"I was booked in by hotel reception (hotel reviewed separately). I arrived for my table in the restaurant at and surprised it wasn't busier on a Friday evening. I was seated by a new lad in training he was very young. Smiling and very...pleasant. I started with a mini bottle of prosecco. I had the squid and prawn starter, there was another fish, can't remember what it's called but you can see it in the picture, I'd never tried it before but it was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mains was lamb cutlets with mustard mash and kale. Again delicious. Dessert black forest slice. Mmm. I wish I had taken a picture of it all. It was thoroughly enjoyed. The service was attentive and fast by all the staff. A great restaurant if you're in the area."

"I had walked past this pub, in a side street down from the Strand, a number of times and this was my first visit. I'd like to return to stay a bit longer. The bitter was good, as was my friend's Guinness. There is another bar upstairs, but it was closed for a function on my visit. The Gents toilets are up the stairs and on the right. The WC is tiny! There's a Ladies upstairs in the other bar."

"I avoid writing negative reviews, but I feel Roast should discontinue its high tea. It started well: the restaurant is lovely, and the table looked nice. Roast is a restaurant, busy and loud, w most patrons NOT enjoying high tea. There was no fine china in sight. Our young, nice waiter knew zero, nada, nothing about the teas served, about seven choices, all but two familiar to us. The tiered servers were plopped unceremoniously on the table w no explanation. The food was tasty, the tea remained hot; no one spoke to us again; we even had difficulty paying our bill. Roast tea was relatively inexpensive. However, 50% of high tea is the trappings, the attention, the pride and knowledge of product. All were lacking at Roast."

"Such a jewel in our neighborhood. Small dining room with open view of the kitchen, proud cooking and kitchen staff, inviting waitress as you enter. The menu includes a good selection, so something for everyone. But the best part is the quality of food, good ingredients and well prepared. Even very familiar dishes only taste better."

"Stumbled upon Belvedere walking in Holland Park and decided to check it out. What a beautiful restaurant! The staff were knowledgeable not only about the menu, but the whole story of the place. As it turns out, the building dates back to the 17th century and was once a ballroom. The restaurant’s been there for a while, but changed owners recently and has undergone full transformation. New dining rooms are absolutely stunning, an homage to the venue’s history, beautifully lit and full of greenery which creates an organic bond between the outside and inside. I’m interior design aficionado myself, visiting unique venues all over the world and I’m usually quite picky. Here I could not fault a single thing atmosphere-wise. The food looks a bit simple, but ingredients are top notch and the flavours were on point. Highly recommend for a romantic date or special occasion!"

"A slightly more mixed review this time. Lucky Cat remains a decent choice and service is impeccable, if a bit slow (but understandable on a busy night). But a few issues: one the music was very loud and we had to shout to be able to hear each other. Two, the menu has been revamped and simplified according to our waiter and just wasn 't as exciting as before. Three, the bill this time felt quite steep, even allowing for the location."

"Brilliant service and food. We were led by the porter. He showed us towards the restaurant. We sat fast and immediately was a server with us with menus. He explained what the fish of the day was. We ordered our appetizers and main thing and asked for wine advice. Our server brought the sommelier. He had already heard about our food choice and had his advice on his way. The wines he suggested were brilliant. You've paired with the dishes. The food was amazing. It tasted so rich and perfect. The best food we had in a while. Our server was friendly and polite. When it was time to order Dessert, the Sommelier came back to help us with a dessert win. He asked us if we knew how Dessertwine was made. He began an amazing story about different types of dessertwine and how they were made. He said it with enthusiasm. A man who loves his job clearly. It was worth a wonderful experience and time and visit."

"Chose to eat at The Clock for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, with a friend. Staff masked, distancing friendly. Sea bass was a first class main dish. Chorizo sweetcorn croquettes were an interesting tasty starter, the fruity Summer pudding finished things off nicely. The maximum number of diners at any time where we were seated was obviously controlled, which was thoughtful impressive I witnessed some local restaurants that were cramming them in encouraging queuing. Feeling comfortable when eating out is important at the moment, and we certainly did so."

