"this is one of our regular and most popular restaurants to visit not only in our hometown hornchurch, but throughout the essex. we always enjoy great eating by chef craig and excellent service by manager giovanni. but I must say that our last visit on Sunday was just one of the best. we came to the usual kind greeting of giovanni before we sat on our table. we ordered an aperitif to give us the opportunity to view the menu. it was when giovanni came back not only with our drinks, but also with the specials in which we would be for a little surprise. unknown for us craig offered us the opportunity to have a charcuterie board and a bark carpaccio as starter options that we liked to accept. we then ordered a bottle of montepulciano D’Abruzzo to couple with the food. to the starters of a charcuterie board and beef carpaccio, both of which were absolutely fabulous. the carpaccio was accompanied with mushrooms, nuts parmesan, while besides the fabulous selection of meat were olives, sun-dried tomatoes, filled pfeffer, burrata salat. To be honest, everyone was a very joyful one. after a nice little break it was time for the main course where my wife enjoyed their favorite spaghetti bygole. for me I was for a real tasty as from the special table I chose the braised beef with broccoli creamy maic, which was absolutely fantastic and without doubt one of the best dishes that ever at da vinci. now it was time for desserts where my wife from the specials chose the cherry almond bombe while I had the classic tiramisu. accompanying this craig sent a heavenly lemon lime posset. we finished with a coffee to end a fabulous lunch. the eating of craig was amazing and the service was nothing else than they expect from giovanni and his team. that is really a restaurant that I would recommend and is also a good credit not only to my hometown of hornchurch, but also to the graphic essex. when we were asked for the bill, a free glass of basilius and harbour were sent to our table as the last lovely personal touch. many thanks to craig giovanni for an excellent lunch and look forward to many more visits in the future."

"My partner and I visited this restaurant with a Groupon voucher for a meal for 2 with freshly squeezed juice. Prior to the visit we rang to book, the young lady on the telephone had poor english and struggled to understand our request, we eventually ended up with a booking for Rachel not Richard as was clearly stated !!! On arrival we were seated and given 1 menu between us. It was then 45 minutes before anybody came to take our order. The waiter clearly did not speak english so we had to point to the menu and he wrote down the relevant code number. We ordered drinks, a glass of rose and a pint of lager. I was brought a bottle of rose and had to explain I only wanted a glass. When the drinks arrived I was given a wine glass about 1/3rd full, Im sure this wasn’t the correct measure and certainly not £4.95 worth of wine. I then noticed there was lipstick on the glass, I asked for this to be changed. The dirty drink was left on the table and a clean glass was brought which I refused. I was eventually brought a replacement this time 2/3rds full, so clearly no set measure being used. After some time a girl appeared with a tray containing 2 main courses, not ours, I explained we hadn’t had our starters and she went back with the food then tried to serve it to another table. Eventually our starters arrived and were ok, decent sized portion and tasty. Table was then cleared and there was a long wait for the mains to arrive during which I asked for our freshly squeezed juice which hadn’t appeared. The orange juice was poured from a carton at the bar, so clearly not freshly squeezed. The mains eventually arrived, my monkfish in a hot cantonese special sauce was sweet and sour and my partners thai green curry was a vivid shade of green. Both tasted ok but my “hot” sauce was very disappointing. The service was very poor and certainly didn’t make me feel welcome therefore I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon."
