has a belonging to michelin and a child lecturing me on takeaway food he gets free or on a discount! service was terrible and I stayed hanging for 15 minutes after my plate was deleted and finally the attention someone to order the banana cheesecake and coffee. what came was a one-way cup with cheesecake cream, biscuit and dried bananas on! I rejected it and asked for the bill. the managerin was extremely rude and with em and I went out that the experience was a total sweat. I later called by phone to discuss the above mentioned and ended with the same miserable woman who showed me to my chair and was rude with the bill. essentially there is a reason why this place seems to be empty when so many other places were bought in marlow city center on Tuesday. I will not waste my time at this place again, I was made to feel very involuntary and eating is filthy. I think it will soon be closed and reopened with a new concept because this does not deliver."
"Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. But no idea what happened to the food! 2 mixed grills ordered. One medium , one medium rare. Both were medium rare and tough, sausages missing off one, chicken missing off the other, tomato missing off one, a member of staff did rush out with 2 sausages just prior to me going to ask where they were. Both people in our party said their grill wasn’t hot. 2 festive salmon dishes were lovely but again food wasn’t hot. 2 children’s deserts were meant to be topped with strawberry, not a strawberry in site, try telling a 4 year old and a 2 year old where Santas hat had gone. The pre ordered deserts we had to ask for as they seemed to have forgotten. A after eight sundae arrived with loads of after eights in but whole! Very difficult to negotiate around the sundae glass. I’ve had this at another brewers fayre and they were cut into pieces). Whoever made this needs lessons in presentation. But thanks for the 9 in total after eight mints. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Bacon Cheese Burger, Fish, Triple Chocolate Brownie, Ice Cream Sundae With, Mixed Grill"

"I’ll try to give as much unbiased review as possible here, exclusively based on the menu items we ordered. I’ll rate these on the standard scale of 1 5. Hong Kong Roast Duck with Rice 5/5 Great portion and flavour. Chicken Katsu Curry with Fried Noodles 5/5 Excellent taste and great portion. Crispy Aromatic Duck with pancakes 3/5 The duck was not shredded. I never had this item from any takeaway place, where there expect the customer to shred the duck! Ah well. However the duck meat quality was not the best either. Too dry and chewy. BBQ ribs 1/5 Only bones and no meat whatsoever in most of the pieces. The pieces which did have some meat were super chewy and tasted stale. Being an avid foodie I could make out immediately that we were served very old meat. Overall 3/5, based on the above items. The meat quality overall was certainly not great. To me it was nothing special just your standard Chinese Takeaway."

"This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself traveling to Tregaron, whether from Aberystwyth, Carmarthen, or anywhere in between. The location is peaceful and easily accessible from the main roads leading to Aberystwyth (24 miles away) - I often cycle there myself. There are numerous reasons to recommend this place, but here are my top ones: 1. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming at any time of day. 2. The food is homemade using locally sourced ingredients from farms and businesses. 3. The atmosphere is quiet and serene. 4. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the high quality of the food. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and even make a 14-mile round trip cycling journey at least 3 times a week in good weather to dine here."

"I went out for dinner tonight and had a bit of a mixed experience. The service for drinks was slow, taking 15 minutes for our first round and 20 minutes for my second drink. We tried to order our meal using the app, but it wasn't working so we had to go up to the bar. The bartender put our order through the till, but there was a discrepancy in the total due to a deal that was not clearly explained. Despite this, we didn't argue over the small £3 difference. My starter, hunter's waffle fries, arrived with just cheese at first, but I had to send it back for sauce. I also noticed that there was no bacon, but decided to just eat it as is. When our mains arrived, I had ordered chicken strips with a side of mac and cheese, but received a full main of mac and cheese with the chicken strips instead. My partner ordered the steak pie, which was supposed to come with gravy, but did not. Despite the mix-ups, we still enjoyed our meal and appreciated the efforts of the waiter/bartender. It wasn't the best experience, but we made the most of it."

"I enjoyed a beer in here on several occasions. But today was Sunday lunch. Busy rural pub 15 mins south of Reading. Car park packed and only able to park on the road. Absolutely superb. Friendly staff, swift service despite the crowd. And very high quality food. I enjoyed the G&D burger absolutely fabulous and Mrs B had the roast beef (Medium Rare) described as “the best roast beef I have ever had……that I haven’t cooked”. And she knows a good roast beef. High praise indeed. All washed down with some decent Merlot. All in all very very good for about £60. Highly recommended."

"Food great but service very poor. First time visit as a couple to meet a friend and we had chosen this venue as the ambience always looks so good in passing. First minor failing, on arrival we were offered a table for 2 in the window, great but there are three of us so this was the first indication of not knowing what they were doing. Taking drinks orders took ages and then getting drinks took ages. Food took ages and although we had all food at the same time other tables did not. The food was however really good so no fault there. The bad service was just one person but all of them would just stand staring leaving people with dirty glasses, empty glasses, no drinks, empty plates etc it was all just poor. We were then charged the over the norm 12.5% service with no option to remove. Consumers should make a stand against those restaurants that automatically add service as they are not earning it and therefore don't bother making the effort."

"When first opened after renovation the Toots bar area was thriving and provided fantastic quality bar meals. This is the first time I've visited in a while and arriving at 7pm on a Saturday night the Toots bar was empty, not a single soul around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The menu has definitely changed, out with the good old favourites and replaced by a menu with items that sounded sourced from Masterchef. The starters, though extremely small, we're really nice (Local Roe Deer, and Shetland Scallops) the main course was much better portioned and was very tasty, Buffalo Shoulder, and a Buffalo Burger. The sweet however was extremely disappointing for those who chose the Clootie Dumpling, an extremely dry what seemed like Ginger Cake (nothing closely resembling a Clootie Dumpling) and covered in a green tasteless foam (described as Espuma) luckily I had chosen the Biscuits and Cheese. The whole evening we were there a couple came in, as well as a single person. There was no atmosphere and the place has lost its buzz and life. I'm not sure if that because of the new overly fancy menu for a bar area, or the fact the locals no longer feel welcome in a atmosphere. Unfortunately both the menu, and the atmosphere will stop me from returning anytime soon, which is such a shame for a once great local business."