"We stayed as guests at the Marriott Hotel and were looking forward to eating at this restaurant. Friday night 10th April was relatively quiet approx. 15 diners in total. The decor was uninspired and looked dated. No music so lacked ambience despite nice view over sea. Experience let down by poorly trained waiters (fingers on plate/sauce, no charm/welcome, etc. we felt they all preferred to have the night off. We picked the set menu but what a mistake felt like the food had been prepared in advance by a chef who was catering for the 'coach party crowd ' (tasteless/overcooked . With a bit of passion, a face lift, and cookery skills this restaurant could be so much better... avoid until then..."

"At the bar, drinks were being poured and the girl mentioned that the cocktail would take a while to be brought to the table. There were a total of 9 people in the bar/lounge area with three servers. After 15 minutes, I noticed the bartender folding napkins and asked for the cocktail. He gestured towards the bar where the girl had been standing before serving other customers. The bartender seemed disinterested and gave me a look as if to say, "How dare you ask?" In the restaurant, which had 5 dining tables, my daughter requested a Hendrick's gin and tonic but the server had never heard of it. She suggested a Bombay Sapphire instead, but they were out of that too. My wife asked for black pepper, but the server claimed they only had white pepper in the shaker on the table. Midway through the meal, the restaurant managers ran by and inquired about the missing black pepper. Eventually, a server brought a pepper pot to the table and mentioned that it took so long because they didn't know how to open it, but it turned out to be a pepper grinder. Despite the food being good and the service friendly, the staff seemed to have no idea what they were doing. This particular location, the Marriot Highcliff Hotel in Bournemouth, does not live up to the standards of the Marriot Group. It lacked a sense of responsibility and interest, giving off a poor impression overall. A bizarre and disappointing experience."

"The service was terrible. The staff left us waiting while they chatted among themselves. Even though we arrived on time, we were asked to wait while other guests were served their starters. At breakfast, there were no glasses for the juices or plates for the food, so we had to ask for them. Additionally, the menu on display had items that were no longer available."

"Lovely lunch, although it would have been nice to be told what veg we would be given, as my partner didn't like red cabbage. I did not want to say anything and embarrass anyone. My lamb was delicious and his mixed roast was good too. Service excellent. The only thing was it was quite dark in the restaurant. Think it was an old building. Will go back."

"This restaurant was situated on a boat moored on the Quayside. So the setting was lovely. Service was good but did seem to be a bit overstretched. The food we chose was excellent, prepared, cooked and presented to a high standard. The set menu was a bit limited and although it had a fixed price, almost half the main dishes came at premium incurring an extra cost. We found the atmosphere/ambience quite loud. This was mainly due to the echoing acoustics. Not really the clientèle although there were a few loud individuals enjoying their Wine to the full."

"I have taken my parents and my father into law for a Christmas holiday. the music was great and could all ask. the personal, where really attentive and we were offered another table, as some of our party had mobility problems. we were made to feel the most welcome. as a parent of a child with heavy allergies (which this time was not with us) I would feel sure that the kenn drawing on the food was clear and the staff that sought the food was knowledgeable. eating was good for a Sunday carvery really enjoyed the meal."

"My wife's birthday was celebrated at The Brassiere on Sunday with a group of seven close family members. The service, food, and ambience were all excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The buffet lunch was enjoyed by all, with a good selection and quality of dishes. The only downside was that the accompaniments for the roasts were not as impressive. A three-piece band came to our table and played Happy Birthday, as well as some other songs of my wife's choosing. The lively atmosphere added to the overall enjoyable experience. The prices were as expected for a place like Pennyhill Park. I would recommend The Brassiere for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday."

"the Queens head is our way into the pub for consistently amazing food. the belly pork is from this world, but after the last 3 visit I decided to try the fish chips. it must be the best haddock I ever had! very light, thinner teig that does not take away from fresh fish! our company had steak, beef wellington, steak ale pie the salmon. all amazing I can not recommend this pub enough. great for our jubilee, birthday, friends to treat or just because they feel like a good meal"
