"I enjoyed a beer in here on several occasions. But today was Sunday lunch. Busy rural pub 15 mins south of Reading. Car park packed and only able to park on the road. Absolutely superb. Friendly staff, swift service despite the crowd. And very high quality food. I enjoyed the G&D burger absolutely fabulous and Mrs B had the roast beef (Medium Rare) described as “the best roast beef I have ever had……that I haven’t cooked”. And she knows a good roast beef. High praise indeed. All washed down with some decent Merlot. All in all very very good for about £60. Highly recommended."

Great atmosphere and lovely secluded garden. Great selection of very tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices, staff were smiley and friendly made us feel really welcome. We will be back soon!

Wonderful experience for a Sunday lunch today. Top marks for the service, couldn't be more helpful and friendly, great place to take the in-laws whilst downing some quality beer. Really impressed the in-laws has left me in the good books many thanks, will be back!

Great country pub with superb ale, excellent food, friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. We had a mixture of mains from battered cod, venison and liver all of which were superb. Accessibility is ok, once you have got passed the first step which is only small. Thoroughly recommend.

I had dinner there last week: it was a rainy cold evening, had just arrived from portugal and we were taken to this fantastic place where we had a super dinner at the kamin. I hope I can return in the april. until I do that, I wish you all good and thank the service the greeting and the quality of everything recommended!

Dropped in today for a drink and lunch on a long bike ride. Could not have hoped for a better experience. Staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating, even letting us hide our bikes so we could dine inside. Food and service was fantastic, so we will head back as soon as possible for more of the same! It's the service that makes a difference and the team here are next level. Thanks for a great lunch!

Still the same beautiful old pub (our favourite venue for birthdays and family parties for over 20 years! , but with new management sadly not the restaurant it once was. Very restricted menu now, with fairly standard dishes and my 'pavlova ' dessert was just a meringue nest with ball of ice cream on top surprising for the price charged. After 2 disappointing visits this year, sadly we will not be going again.