"I want to share my thoughts about this restaurant, since my family and I have been coming here for the past nine years. Better late than never! Despite some of the reviews, this place has never changed for the worse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner have always been delicious. The staff is fantastic, and the location is simply perfect. It has been, and we hope it will always be, a part of our annual family vacation."

"I visited the Full House Noodle Bar with a friend at the weekend after not being for some time. As always the food was tasty, fresh and good sized portions. Between us we had Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, Salt and Pepper Chicken for starters followed by Sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. Also had egg fried rice and boiled rice. The staff are always very friendly and attentive throughout. It was all delicious and will continue to return here again in the future."

"This hidden gem may not look like much from the outside and has simple interiors similar to a Vietnamese café, but it serves some of the best food I've had in a long time. The dishes are presented in a minimalist way with vibrant colors and scents that make you eager to dig in, which is a good excuse for the lack of photos. My friends and I had a delightful meal sharing summer rolls, crispy spring rolls, bbq satay chicken baguette, chicken and prawn omelet, seafood pho, stir-fried lamb with peanuts dressing, chicken satay with rice noodles, spicy seafood noodles, ginger and tofu in coconut milk, and Vietnamese coffee. We had to take a long walk afterwards to burn off the delicious meal, but it was totally worth it. My personal favorites were the crispy rolls, baguette, and lamb, although I can't stop thinking about the scallops in the seafood noodles. The prices are reasonable, but be aware that the dinner menu is served at lunchtime on weekends and is a bit more expensive. The staff is efficient and friendly, and the relaxed café-style vibe is perfect for a quick bite and some indulgence."

"absolutely beautiful Sunday dinner here. we moved on to the off chance, they could impress us and they could thankfully, in the marquee, which is beautiful with looking at the beautiful flower filled entrance into the pub decorated is the dame that welcomed me was very friendly and friendly. our order was quickly taken by a beautiful young waitress who then brought our drinks she was not the least bit fazed by the wespe or the flailing poor of my children, as she put the glasses on the table, so that deserves a medaille in herself! my youngest son and I had the bark meat roast dinner: carving, which was perfectly cooked, huge house made yorkshire and bratkartoffeln, then sharing a generous beside dish of vegetables that were actually cooked were not steamed meat. my other 2 children ordered from the children's menu and both also enjoyed their. I was really impressed by how fast the staff in the pub and the marquee to check either on the service or on the guests, we never felt abandoned or forgotten. 100% return."

"We went to the Royal Oak to celebrate my partner's birthday and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. When we arrived, there was no one at the bar. After waiting for a short while, a staff member finally noticed us and escorted us to our table. However, he was not very welcoming or helpful. We had to ask to place our order, and when I inquired about a dish on the menu, he had little knowledge of it. Later, he returned to inform us that the bravas sauce for my daughter's dish was not available. When I asked for alternatives, he listed two other sauces and simply said "and some others!!", showing a lack of knowledge about the menu. The meals we received were underwhelming, especially my daughter's chicken schnitzel, which was missing the sauce and feta cheese. There was no apology for this oversight. We were planning to have more drinks and dessert, but the staff's indifference and lack of hospitality deterred us, so we settled the bill and left. It's unfortunate because we are local and would have been regular patrons, but we won't be returning."

"Honestly the best food I’d ever tasted. If I was on death row this would be in top contention for my last meal. the tuna melt??? DELECTABLE and the milkshakes were so so so incredible. To top it off whoever was on the music played some absolute nostalgia hitting bangers. The colour scheme of the inside was We’d been trekking the coastal path for 4 days and this was our final stop- can’t actually describe in words how lovely it was for this to be our final pit stop. also want to mention that the window cleaner across the road was utter entertainment (mans was obviously getting paid per hour I didn’t know it was possible to make a 5 minute job into a 2 hour long one but he made it possible "

"I absolutely love this pub; it’s everything a traditional pub should be. They don’t serve food, but that doesn’t bother me or the locals at all. It’s a place for regulars to enjoy a few beers and chat with other patrons. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with everyone greeting you with a smile. The vibe is laid-back, and the owner is fantastic. It's genuine and not forced, which is exactly the kind of pub I appreciate. I can’t wait to go back very soon!"

"I wanted to say thank you to such a wonderful team here who truly looked after us for my Dad's birthday on Sunday. The food was fantastic especially the gluten-free options available, but what deserves more than 5* is the service by the Manager and his team, who quite literally saved my Dad's life after he experienced a medical issue. We will be coming back again again, and recommending to everyone! Dietary restrictions: Fabulous options for gluten-free! The battered fish and chips was just what I fancied and was so happy it was available gluten-free!"

"Nothing thrilling at all the are better restaurants at this price point. Starters arrived in about 20 mins, our drinks after 40 mins, reason was there were groups of other ppl ordering drinks and I guess they considered them move important. When I made the booking that my wife is pregnant and it’s her birthday. There was no effort made on this point throughout the entire visit. My chicken ballotine was dry as was my wife’s chicken milanese. I came here years back when it was good and busy. Now it’s lame tired and under staffed. Save your money and go elsewhere like the Brooks restaurant or the Victoria, both are close by and will be much better in food and service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"
