"Visited this establishment on previous occasions and always enjoyed the food. We recently visited again for the first time since covid restrictions were lifted, the pub has since been refurbished and looks great. However when we walked in around lunchtime on a Saturday we expected it to be busy judging by the number of cars parked up outside in fact it was very quiet with only two tables occupied and the occupants of one table just finishing off their drinks before departing. We approached the reception desk where upon we were told to pick a table and someone will be along very shortly to take our orders, a very long wait later I came to the conclusion that I would need to draw some ones attention to the fact that they have hungry customers! I went back to the desk and asked the very same lady if it was possible to order a meal for two only to be told that I need to go through to the Bar area and order there!! My wife ordered Scampi and chips with a salad and I opted for a cheese burger and chips, eventually after a short wait our food arrived my wife thought they had forgotten the salad until she realised that they had “hidden” the salad under the scampi in a small bowl. Id say the food was ok just not justified by the price Wife had a medium rose wine at £6.00 and I had a half pint of lager at £3.10 glad I did not order a pint! Bottom line an expensive disappointment wont be in a hurry to visit again."

Had a good lunch here which was a welcome break from the relentless rain. Dog friendly mostly. Good selection of ale and gin. Food was good.

Great Pub/restaurant with super rooms. easy to park in the square outside and well placed for North Wales. We stayed for 1 night and had dinner and a superb breakfast. Rooms tastefully furnished with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and water. Definitely stay again!

Dry comfortable and pleasant stay at this nice pub. We upgraded to a suite which was a beautifully presented room with plentiful supplies of tea and coffee etc and a lovely place to relax after a busy day’s sightseeing. We ate dinner in the pub and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We visited here for a Sunday roast last year, whilst holidaying locally, and had one of the best roast dinners we’ve ever had. We came again yesterday wondering if it would be as good it most definitely was!!! The roast platters are out of this world and the service was excellent!

Booked a table for 8 in advance, we go every year as two family's together. Pre ordered our food. The entire experience is 5 star from the immaculate frontage of The Golden Fleece, the decor, the bar, the doggy treats and the food! We are literally stuffed and it was all absolutely gorgeous as usual! Thank you Team keep up the good work!

We have visited several times over the past couple of years and always enjoyed the food atmosphere. Unfortunately the customer service yesterday was disappointing. We were greeted by a member of staff who pointed to where our table was said to go to bar to order. I would expect a better welcome service from a “restaurant” We spent over £200 when we had to query an item on the bill the attitude of the waitress was just rude. If anyone looking to book I would AVOID sitting by the door which is where we were sat. Like sat eating in a cold corridor.

Booked for Sunday lunch for a family of 6 (4 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs). We booked our table months in advance. On arrival we were shown to our table which was clearly a table for 4 people but set for 6. When I queried this with staff. I was told it was a 6 person table. We had to move a chair to the end to accommodate us all. When the food arrived it was clearly evident we could not all sit around the table comfortably. The food was average. Childrens choice was poor. Flat beer. On finishing our meal, no plates were cleared and a member of staff started sweeping up around us. We paid and left disappointed.
